Replacing Players: Defense
As we know all too well, Chelsea’s foundation of players is getting older(JT's hips aren't going to hold up forever). Couple that with the poor performance of this season(Bosingwa and Cole more often than not) as well as AVB’s recent exit and it seems that CFC is going to be in the market for a new defender (or 2).
Keeping in mind the upcoming FFP rules aren’t going to allow the club to throw truckloads of money at prospective players anymore, and Graham’s 2 contract idea (which does make both long-term financial and team? sense) who are some of the defenders that you would like to see Chelsea target?
Replacing Players: Midfield
As we know all too well, Chelsea’s foundation of players is getting older(Lampard/Malouda). Couple that with the poor performance (pretty much everybody not named Ramires or Essien) of this season as well as AVB’s recent exit and it seems that CFC is going to be in the market for a new midfielder(or 2). Keeping in mind the upcoming FFP rules aren’t going to allow the club to throw truckloads of money at prospective players anymore, and Graham’s 2 contract idea (which does make both long-term financial and team? sense) who are some of the midfielders that you would like to see Chelsea target?
Replacing Players: Strikers
As we know all too well, Chelsea’s foundation of players is getting older. Couple that with the poor performance of this season as well as AVB’s recent exit and it seems that CFC is going to be in the market for a new striker (or 2). Keeping in mind the upcoming FFP rules aren’t going to allow the club to throw truckloads of money at prospective players anymore, and Graham’s 2 contract idea (which does make both long-term financial and team? sense) who are some of the strikers that you would like to see Chelsea target?
For this post, let’s stick to strikers, I’ll be working on similar posts for midfield and defense later on.
An Introduction Thread
• Where you’re from, where you’re currently living
• How you became a Hawkeye fan, and/or your favorite Hawkeye athlete/ team, favorite game
• Your favorite soccer team ( if you have one) or any other sports teams that you follow
• Favorite kind of booze (if applicable), Music, Movies/TV shows, Books, etc. Feel free to include any other tidbits about yourself.
I’ll start. My name is Ben, I’m 22, an unemployed chef/cook (so much for having 2 degrees) looking for work. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, although I spent 6 months last year living in Montana, and in all likelihood am headed back that way in the next few months.
I was born into the Hawkeye Family, as you can tell from my avatar, my favorite player is Tim Dwight, namely because he’s the only player from the 90s that I remember. My favorite season was 2002; my favorite game was the 2005 Capital One Bowl, mostly because I was there.
I am also a huge soccer fan, specifically Chelsea, as noted above.
Alcohol is kind of a passion of mine, especially wine (mostly Pinot Noir), whiskey (especially bourbon), and of course beer.
I’ve been on a classic country kick for a while; Waylon, Willie, Dwight, etc. I also enjoy the more current Jamey Johnson, Mumford and Sons and Euforquestra. My current favorite movies is/are Tombstone/Wyatt Erp. I have too many favorite TV shows to list, and don’t read enough to have a favorite book.
Go crazy folks.

Who's Number 1.
I'm sitting here watching the Iowa women destroy Illinois, and commercials are running for Big Ten Icons, the latest entry is Magic Johnson, who sits at number 2. My question to all of you is, Who is number 1? Also how well do you think the BTN did in ranking the Big Ten Icons? What would you change? My view after the jump.
So I got this email today

Favorite beers and spirits
I turn 21 today, so my question to all of you is, what beers and/or spirits or wines (that I probably haven't heard of) should I be looking into purchasing? I figured its summer, there isn't much Iowa-related news happening right now, so I thought what better way to kill time than talk about booze. Price isn't really an issue, well it is, but for discussion purposes who really cares. Thanks.
Awesome stuff found on eBay
Found this on eBay, thought people here would appreciate it.
Anybody know of any Hawkeye bars in Wyoming?
I'm going to be moving to Moran, Wyoming next week, just wondering if anybody knows of any Hawkeye gathering spots in the area.
