Can QB Taylor Martinez fix his throwing motion to become a better passer? We'll find out on Saturday. (Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)

It's that time of the year, Husker fans. Spring Football has arrived, and on Saturday, Memorial Stadium will be filled with the 'Sea of Red' once again in support of the annual 'glorified scrimmage.'

They also duke it out over whether Ameer Abdullah or Aaron Green will become the main back-up to 'Superman' Rex Burkhead. They also talk about what newcomers to watch out for, and the age-old question on what to expect out of Taylor Martinez and Brion Carnes. What will be the magic remedy for the defense? Can Mohammed Seisay make the loss of Alfonzo Dennard less painful? Jake and Will cover all this and more.

Corn Nation Husker CornCast: Tim Miles—Bad Hire?

Will this be a common sight for new coach Tim Miles this season? Can he bring this down program back to life? (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Say goodbye to Doc Sadler, and hello to Tim Miles. Who, you say? Hosts Jake Sorensen and Will Grubb talk about new Nebraska basketball coach Tim Miles, and what obstacles he has with the program. They talk about high-profile assistant coach and Chicago recruiter Ronald Coleman, who will be joining Miles' staff, and the influence he could have on getting players to Lincoln. What are quarterback Tommy Armstrong's greatest strengths? Can he unseat Taylor Martinez next season? How did the Huskers do on the offensive and defensive lines?

Is losing Andrus Peat to Stanford a big deal? Is this Bo's best recruiting class yet?

Is B1G basketball better than Big 12 basketball? All those questions answered and more. Both Brians have different opinions in areas, so tune in!

We're back! After a long winter break, and the start of a new semester, it is time for the CornCast to switch over to basketball.  We will dig in to recruiting for football in an upcoming episode, and spring game material when it comes closer to the date.  But for now, the basketball team is into Big 12 season...

Host Jake Sorensen and guest host Mike Sholes talk with Brian Rosenthal of the Lincoln Journal Star about the state of Nebraska basketball as it currently is.  They ask Rosenthal if he believes the team is an improvement over last year's squad, or if the early season wins are just an abberation, and fans are in for another disappointment.  They also discuss what coach Doc Sadler has to do to keep his job safe, and debate how Nebraska will fare with the remainder of the Big 12 schedule.  Finally, they predict how Nebraska will fare in the switch to the Big 10, and how they'd cope this season in the conference.

Remember, if you have any questions, or just want to rant (about football or basketball), don't forget to email us at huskercorncast@gmail.com, or call our fan line at (571) 306-CORN, and we'll play your questions over the air.

Crimson And Cream Machine Berry Tramel's Debate with Husker Fans

Berry Tramel recently did an interview with the Husker sbnation site cornnation.com

Here is the post I think Sooner fans might find it interesting.

"I just think a once-solid fan base has lost its collective mind"

"We blame you (Nebraska) for loosing your class"

"Now Nebraska seems inhabited by a bunch of kooks who frighten off Beebe, an ex-NCAA investigator, and fire off uncouth e-mails like they're from Louisiana or somewhere"

Quotes taken from Berry Tramel's article

Controversial writer Berry Tramel of The Oklahoman joins hosts Will Grubb and Jake Sorensen to talk about the Big 12's fractured relationship with the Huskers.  The hosts debate with Tramel about if the Huskers have been treated fairly or not in the past year, and what this game means to both sides, as well as the conference's future.  After a long disagreement, they finally shift their focus to the actual championship game on Saturday, and predict who will win the game and go to a BCS bowl.

As always, you can reach the CornCast's 24/7 phone line at 571-306-CORN, or email the guys at huskercorncast@gmail.com, to rant, ask a question, or just talk football.

Corn Nation Getting Ready For Blaine Gabbert

For the Huskers to beat the Missouri Tigers they must do one thing....slow down Blaine Gabbert. The talented Jr. QB is the key to Mizzou's offense as they have struggled to establish the run game so far this season. For the Husker defense to be successful against him they need to do 3 things.

Corn Nation Why Does Cody Green Continue to Play?

Many Husker fans have wondered including myself why Bo Pelini continues to send Cody Green out onto the field when he rarely plays well. If you take a step back however you will see there is good reason for this.

Early in the season many Husker fans thought that a 2 quarterback system was being used, that Taylor Martinez was QB1 and Cody Green QB1a. That is not true. Since game one Taylor has been the starter.

Then why has Cody Green been playing so much you might ask? The answer is actually simple... they need to develop a solid back up that is capable of stepping in if T-mart gets hurt.

T-mart is a running quarterback I don' think there is any debate about that. Running around so much leaves his body exposed for injury. Zach Lee won't be here next year (is anyone even sure he is here now?) and Brion Carnes looks like he will not be passing C. Green on the depth chart anytime soon so Cody Green is the back up for the next 2 1/2 years.

Cody came here riding a tidal wave of hype and has yet to live up to it. When he realized he was not going to win the #1 Qb job there were whispers he might be thinking about transferring, Perhaps Bo's sometimes puzzling move to put him in the game is a move to keep him happy and at Nebraska.

If Cody is patient and continues to work hard his time will come. I think Bo is very aware that one day he will need Cody to go make an important spot start and that is why he is showing him some love on Saturdays

Corn Nation Player Profile: Prince Amukamara

Over the past couple of seasons Husker Nation has come to know CB Prince Amukamara as the Husker's defensive lockdown corner. What many people do not know is that Prince was better known as a running back in his high school days at Apollo high school in Glendale, Arizona. In his senior year Prince was a triple threat player as a receiver, running back, and as a defensive back. He rushed for over 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior and also recorded over 95 tackles with 2 interceptions.

Freshman Year

When Prince arrived on campus he primarily saw the field as a special teams player. His freshman year he recorded 4 tackles with 2 of those tackles coming against Kansas State.

Sophomore Year

In Princes break out year he played in all 13 games and started against Western Michigan, New Mexico State, and Virginia Tech. He recorded 34 tackles with 21 being solo. He also added 3 pass break ups and 2 forced fumbles.

Junior Year

In his 3rd year at Nebraska Prince Amukamara solidified himself as one of the best defensive backs in college football. He recorded 5 interceptions which was second on the team to senior safety Matt O'Hanlon. He also had a team high 11 pass break ups.

Draft Status

Prince is listed by many as the top defensive back in the 2011 draft class. He has good size at 6'1 205 but his biggest knock may be his lack of recovery speed with an estimated 40 time of 4.49 seconds. Even with his lack of blazing speed most believe he will be a solid first round draft pick. He has even appeared as 3rd on Scouts Inc. player rankings.
