Kellyn Acosta and Brek Shea nominated for US Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year.
Some FC Dallas Academy highlights in here...
Soler said that RBNY twice approached FC Dallas about trading for Dax McCarty last year.
FCDallas.com: There are many Colombians at FC Dallas in Jair Benitez, Milton Rodriguez and David Ferreira. Did you already know them?
Castillo: Well, I only know Jair and Milton, but David I do not know. I don’t have a friendship with them but they are very happy, and if I get to know them I know I will like them. I am sure we are going to have a wonderful time.
"My first choice is to play for a west coast team in MLS but really, just whoever needs a wide midfielder," he [Guy] concluded. "I know this is going to be a long process but my immediate goal is to play in MLS and my lofty goal is to catch the eyes of the national team which I think can help me meet my long-term goal of playing for one of the main European clubs."
LA Galaxy Trade Forward Tristan Bowen to Chivas USA
Galaxy get allocation money and half of any future transfer. Wouldn't have minded seeing him in Stripes, but hopefully there are some nice international signings coming.

Sunday Morning Roundup
Mavericks' win streak ends with a dud, 128-94 loss to Knicks | Sefko - DMN
"Players in this league have a lot of pride," said Dirk Nowitzki, who had 20 points and 12 rebounds. "They remembered that game. "We haven't played that well the last two games. We snuck one out against New Jersey and then this happened. Sometimes, a loss like this can help. It brings everybody back to earth a little."
Knicks' Harrington: 'Revenge is sweet' | ESPN Dallas
"Revenge is sweet sometimes," said Al Harrington, one of four Knicks who scored at least 20 points. "That’s a really good team over there, but we just caught them at the right time. They were ripe for the picking. "When you’ve had that much success, and you know the Knicks are coming in and you feel you can score a 150 points on them in your sleep, that team didn’t show up today."
Mavs loss not shocking - and here's why | Sefko - DMN
They played eight of the 13 games at American Airlines Center, which had been extremely Mav-friendly since the All-Star break. More telling is the victims in the streak had a combined 383-468 record. That's the definition of underwhelming.
Mavs Follow 50-Point Over Knicks With This? That Never Happens! (Does It?) | DB.com
It does seem outrageous, doesn’t it? A Mavs team that in its last meeting with the Knicks won by 50 follows it up with Saturday’s 128-94 loss at home to end an NBA-season-best 13-game success streak? This sort of thing has never happened before! Except … yes, it has. In fact, this sort of thing happens EVERY TIME a team beats another team by 50.
Mavericks' Jet not cleared for takeoff, but he's on runway | Sefko - DMN
"I'm looking at [playing] next week. We got two games and one of those two, I'll definitely be ready to go." The Mavericks play Chicago on Wednesday and Boston on Saturday. Terry wore a protective mask during his first practice back and has a custom mask on the way.

