Playoff TV Promo Idea

With the Knicks and Rangers both making the playoffs for the first time in a long time, we have been bombarded with these awesome promos from MSG. I saw a picture the other day of Melo, Chauncey and Stat all lined up and realized an AMAZING promo idea.

You have 7(melo) chances to win 4(billups) games all for 1(stat) dream.....an nba championship

So the idea is to have that awesome voice over guy from the current videos do the promo(obviously)

Why Reyes Can be Traded

I do NOT want to trade Jose, but sometimes you have to do things you dont like.

So obviously everyone can read but 5 times in the last 8 seasons the WS champ did not have a SS leadoff, and their SS was not a top 500 player in the league!

Reyes is a catalyst and an amazing ball player, but SS rarely wins a team championships. Does everyone still disagree?

Why can't we trade Reyes, and find a leadoff hitter who can do what Reyes does but plays CF, plus get a SP in return as long as a 2b, sign a veteran SS and go from there?

Hypothetically speaking what if the Mets traded Reyes to Boston and got Ellsbury, Scutaro(Lowrie) and a SP from Boston ?

Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has been absolutely money so far in the playoffs this year. However he's going to have to play better then he did against Chicago if he wants to get his first ring. He's going to have to be on his toes in this one and be ready to scramble. We already know he can run, but this is the best defense he might ever face in his career. They bring the pressure and get after quarterbacks. I can see him using a lot of screen passes to his running backs and short passes over the middle to avoid the rush. He has such a great chemistry with Greg Jennings right now as they've connect 16 times over the past two games, going over 100 yards twice, but I expect him to spread the ball around more in this game as he'll have to get it out of his hands faster. So look for Brandon Jackson, Andrew Quarless, James Jones and even John Kuhn to be involved in the pass game. The Packers have won a lot of games this year with basically no run game so I expect Rodgers to be ready to take over in this one. I also expect Donald Driver to have a big game as he's now 35 in his 12th year looking for a ring, and he might do whatever it takes to get it.

On the defensive side, I expect this defense to hold Mendenhall in check most of this game as the Packers defense is a lot more aggressive then the Jets. Don't expect guys like Clay Matthews, AJ Hawk, Desmond Bishops Ryan Pickett, B.J. Raji and Cullen Jenkins to miss so many tackles as we saw the Jets defense do in the 1st half which is essentially why they lost the game. Big Ben is going to have to deal with cornerbacks Sam Shields who just came off a 2 INT game and future hall of famer Charles Woodson along with safeties Nick Collins, and Tremon Williams who has 3 INT's in the playoffs. Hines Ward and Mike Wallace might have another tough game trying to get open and the Steelers need to get the ball in Mike Wallace's hands if they want to make the big play. This defense is young, fast and aggressive and I expect them to make a few plays which will determine the outcome of this Super Bowl.

Limit Rodger's chances by giving Mendenhall the rock. The Steelers are going to have to use their ground and pound game early and often in this one to help them win. We all saw how hard Mendenhall ran against a very good Jets run defense, and how he dominated the half himself. The Jets had 5 possessions in the 1st half which consisted of 3 punts, 3 three and outs, a fumble which was returned for 6 and a FG to end the half. That's the defense that has to show up against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. If Mendenhall gets off to a quick start then it will allow Roethlisberger to get more time in the pocket to find his guys. However as we saw in the 1st half of the Jets game if the run game is working you don't need to pass. However if the Steelers get off to another good start and open up a big lead they can't play a lackluster defense where they dont bring the pressure, because as we saw the Jets almost overcame a 24-0 game. The Packers are not the Jets and can score in a hurry, so when you get off to a lead they need to just build on it and stop the Packers offense because when playing against Rodgers, no lead is safe. But like I said it's going to come down to how Mendenhall plays, he's the most important part of the Steelers offense, as we saw him control the 1st half of the Jets game and the Steelers won the game with Mike Wallace and Hines Ward combining for 3 catches 20 yards. Also Big Ben will have to limit his turnovers against a defense that gets after the ball. When the Steelers do throw, watch out for guys like Heath Miller, Antonio Brown, and Emmanuel Sanders to be surprise guys to make the big play.

On the defensive side, the Steelers should only focus on Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, and James Jones as James Starks should be no threat to the best run defense in the game. I'm a huge fan of this Steelers linebacker core with James Harrison, James Farrior, Lawrence Timmons and Lamar Woodley. Rodgers is extremely mobile and picks apart defenses when they bring the pressure but there is no better linebacker core that he has faced before. The Steelers should bring the pressure from the left, right and middle all game and keep Rodgers on the ground. The more he winds up on the turf the more uncomfortable he will be, and with Rodgers confidence sky high right now that's the best thing the Steelers defense can do. Ike Taylor will have his hands full with a speedy Greg Jennings but safeties Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark will have to do a good job at being aggressive and getting after the ball.

J.J. Watt DE Wisconsin - The Cowboys have so many offensive weapons and Romo will be back in 2011. Their defense however was 26th in the league in passing yards allowed. They need a lot of help in the secondary, but if they still need to attack the QB. Outside of Demarcus Ware's 15.5 sacks, no Cowboy had more than 3.5. J.J. Watt can help.

