I'm glad we don't have this troublemaker on our team anymore! Maybe Blatche could give him some advice on keeping his nose clean!

Bullets Forever My Miami experiment or "The Peninsula isn't mightier"

What would happen if I unleashed all my frustration of the Crab Dribbler and the Miami Cheat on the "Peninsula is Mightier" SBNation Blog?  Would my crazed ranting cause untold ridicule and brimstone to fall on me?   Would my premise of a franchise wide conspiracy within the Heat and the charges of collusion with the Super Friends make my comments page explode?  Continue after the jump to find out!

Peninsula is Mightier LeBron isn't hated just for the "Decision" OR The Splinter in my mind!

This fanpost isn't the greatest attempt at being objective nor is it just spewing jealous hatred at the Miami Heat, but I think it is how most of the NBA fans feel about the "South Beach Situation"!  I must give a full disclosure at this time before you read any further....I am a lowly Washington Wizards fan who begrudges LeBron for his supreme talent but only because I love watching NBA basketball and root for my team relentlessly!  I want to give some perspective to all who will listen on the reason I think everyone hates LeBron and the whole Heat team.....and it may not be what you think!  Jump

Bullets Forever The Shame of the Super Team

In late June I posted a fan post outlining my Free Agent quandary!...The possibility of D Wade, Bosh and LeTravel all being on the same team.  I wrote of some ramifications, speculations and general whining.....

Now my nightmare has become reality!!  How can this be allowed?  Is this a violation of the "spirit of the game"?  Are we in an era where teams are manufactured by players, in a way that can not be done by management...all of the elites go to one team!  This would be  to the detriment of the fans of the weaker (most) teams in my opinion!   Jump

3 or 4 championships, by default, cause the're that good!

1 or 2 championships, too many egos keep them from working well together

lots of infighting and resentment, somehow LeBron's mom is involved..0 championships

Best case scenario: total implosion, Lebron's knees blow out, D-Wade turns in "Hotplate" Williams and Bosh demands a trade to a new SuperGroup

How I love to bash on the Crab Dribbler and the rest of the FAs!

Bullets Forever Could my faith in the NBA be shaken further? My FA quandary!

I need some help to figure this out!

I am watching the Free Agent landscape begin to change very soon...The Crab Dribbler  will be playing somewhere else (mostly likely) for the next few years.  This in itself isn't a problem, other than my natural prejudice against LeTravel, except for this fact:  Could there be a pact between several FAs to all sign on the same team!  Could Bron Bron, D-Wade, Chris Bosh all head to Miami and start a ridiculous dynasty unseen since the 80s?  Could the same happen in Chicago?  In NY?  etc...  This is all old news just bear with me and follow along.

Here's my BEEF.......Jump

Bullets Forever 2001 NBA draft

Hate to bring it up but NBA TV is replaying the 2001 draft today at 4pm....Kwame Brown anyone?!  I know when I heard we had the first pick I thought championships would be coming our way.  I figured Michael Jordan would lead us to a dynasty, unfortunately it was just plain nasty!  I'm much older now and supposedly wiser, hindsight would tell us to pick Pau Gasol.  Anyway, does the trauma of the 2001 draft make you nervous about this years #1 pick?

Poll
How do you feel about the #1 pick in light of the 2001 draft results?
I got that sinking feeling! The Bullets will mess it up somehow! The pessimist

It's a homerun! There is no way you can screw this up! The optimist

What's the point, with Ernie running the show they'll somehow trade the pick anyway! The apathetic Bullets fan

Bullets Forever 2009-10 Awards

These are some of the observations that I've made throughout the season, so I took them and made an awards show out it!  Hope you like...please add to the categories or make your own!!!!

1. Allen Iverson "I've never seen a shot I didn't like" award.  For the player who shoots the ball every time he touches it.  If it's in his hands, chalk up a shot attempt!  Winner:  Al Thornton

2. The Harlem Globetrotters award.   For that player  that pounds the air out of the ball and doesn't really go anywhere.  Unfortunately he isn't playing against the Generals isn't as entertaining either.  Winner:  Earl Boykins

3. Mark McGuire/Sammy Sosa Award.  For the player who needs to take whatever substance that Andray Blatche is presently taking, so he can take that next step and become a real man on the court!

Winner:  Big Daddy Wookie aka Javale McGee.  Update...he may have finally found Dray's stash!

