Windy City Gridiron My Chicago Bears 2009 draft and free agent wishlist

I'm not an NFL Gm but today I will pretend to be one. As far as free agency goes I see some talent that's going under the radar. One wide receiver who intrigues me is Malcom Floyd from the Chargers. He has freakish athleticism and every time he's put in the spotlight he shines. Not to mention the fact that he's 6'5". I think the Bears should try and match what ever offer the Chargers make to him because he is a RFA. Since the Bears would like Omiyale to compete for a guard spot initially I would like to see them bring another tackle in to compete for a spot. Maybe Elton Brown, Wesley Britt, or even Marc Columbo. The Patriots must obviously seen something in Britt because they haven't let him go. God knows they have developed some really good offensive lineman so he might be a sleeper. Elton Brown showed much promise coming out of college. He's listed as a tackle but I remember him being a guard. Bringing in some more biggins to compete for positions is never a problem for me. And then there's Marc Columbo. He's started all 16 games for the past 3 seasons and although he is 30 he still has a couple good years left considering he got such a late start playing. As far as safety goes I like Jermaine Phillips and Sean Jones. Both are hitters who make plays when they are on the field. Here's my wish list for the draft along with these pick ups.

Round 1) Hakeem Nicks WR North Carolina- IMHO he's the most complete wideout in the draft

Round 2) Connor Barwin DE Cincinatti- Sick athlete and he only played one year at D-end after transferring over from TE

Round 3) Herman Johnson OG LSU BEAST

Round 3) Louis Murphy WR Florida- Has all the measurables but his work ethic has been questioned in the past. After turning everything around he scored 7 touchdowns in an offense that didn't had plenty of stars.

Round 4) Jon Casillas- OLB Wisconsin Fast Strong Linebacker with good coverage skills

Video

Round 5) Asher Allen CB Georgia- Great in coverage and ran a 4.47 at the combine

Video

Round 6) Jason Watkins T Florida- Raw Talent with big upside

Round 7) Chip Vaughn FS Wake Forest-

Sign Willie Tuitama QB from Arizona. Should be a sleeper!