I have seem so many different players selected here on other's mocks but I like Watt for the Boys

Julio Jones WR Alabama - Sam Bradford looked great as a rookie QB and was a game away from leading his team to a division title and the playoffs. Unfortunately, he had nobody to throw the ball too. In comes Julio Jones. A super talent but inconsistent, the Rams take a huge risk here, similar to the way the Cowboys did last year with Dez Bryant. How does everyone like that pick now?

There might be other needs for the Rams, but Bradford needs a big playmaker, and unless they are planning on spending money in the FAmarket, Julio Jones is their guy

Robert Quinn DE North Carolina - Arizona ranked near the bottom of every category both on offense and defense, so selecting the best player available is a wise decision.

I know most people probably want Dareus here with this pick but outside of Calaius Campbell, the Cardinals have no DE's. Also, Quinn is a SUPER talent, but has some issues. Joey Porter and Coach Wisenhunt should be able to straighten him out.

Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson - Bowers is an incredible pass rusher, and the Bengals need him.

Coming into this season I really thought the Bengals D would repeat their 2009 success. We all know that did not happen. With the LB core of Rey Maualuga, Keith Rivers and Dhani Jones, and talented young CBs in Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall the Bengals are really missing a dominate pass rusher. That is where Bowers fits in perfectly with this team. Bowers is a sack machine and the Bengals really need someone opposite Dunlaps 9.5 sacks.

Patrick Peterson CB LSU - The Broncos need a lot of help on defense, but they will get Elvis Dumervil back so CB help is a priority. Peterson is NFL ready and having Champ Bailey on the team to tutor him is great for both the Broncos and Patrick.

I know the Broncos would need to resign Bailey and he is looking to go to a winner, but hopefully he feels loyal to the city of Denver and the Broncos franchise. Either way, CB is a HUGE need for Denver and even bigger if Champ walks.

The Buccanneers are in a great position here as they really showed the NFL that they were for real. Josh Freeman is an amazing talent and Tampa's front office knows they need to protect him. Sherrod is a the best OL available as nate Solder and Tyron Smith will already be off the board.

There are other ways the Bucs can draft here, but they need Veterans to come in and help lead this young exciting football team to the top of the NFC South. They will need big name vets to sign some contracts if they want to beat the Falcons and the Saints. Drafting Oline is a wise decision he

How the Packers can win: Get the run game going and keep an aggressive approach on defense. If the Packers can get rookie James Starks going like they did against the Eagles (23 carries for 123 yards) then it will be a defensive nightmare for the Falcons. The Falcons will have a hard enough time focusing on stopping Rodgers that Starks could interfere with their game plan. With the effective run game Rodgers threw for 3 TDs and was 18/27. The Packers attacked Mike Vick all game and really held him in check. Yea he threw for 292 yards but they did force him to throw an INT to finish the game, and they held him to only 33 rushing yards. They might have a little trouble containing Michael Turner but they'll bring the pressure when Ryan drops back to pass and they don't have to worry about him scrambling away as he only had 122 rushing yards all year.

How the Falcons can win: Stop Aaron Rodgers. The Falcons won the only meeting between the two teams back in week 12 but Aaron Rodgers absolutely torched them through the air and on the ground. Rodgers completed 74% of passes going 26/35 for 344 yards with a TD, and rushed 12 times for 51 yards with a TD. Brandon Jackson was extremely ineffective rushing 10 times for 26 yards. Nobody seems to really know how to stop Rodgers, but I know the Falcons are working on how to do that as we speak. Can't really blitz the guy because he'll run all over you but the Falcons need to find a way to slow him down. I guess they can use the Jets offensive approach and run the ball and keep Rodgers on the sidelines

LiLbRo's Prediction: Matty Ice doesn't lose at home and the Georgia Dome will be loud. Should be an exciting game with a lot of young talent (Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Greg Jennings, Roddy White), but the Falcons will find a way to win a tight one 31-27.

KeithyP's Prediction: The road to the Superbowl goes through Atlanta, and Atlanta is putting up road blocks. The Falcons are just to well rounded on offense and the Packers lack of a run game hurts them. The Falcons win with a great balanced offensive attack and beat the Packers 28-24.

Ras-i Dowling CB Virginia -

Houston needs all the help they can get in the secondary and Ras-i can cover receivers better than most NFL CBs.

There are plenty of DBs to be looked at in this draft(Jimmy Smith), but I really like Ras-i. At 6'2 he can match up with taller receivers, and at 200 lbs he can bump and run the smaller recievers.

CBS has him ranked 10th, but I disagree

The Carolina Panthers Select..

A.J. Green, WR Georgia.

The Panthers really didn't need Andrew Luck and I think him going back to school is the best thing for them. Jimmy Clausen might not pan out, but if you give him enough options, I am sure he can help your team. A.J. Green is not my top pick, but I really can see the Panthers selecting him here because they have no other options at WR besides an aging Steve Smith. To me, Fairley would be the pick but the Panthers need an instant impact player on the offensive side of the ball.

Is this silly to think the Panthers would select a WR first overall??

Giants need to sign Leon Washington

With all the trouble we had returning kickoffs and punts, Leon Washington is the answer! He is a proven return guy, and he adds to the RB depth chart.

DJ Ware might be gone, so he can be our 3rd string back and this way we can focus the draft on other needs like LB, OLine, CB and Safties.

Washington can give us something that we have not had ....ever? Who was our last great kick returner?

What do you guys think??
