"I don’t know why we would be playing second fiddle. We’ve won," Parise said defiantly. "They’ve been around longer. They’ve got the media. They have a huge fan base.
But if you go on winning alone it’s not really a contest – if you compare how many times this team has won compared to them in the last little while."

Dallas "Public Enemy" voting
Was looking at this because I saw Eli was on it. Than I noticed he was facing Jerry Jones. Than I realized close to half of the guys on it were former Dallas players. Glad to be a Giants fan than those guys down south
Welker's drop in slow motion, set to sad music
Seriously watch this. It's quite moving, even if it is the Pats who messed up

BBV Pick 'em SUPAH BOWL
Well I'm a slacker and meant to put something up last week so we could make predictions on the pro bowl for the laughs. (*grumble grumble college grumble*)
Weird how it's already 3 days before the Super Bowl, as it feels like only yesterday we were wondering whether the crappy offense in the preseason would carry over in the regular season.
Yet, it feels so long since the last game.
The majority voted for the CC games to be worth 2 points and the Superbowl 4, so that's what I'm going to do. However I'm just going to put the wrong category as the number wrong, not points lost.
Got both right: sv1031, Amsterdam Admirals, Willgfass, BrooksBridges11, maraman, telcochik2, j-man,, Larry Soprano, TNYGFBG (9 picks)
Giants Right: wangstu13, SM (I know you probably would have picked the Pats but I didn't see it beneath your Packers over 49ers), Plaxico Burress, Rorschach44, netsareboss, tommy d., edzilla, jcalafiore (8 picks)
No one got the Giants pick wrong, thankfully
Standings:
11-1: Larry Soprano, Amsterdam Admirals, TNYFBG
10-2: Willgfass, telcochik2, sv1031,
9-3: Brooks bridges11, maraman, wangstu13, j-man
8-3: Netsareboss, jcalafiore
7-3: Plaxico Burress, Tommy d., Rorschach44, 1giantlion
5-5: Simms McConkey (unless I missed where he picked the Pats)
4-0 Bobbieblue (no picks first or last week)
3-1: lboogie25 (no picks last two weeks)
Unless someone wants to test our wrath by being a contrarian, this is probably our final standings
So what do we want to do for tiebreakers? Name the MVP? First player to score? First Giant to score? All of the above?

Super Rematch for all the Lombardis: Ask a Giants Fan
Hello Pats fans! Looks like it's deja vu all over again.
Rather than repeat what's been and will be ramrodded over and over again by the media, let's discuss some things that will really matter! Like holy bleep what a performance by Wilfork! And isn't it nice to have clutch kickers? And also the merits of nicknames (Elite Eli or Tom Terrific?).
Just kidding on the last one.
I have a single stat/tidbit for Superbowl Sunday: In all three of the Giants' Super Bowl wins, Bill Belichick has been involved somehow.
Who's ready for the Superbowl??

Weird Stat of the Day:
The Giants have been to the Superbowl 4 times.
The 3 times they played the opponent in the regular season, they won the Superbowl (vs Broncos (W), vs Bills, and vs Pats (Both losses).
The 1 time they faced an opponent in the superbowl they didn't play in the regular season, they lost.So go Pats?

Ask a Giants Fan: Part Dos: The Manning Menace
What a weekend!
In Week 10, if you told each fanbase that on Sunday, January 22, that the Giants would be playing at San Francisco for the right to go to the superbowl, each side would take it.
As you may remember, my name's Will and I'm the unofficial representative of BBV and Giants fan of the interwebz.
Sunday will feature a rematch of two teams very different from that Week 10.
A classic game from a classic rivalry is hopefully in the making, the 8th time our two beloved franchises will face off in the playoffs. The Giants beat the 49ers in the only NFC CC match between the two, 15-13 in 1990

BBV Pick 'em CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
Well according to Rex Ryan, the Giants and the 3 other teams here are the greatest teams evar because they made it to the Conference Championship. I wonder if Weatherford likes the NFC CC or the AFC CC better? But I digress.

BBV Pick 'em Divisional Round
Even in the playoffs, we can't get anyone with a perfect week!
Most people chose the Steelers over the Broncos, but the minority that didn't also chose the Bengals. Also Simms' suckiness has extended to the post season. I mean 3 road teams? What was he thinking?
3-1: Willgfass, Larry Soprano, telcochik2, Iboogie25, j-man, sv101, AmsterdamAdmirals, TNYFBG
2-2: Plaxico Burress, Netsareboss, Tommy d., Rorschach44, BrooksBridges11, jcaliafore, Maraman, wangstu13, 1giantlion
1-3: Simms-McConkey
This Week:
New Orleans @ San Francisco
Denver @ New England
Houston @ Baltimore
New York @ Green Bay
Best of luck everyone

Ask a Giants Fan II: The Coughlin Strike Back
So we meet again. *Cue proper soundtrack*
Next Sunday (I think), the New York Football Giants and the Green Bay Packers will battle in a match up that screams for 2007 parallels which I refuse to make.
One of your own kindly posted on BBV, and please feel welcome to come over throughout the week.
This game is the 6th time our two beloved teams will face off in the playoffs, but only the second time of the Super Bowl Era. If you like history, the Packers lead the postseason head to head record 4-2, with the two losses book ending the series: The 1938 NFL Championship, and the 2007 Playoffs.
May Sunday bring a great game and may the best team win