Mavericks riding rookie Beaubois' wave | ESPN Dallas
"He played great. He had like 18 in that third quarter for us, which was a big lift," Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said. "He hit timely shots for us then when the Bulls were on a run. We're going to need him to continue playing like that with Jet out." "It feels pretty good," Beaubois said. "I've gotten the opportunity to play so I'm trying to be aggressive; just play. My teammates have given me good passes. My coaches, everybody, have been helpful."
Sunday Mavs Donuts! One-Of-A-Kind Numbers | Mike Fisher - DB.com
The statistical oddity that is Jason Kidd surfaced again in the Mavericks’ win at Chicago on Saturday. While everyone else was going nuts with the scoring (Dallas shot 56 percent, Dirk/Caron/Roddy combined for 75 points and even Eddie was in double figures with 11), J-Kidd was contributing 11 rebounds and 15 assists. What’s the big whoop? Kidd is the only player in NBA this year with a rebounds/assists double-double … and he’s done it four times.
For the short-handed Mavericks, less was best in win over Bulls | Sefko - DMN
the Mavericks have faith in Najera, who gave them plenty of solid minutes against the Bulls. Second, bringing in another player would have provided six more fouls. But when you look at the Mavericks' upcoming schedule – plus the fact that Erick Dampier should return this week – it's not real obvious that they have a need for more beef. And, while it's subjective, there may be another benefit to not bringing in an unfamiliar body. Going into a game with only nine healthy players can be a terrific bonding agent.
Mavs QUOTEBOARD: Caron On Win At Chicago | DB.com
Caron on the 11-game win streak "I’m enjoying it. A great feeling. I haven’t been a part of something like this ever.’’
Beat goes on: Out-manned Mavericks win 11th straight | Sefko - DMN
The Mavericks scored on seven of eight possessions at one late stage, which was a good thing because they couldn't stop the Bulls, particularly Derrick Rose. "We were really small," said Nowitzki, who hit five of his last six shots and finished with 27 points. "We just couldn't get any stops. We were using trick defenses and some zones, but they kept scoring. But we shared the ball well, had 31 assists, and I think that's a sign of a bunch of guys who want to play with each other."

Depleted, not defeated: Short-handed Mavs win 10th straight | Sefko DMN
In a sequence of three possessions, Beaubois threw in a 3-pointer, drove by 7-1 center Spencer Hawes for a traditional three-point play and finished off a fast break with another score. Beaubois' show energized the Mavericks. "We needed that extra energy Roddy brings," Marion said. Beaubois has had two consecutive strong games. The telling statistic is the Mavericks have had a 16-point advantage with Beaubois playing and have been outscored by five points with him on the bench.
Mavericks' Kidd doesn't catch many breaks | DMN
Carlisle understands the importance of not burning Kidd to a crisp before the playoffs. Carlisle does not plan on giving Kidd another game off but would like to keep his minutes in the mid-30s range. "Any time we try to talk about a number, it goes up," Kidd said. "The thing is being fresh, but we have to win games now and not worry about the playoffs. We can rest all summer."
Haywood day-to-day; Wafer walks | Jeff Caplan - ESPN Dallas
Center Brendan Haywood experienced stiffness in his lower back Friday morning and then tweaked it on the game's opening jump ball. He left for good after playing just seven minutes in the first quarter. Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said Haywood is day-to-day, leaving his status for Saturday night's game at Chicago uncertain.
Saturday Morning Mavs Donuts: 'The Streak Is Alive!' | DB.com
Von Wafer apparently won't be re-upped as his 10-day contract is expiring. Tim Thomas is unavailable, Damp is still more than a week away from returning, Big Wood could only go for seven minutes, Dirk had to play some 5 and Eddie Najera (being stretched to 26 minutes but unfortunately not able to stretch beyond 6-8) is suddenly the most important character to come out of New Jersey since Tony Soprano. Dallas needs a body.
Dallas Mavericks representatives declined formal comment Sunday, but one source briefed on the discussions told ESPN.com that Ilgauskas' agent, Herb Rudoy, has informed the Mavericks that Ilgauskas intends to re-sign with the Cavaliers as soon as he's eligible.
The Jason Kidd Saturday Roundup
Pretty amazing performance by Kidd last night -- hope you were able to see it. 19 points, 16 rebounds, 17 assists, 2 steals. In the fourth quarter alone he had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Then he added four more rebounds and another assist during overtime...
The last time a player had a 15+/15+/15+ triple-double was 1996 -- and it was Jason Kidd (box score). And via mavsstats, since 1986 only four players have had a 19p/15r/15a triple-double -- Magic (twice), Bird, Lever, and Jason Kidd (twice).
And oh yeah, Dirk had 37 and 9.

