Bob McNair interview that covers the offseason, coaching staff, expectations for the future and how he runs his organization. I found this to be an enjoyable read.

Arian Foster broke three tackles and delivered a baby on his way to the NFL Network studios for this interview.

While I'm not a fan of his taste in defensive coaches (until hopefully this season) I am definitely a fan of Gary Kubiak, the human being. This is a great NFL and USO tradition. Cheers and happy Fourth!

Saw this via Alan Burge's twitter. I don't have a problem with this at all. If anything, I envy him. But I definitely don't envy the backlash that might ensue...

Geez... even LDJA12 has found a thing or two two write about. Not that I'd know if someone hadn't posted a link on the front page with no warning...

Cliff notes: Author is ready for football. Has nothing to write about because there's no football. If there were football it would be easy to write about something. Random Roger Goddell quote. Frustration. Still has blogger job at Chron somehow.

The new cheerleader squad has been selected. Kayla, Loren and Kelli are sure to be the favorites here. Though the tiny looking Amanda is sure to please whoever is lucky enough to be pleased by her. *sigh*

A nice article on what teh Schaub is doing to make sure the team is in shape and ready to play when the time comes.

Thanks, WhiskeyR, and it's just another reason to love Schaub. ~ bfd

Battle Red Blog David Anderson writing weekly for the Chronice

Very cool. It should be interesting to get his perspective - he's humble and funny and though he is in the middle of the depth chart, he definitely adds a lot to the team. His viewpoints should be very engaging from an insiders perspective.

Here's his first short article: David Anderson's first article at the Houston Chronicle

I also need about twenty more words to make this fanpost... so hey, remember that time Andre Johnson beat the crap out of Cortland Finnegan? You have to be a seriously certifiable douche bag for 'Dre to beat the crap out of you. If there were ever any question, 'Dre beating the crap out of him solidified Finnegan's douchebaggery....

The Dream Shake Luis Scola Basketball Camp - May  21-22

Hi All,

I'd just like to let everybody who doesn't already know that there will be a special basketball camp with Luis Scola this coming weekend at League America on Houston's west side.

I usually only post on the football side of SB Nation, at Battle Red blog and if there were an Andre Johnson Camp I figure we'd want to know about it, so I figured I'd give y'all a heads up.

Details of the camp are at: http://www.leagueamerica.net

Battle Red Blog Cush - 2 Time DROY

I knew this would happen. I love it. Only person in history to have won the award twice. Everyone is overreacting about this whole thing to begin with. It is nice to see him retain his award. Wish we could get him back for the first 4 games though....

Battle Red Blog Kubiak

i'm going to go against the current grain here and express my support for Kubiak.

Before the season started, many of us though we'd have a shot at the division - others thought we'd need another year to make the playoffs. As a franchise and a fan base we're quite optimistic about our chances when we look at the pieces we have in place as a team. But what we do not have in place is an ability to overcome the difficulties every single team faces in an NFL season.

We're not immune to injuries, bad calls, a 7-4 team going 11-0 in our division, turnovers, illness, difficult match-ups, missed field goals, 1 yard line fumbles, underestimating other teams or helping Vince Young hang the fucking moon again.

Its the NFL. It ain't easy. This year we are in some very close games and having a tough time finishing. We need to finish. But in years past, we'd have not even been close.

Kubiak has greatly improved this team from its 2-14 days. We have a short memory about that it seems. He turned Matt Schaub into a nearly elite QB. He (and Smith) drafted defensively and still built a very good offense. The defense is on the rise, the whole team is - as long as we look longer than 3 weeks past.

There have been plenty of mistakes. Many are on Kubiak. But he doesn't deserve quite as much criticism as he is getting. Its fun to play armchair coach and everything, when we're watching replays on our HDTVs and blaming Kubiak when the guy in the booth doesn't see something. But its not all his fault, and he's got our team on the right track. We're getting close and I think he can turn that corner.

I say give him another year. There are a lot of teams moving backwards. We're moving forward from year to year. Lets wait it out.

Battle Red Blog Poll: Who sucked more?

Dunta sucked last night. Kris Brown sucked last night. Dunta seemed to get burned like he was Cortland Finnegan. Kris Brown missed 2 field goals. The last second field goal he missed is the second time in a row he could have tied a game for us but didn't come through. So answer the poll and leave your opinions in the comments. I'm torn, but I'm saying Dunta sucked more. No, Maybe Kris Brown. I feel like Favre. I can't decide.

Poll
Who sucked more on MNF?
Dunta Robinson
39 votes
Kris Brown

Battle Red Blog MNF Watching Party (Free Beer, $10 Cover)

For anyone not making it to the game, there is a watching party going on tonight at Gerall's Italian-American Grille, located inside of League America (a large family oriented sports complex near I-10 & West Belt).

$10 includes free beer (limit 4, but if you're not a crazy drunk they're likely to be lenient, plus you can bring your own), a great Pizza and Pasta dinner buffet and lots of fun!

So if you can't make it to the game, this is a good idea. A friend of mine owns the place.

Battle Red Blog D-Rob Reporting

Sweet! The Chronice reports that Dunta Robinson will report for a physical tomorrow (Sunday) morning. Here's the link. Looked like he intends to cash in on his measly $10 Million after all. It is also rumored that he'll be laughing all the way t the bank once we find out he is still hurt and basically a glorified cheerleader. Lets hope those reports are wrong.

Also in other breaking news, Fuck Dunta.

That is all.

Battle Red Blog Worst Texans Coverage

Has anyone noticed how uttery fucking TERRIBLE the Houston Press Texans coverage is? Fuck. Every time there is a Texans article - its like they're main goal is out-douchbagging Richard Justice.

The constant complaing about Kubiak and his Denver connections are tiresome enough. But I firmly believe that these dipshits are behind the "We Want Sage!" chants and banners last year.

Otherwise its a decent publication - you know, if you flip past all the transsexual rub down ads...
