Still Spurs When I Wake Up
Well, that was an interesting day of football. Congrats to West Ham on winning promotion and because I routinely coach youth football and have to set a good example, congratulations Chelsea on winning the Champions League.
Now that that's out of the way, pretty rotten feeling on the go right now. It really didn't have to come to this, did it? We could have had it all. But we didn't and life goes on, though it sometimes feels pretty crappy.

40 years ago today, Tottenham drew with Wolves at home to win 3-2 on aggregate and win the 1972 UEFA Cup. If I was more of a writer I'd try and write something about this. Instead, I'll just leave this here.
"It's magnificent to be in Europe, and this club–a club like Tottenham Hotspur–if we're not in Europe...we're nothing. We're nothing." Sir Bill Nicholson.
Let's go Bayern, do us a favour. Help us be something.
Louis Saha's Difficult Journey
Mixed opinions about Saha and what he can bring to the team seem to exist, but this is an interesting piece that talks about his career up to this point. Certainly some stuff in there that I was unaware of.
Brian Phillips (Run of Play) on if Peter Crouch is criminally underrated.
Brian Phillips has a new piece on Grantland about Crouch. Definitely worth a read, makes some interesting points that could probably spark some debate here.
EDIT: I put the wrong link the first time.
Fabrice Muamba: A Reporter's View From 20 Yards Away
I probably should have made this a Fanshot earlier, but I didn't. Oh well. As part of this whole social media gig I get to see what gets mentioned to the CFC Twitter feed and this article was sent this morning by @KOSleisure, which seems to be an aggregator of information based in Kent or a media consortium. In any case they mentioned the site and a link to this article by Joe Bill of Kent News.
The Internet has been inundated recently with people's perspectives on what happened on Saturday but this one is well worth the read. Coupled with Kevin's post from earlier from the Guardian it illustrates just how incredible everything that happened Saturday was. An excerpt after the jump.
"When I saw him lying on the pitch at White Hart Lane, I was scared."
Benoit Assou-Ekoto wrote about Saturday's events.
"I wish Fabrice a very quick and full recovery, not because he is a good guy, a young man, a fellow professional or a brother but because he is a human and it will be wonderful for him to see for himself the good that has come from this very sad and frightening event in his life."
I don't dive, I'm just trying to save my career
Bale speaks on the diving allegations. This response is just brilliant. The trolls will love this.
Parker gets to do a coin toss and the Internets are exploding!
Scotty P named captain of England for today. Good luck with the coin flip Scott and keep track of the team shirts.
Twitter is incredible right now when it comes to reaction.
Parker voted England player of the year.
Congratulations to Parker on making the most of his chance with the national team. Now use this award to get you fired up for the rest of the season and get back to the true Scott Parker Experience.

The Prosecution's case at times seemed flimsy
Good little article from a BBC reporter who was providing the best Twitter coverage of the trial over the last little while.
Niko a fan of Harry Potter and Harper Lee
This is worth a look. Some funny choices in here, the best by Theo Walcott:
Favorite Children's Book: "TJ and the Hat-Trick" by Theo Walcott.
Favorite Adult Book: "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by JK Rowling.
Draw from that what you will.
Harry's on the bench Friday
Harry will be pick the squad and be in the dugout come Friday. I figured he would be so this isn't that surprising, just good to know he will be there.
Oh 'Arry. You brilliant man
"It is not rocket science, this game. Good players give you a chance. If you have not got good players you don't have a chance, I don't care who you are. I might be knocking my own job or whatever but if I have not got Gareth Bale, I am not half as clever."
'Arry and Roberto getting into it in this article. Some great quotes from both in there.

The glorious return of Robbie Keane
I don't Villa will swing that two month loan. Keano back to train though, that's fun.
Great Scott Parker Article
Really great article and interview with Parker. A lot of truth in what he says about players. Further cementing man crush.
What a difference a season makes
What a difference a season makes.
There are a lot of ways that phrase is used, however the way I am about to use it feels a little bit different then how others would use it. Normally it would be used to acknowledge something great that happened. I'm going to use it to share my story, which you can interpret as great, idiotic, or just plain BS. That is your call, I am just writing what I feel.