4. Anna Nicole Smith Award.   For the player who takes advantage of the situation presented. With every player worth anything traded away you better take the reigns!  Though I hope he doesn't marry an 90 y.o. billionaire nor develop a fatal prescription drug habit!  I guess that really didn't work out for Anna!               Winner:  Andray Blatche

5 John Mayer/Tony Kornheiser award.  Goes to the player just didn't know when to stop talking, whether it's about Jessica Simpson(Mayer)/Hannah Storm(Kornheiser)/or the Gun show in DC.  Dude, just shut up!  You've said enough already!  Winner:  Gilbert Arenas.   Update...He shut up!

6. Pamela Anderson award. Given to the player with the most pump fakes before taking a jump shot.  I think the correlation with Pam Anderson is that hers are just plain fake.... Winner:  Caron Butler

7. Mike Prada award. Given to the player who's blog I enjoyed reading the most...even though he had to give it up for saying some controversial comments.  I thought they were very insightful.                                                      Winner:  Brenden Todd Haywood on Yardbarker

8. The Stephen Jackson award.  Given to the player/s who should know better than play with guns and thinking it's not that serious.                                                                                                                Multiple winners:  1st Gilbert Arenas-DUH, 2nd Javaris Crittenton-DUH, 3rd and most puzzling, the rest of the team for laughing up the infamous "finger guns" incident!  C'mon man!

9. The "Give me back my Fillet o' Fish" award.  To the person who had his dream season(Fillet O' Fish) taken away from him.  Winner:  Flip Saunders

10. The Shaqtus award. To that player who got traded (like Shaq) to help the Crab dribbler fulfill the fantasy of winning a championship.  Winner:  Antawn Jamison

11. The Lindsey Lohan Award.    Goes to those trainwrecks who are ONLY a moment from crashing and burning!

WINNERS:   The Bullets/Wizards fans, specifically those who post on BULLETS  FOREVER!                       Update:  Ted Leonsis bought the team!  There is hope for us yet in BULLETS REHAB!

See what other awards you can up with!

Bullets Forever Trades, guns, Tuff Juice, Puff Daddy etc...

Being a Bullets fan since 1991 I've experienced the highs and lows (mostly lows) of a frustrating franchise!  But like most of you on this site, you followed them no matter what.  And then something special happened...

Gilbert came to town....

The Wiz suddenly had national significance and people started asking me about the team (even my little sister started watching games)!  I became the resident expert on Washington pro ball, the excitement was off the charts!

Then the injuries started, then the losses then the firings, then the ENDLESS promises of "wait till we're all healthy"!

This year has been the most frustrating, we had good players and very little results, and I was baffled!  I couldn't explain it...then Abe passed away.  No disrespect, but I always thought Abe Pollin held the team back by holding the purse strings to tight, until this last group (Gil,Caron....)  But he was a great man in the DC area!  Then when Gil played with guns in the locker room, I KNEW... it was over!!!  Trades happened, like I had never seen before!!Goodbye Tuff Juice, goodbye BTH, then deshawn and even the Captain went to that evil place with the Crab dribbler!  errr!   Even Gilbert was placed in limbo...

It was surreal, I was devastated!!  What did we get back??  A puff smoking, anthem hatin', street racer from Wake and players I had never payed any attention to!  Was I going to forsake the Bullets and follow Dallas through the playoffs or watch Cleveland win a championship and root for them?  I tried to watch those teams after the trades and I couldn't get into it!   Those players that I loved to cheer for didn't have the same appeal...WHAT was I to do?!

I did the thing that I always ended up doing, even though I know it's painful and I still do it year after year....

I TURNED ON THE BULLETS GAME!  I see players that I don't know, doing things that I see other teams do...  playing defense, playing with high energy, the bench cheering, the fans cheering, the coaching running over to help his player up after a hustle play!   Then I had the feeling that maybe things will be ok....

I just wanted the players to play the game like they mean it and with some heart!  I think that's what was bothering me with this years team...

NO HEART!!!

So welcome Puff Daddy, welcome Florida State guy, Mr. Singleton and that guy named Quinton...

The one thing that I realized is...it doesn't really matter who plays for us,

I'll always be A BULLETS FAN

Sorry for too many words and too much sap but I needed to get that off my chest!