Ask a Giants fan - Playoffs Edition
Hello Falcons fans! My name is Will and I'm the unofficial representative of BBV and Giant fans of the interwebz.
I'm sure you were all doing some TV scouting, as Mike Smith called it. As Giant fans, we've been waiting all season for a game like that. Without a doubt, that was our most complete game of the season.
Of course, the Falcons are coming off an even more impressive blowout vs the Buccaneers. If anything, this game should hopefully be a good one. Here are some stats:

Caption Contest time?
Ask a Giants fan
Hello Jets fans, the game that we've all been waiting for, but pretending to minimize its importance to our friends of the opposing team is here.
After two terrible games, yadda yadda yadda... Look do we want another rehash of that terrible sunday? Suffice to say I paid money to be present at that game Sunday, so I sure don't want to.
Anyways, the battle for New Giants Stadium, er Metlife Stadium will happen whether we want it to or not. (Sorry bout that, wouldn't have gone for the low blow if one of your own didn't already, haha)
Any questions and I and the rest of the BBV crew will be happy to do our best to answer them.
To a more satisfying Saturday than last Sunday

NFL Players Poll: Most Intimidating Fans
Not a scientific poll or anything, but... color me shocked that we're even in the top half.
BBV Week 14 Pick 'em
Hey guys I noticed no one put anything up yet and it's almost Thursday, ergo almost Thursday night football. Unless we all wanted to forfeit, I figured someone should at least put up the choices until someone tallies up the numbers.
What am I doing that's so important I can't add them up myself? Finals man. So if someone could be so kind to add up the numbers I'll put them in here and give proper credit. Until then, here are the games for next week.

Quick Stat: QB Eli Manning is the 5th QB in NFL history with seven consecutive seasons with at least 3,000 yards and 20 touchdown passes.
From the Giants website.
Well at least something good happened
Ask a Giants fan
Hello Pack fans. My name's Will, and I'm the unofficial representative of BBV and Giant fans of the interwebz. Me and my fellow BBV compatriots will do our best to answer your questions.
So a quick summary of my feelings about the Giants and what they'll do on Sunday: Eli will put up points. He'll probably have a turnover or two but he'll put up points and if the game's competitive it will be because of him. Receivers will drop well thrown balls and we'll have a false start or holding or two that will stall an otherwise very good drive.
The defense will.. i dunno do something. Not sure how much worst they can play than yesterday. Only two drives by the Saints didn't end in points and the only thing stopping them from scoring more points was how long they took to drive down the field. Not sure how much worst they can play, but I sure don't hope Rodgers shows me otherwise.
So that's the life of a Giants fan. Some historical stats about the match up coming up

Normally I have something to say about the last game or some witty quip but I'm too dejected and mad from the last game. So enjoy some random stats I found that have no bearing on the game on Monday.

(No longer Temporary) BBV Pick 'Em Week 11
I noticed no one put up the Pick em yet, and it's almost thursday. I don't have the time to add everything up yet but I figured we may as well let people get their picks in now and add em up later.
(But wait Will, you have the time to write this fanpost? Retort: .... Shut up...)
So if someone is working on adding them up email em to me (it's my username (that is, willgfass) at yahoo.com), and I'll add them in. And if no one is working on them... I'll add them up friday afternoon. So here are the picks and choices:
Thanks to Jcaliofore for getting em done. Some bad choices by the guys up top and some good picks by the people in the middle is making the race more interesting. Meanwhile those at the bottom like me... continue staying at the bottom. Time for me to start picking solely who I want to win and not who I think will win...

The Giants vs the NFC West and other musings about the future
I'm not sure if I ever typed it into the internet, but one of the reasons I thought the Giants would most assuredly improve or stay equal to last year's record, even with a seemingly tougher schedule, was that we played the NFC West. Last year the Falcons got to 13-3 partly on the basis that they swept the NFC West. Same deal with the Buccs last year. Seeing that, it isn't as surprising to see the Buccaneers fall flat on their face this year, and the Falcons not looking as good as they did last year.Even the horrid panthers last year got their only two wins vs the NFC West.
The last time the NFC East played the NFC West, it was pretty much carnage. Not so this year. In fact, look at the Eli's stats vs NFC West teams and then non-NFC West teams:

One of the facts of the day: For the first time since divisions were realigned, all teams in the NFC West won in the same week.
https://twitter.com/#!/AdamSchefter/status/135901380262109184
Giants, Eagles, Ravens, and Browns are all part of this sad day in NFL history
Sunday was the only time since 2001 the Patriots allowed a fourth quarter comeback win at home (7 other times on road, 1 on neutral vs. NYG)
Ask a Giants fan!
Hello San Fran Fans. My name is Will, and I'm the unofficial representative of BBV and Giant fans of the interwebz. Any questions, please feel free to ask them so me and other dudes from BBV can try and answer them.
On Sunday, the Giants, in first place with a 2 game lead in the division, will play the 1st place 49ers, who lead their division by 5 games.
Just like everyone thought in August, right?
Sunday will feature a continuation of the old rivalry of the 80s between the two illustrious teams. It will feature the original Captain Comeback (Harbaugh) vs the Eli Manning, trying to take that title with 5 game winning drives in the last 6 weeks, the third player in NFL history to do so.
Below are some stats that will have absolutely no meaning for the game on Sunday:
