Granted, we're only talking a grand total of two, but Florida's Radek Dvorak - who's missed the past two and a half weeks while a resident on the Cats' injured list - somehow remains the NHL leader (statistically) in short-handed goals scored.

D-Vo's 2 in nine games ties him with four other players from around the league (Milan Michalek, Rick Nash, Jerred Smithson, and David Jones), though all have participated in 14 games or more.

Dvorak is expected to return to Florida's lineup Thursday in Boston.

Had a feeling about this guy ever since the Cats waived him in September of '08 during a rather strong training camp, if I recall correctly.

Anyway, you wanted muscle? Here ya are. Even at 250 pounds, he's no heavyweight, but brings an element missing since Nick Tarnasky's unfortunate meld with a Chris Neil fist what seems like forever ago. MacIntyre's goods can be found at HockeyFights. Some funny stuff at their bulletin boards, as well.

Well, what's your take? Does this solve the "physicality" issue? Or just another variation of Whack-a-Mole?

Speculation over an apparent divide between Florida coach Peter DeBoer and ~~defenseman~~ forward Ville Koistinen has reached a new low: watching his minutes drop from game to game, he was finally benched for the Panthers' visit to Washington on Saturday.

The Miami Herald reports his two shifts that evening represented a season-low, even following the loss of forward Gregory Campbell to an injury.

On top of the Clemmensen Fiasco, is this yet another case of a coach and his player not reading from the same book?
