Drew Sharp is a TOOL
Drew Sharp over at Detroit Free Press called Suh's hit on Delhomme an irresponsible cheap shot and called the NFL gutless for not suspending him.
How bout them Wolverines!!
After a long off-season of drama, transfers, injuries, and concerns, Michigan looked impressive in their home opener beating UConn 30-10. Denard Robinson looks like a new QB who has settled into Rich Rod's offense quite nicely. Robinson finished off the day with 186 yards passing, 197 yards rushing, and a passing and rushing TD. He was very efficient going 19 for 22 passing the ball. The defense played well, although I still have many concerns on defense. Obi Ezeh looks like he is going to have a bounce back year. Go Blue!!

Risky Trade?
The Giants are reporting that they have acquired Sage Rosenfels for and undisclosed 2011 pick as well as a 2012 conditional pick. The Viqueens also included Darius Reynaud in the trade. Farve looks brittle and I doubt that he will stay healthy all year. TJack is not the answer otherwise Childress would have let him take the reigns. I thought their best option at backup QB was Rosenfels. . .and now he's gone.
In other NFC North news, it looks like the Bears have contacted last years third round pick with intentions to cut him. Juaquin Iglesias has only been with the team one year and they are going to cut him. I thought this was relevant to the debate on POD about Derrick Williams. I think the Lions' patience will pay off with Williams. I also hope Iglesias lands with another team, not in our division, and blows up just to spite the Bears.
Thoughts?
Aug 6 5:48 ET - "After the rest of the Lions left the practice field, DT Sammie Hill spent 15 minutes alone hitting the blocking sled. Hill had a stellar start to camp, but lost his first team reps to Ndamukong Suh. Hill seems intent on outworking Corey Williams for a starting spot."
Welcome Back Chris Chelios
Chris Chelios is coming back to the Wings, but have no fear, its not as a player. Ken Holland apparently promised Cheli a job while he was playing for the team. It seems Holland is making good on his promise by bring Chelios into a front office position.
“He’ll do a little scouting, player development, act as an ambassador,’’ general manager Ken Holland said. “He’s going to come in and learn the business. Maybe (coach) Mike Babcock can use him at times.’’
Considering Cheli's experience not only with hockey, but with the Red Wings organization as a whole, I think this is a great move. It brings a future HOF to our front office to contribute in anyway possible. Another solid move Holland.

It's all about the money
This is my first post, so go easy on me. I was just reading how the Vikings are throwing more money at Favre in desperate hope that he will play another season. They now are reportedly offering a 40+ year old Brett Favre 16 million a year plus incentives based on performance. I am sure this story is far from over and I am not even sure that we have seen the last of Brett (although I hope he stays retired). I think this shows how desperate the Vikings are at the quarterback position. I know Childress is always talking up Tarvaris Jackson but he is very inconsistent as is Sage Rosenfels.