Mavs 111, Hawks 103: The Genius Of Jason Kidd, As Described By, Among Others, Del Harris | DB.com
But the hero of the night was Kidd, who has been terrific in all seven games since the All-Star Break and the Wizards trade (his scoring numbers: 12, 10, 10, 18, 21, 14 and now 19). Here he outplayed everybody on the floor (19 points, 17 assists and 16 rebounds gives him his 104th triple-double of his career, third most behind only Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson) … and on one occasion outplayed one guy who wasn’t supposed to be on the floor. ''The coach is not supposed to be on the floor,'' Kidd said. ''You see that a lot in games. The NBA has so many rules, and there is a coaching box, and some of the coaches do stretch that box. For me, it's just a reaction. Make something happen. It was a big play for us. … I thought from there, mentally, we took control of the game.’’
Kidd's savvy coach bump kept Mavs' winning streak alive | Sefko - DMN
"Ask Joe Johnson or any of their players, if they had a chance to do the same thing, they would," he said. "If they thought of it." That's a huge if.
Technical assistance helps Mavericks OT win over Hawks | Sefko - DMN
Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 37 points, hit the free throw on the technical foul. Without it, the Mavericks might not have made it to overtime, where they scored the first seven points and didn't allow the Hawks to score until under a minute was left and the win was in hand. "He's the smartest player I've ever seen," Nowitzki said. Coach Rick Carlisle also had high praise. "I don't know if there's ever been a smarter player in this league," Carlise [sic] said. "There may be a few equals. Magic Johnson, Bird, Jordan, a few others. But I tell you, to have the presence of mind to make that happen at a critical situation is just amazing."
The Hawks lose on a night when losing seemed impossible | Mark Bradley - AJC
The Mavs dusted off their zone — Jamal Crawford: “They saved it for the end; that was smart on their part” — and the Hawks could do nothing against it. Horford: “They couldn’t guard us one-on-one.” But that’s the point. The Mavs overrode their weakness. As Woodson noted, the Hawks “controlled the game until the six- or seven-minute mark.” Then they threw it away.
Woodson takes the hit as Kidd, Mavs stun Hawks | ajc.com
The Hawk said Kidd’s collision with Woodson and the technical foul shifted the game’s momentum. “It kind of changed the game, but that’s not what lost the game for us,” Johnson said. “They went zone, and we couldn’t get no continuity on offense.”
Jason Kidd's unusually clever play | John Hollinger - ESPN
Kidd’s veteran move was one of two rare plays he contributed to in the fourth to help rally Dallas from a 13-point deficit in the last five and a half minutes of regulation. The other was a five-point play with 4:50 to go that cut Atlanta’s lead from 11 to six. First, Dallas got a foul and basket from Brendan Haywood. When he missed the subsequent free throw, Kidd grabbed the offensive rebound and quickly pitched it out to an open Jason Terry, who sank a 3.
Kidd's scoring key to Mavs winning | Jeff Caplan - ESPN Dallas
Kidd's recent point surge has his season average nearing 10.0 a game. It took him until Feb. 5 to take his scoring average consistently into the 9-point-a-game range. When's he's scored in double figures this season, the Mavs are 20-10. More critical is Kidd posting 14 points or more. When he does, the Mavs are 10-3, including 4-0 in the seven games since the All-Star break.
Mavericks' Caron Butler says he'll play Sunday | DMN
After the game, Butler said: "I'm feeling better. I'll be out there Sunday."

Sources: Mavericks to work out D-Leaguer Dwayne Jones
"The Dallas Mavericks are bringing in a D-League rebounding machine to audition for the sudden vacancy created by Erick Dampier's finger injury.
Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that the Mavericks will work out Dwayne Jones of the Austin Toros later Tuesday and sign him to a 10-day contract if they like what they see...
...Scouts regard Jones as a non-scorer -- virtually all of his D-League scoring comes through his work on the offensive glass -- but he has legit NBA size and an unquestioned ability to rebound."
In three previous NBA stints with Boston, Cleveland and Charlotte, Jones has appeared in 80 games but only averaged 1.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 7.9 minutes.
