Arizona produced an amazing comeback yesterday. They should be on a nice emotional high for today's game. Yay.

Baek takes on Haren tonight in Arizona. Not a good matchup for us, as Haren is quite good and Baek is quite not. Needless to say, this is probably going to be the series that determines how the Padres will play out the rest of the season. But no pressure. Game time is a ridiculous 6:40pm PDT.

So let's see. Swept by Seattle and lose 2 out of 3 to the Rockies. I think we can stake our claim to Suckiest Team in Baseball.

What is it with this team and broken noses?

I'm linking this for two reasons: the headline juxtaposed with the photo makes it seem as if Barrett is getting a face transplant or something; and at the bottom, the little factoid on Tomko is the kind of funny thing we're getting used to. He sucks AND he's hurt?

The SI cover story on Tim Lincecum and his mechanics is outstanding.

Off day today before the "big showdown" in Arizona. Remember - according to Adrian, we now have to win 7 of the next 9 or we're done. (Giggle.)

Good old fashioned sweep. The worst team in baseball came to town and the Padres absolutely laid down. Embarrassing. I guess they let Harry get on the plane to Colorado, but I'm not sure why.

Headley is getting better at LF. Good to hear since all those rumors have us trading Kouz and moving him back to 3B. Good planning.

There is nothing sadder than a stadium waiting to be demolished.

The suckfest continues as the Padres take on the Rockies tonight. Maddux goes against Jorge De La Rosa. We are only a half a game worse than these guys. We need to give it our worst. If your life has lost all meaning and you have nothing else to do, game time is 6:05pm PDT.

For awhile, it looked like we might beat the Twins yesterday. But in the end, things ended the way they always seem to for us.

Geoff Young has a nice piece comparing AG to Justin Morneau up at Hardball Times. HT also continues their breakdown of the first round of the draft and provides an in-depth analysis of Dykstra's swing. They don't mention the "secret injury" though.

Suckfest 2008 begins tonight as The Wolf takes on Jarrod Washburn. Lookout Landing is already trying to get in our heads by applauding our best player and plotting to get swept. Did I not warn you about this yesterday, that the Mariners would attempt to outsuck us??? We must not stand for it!!! P-Mac at short, Adrian in center and let Trevor start all three games. I was gone from the Internets for five days, but it seems things are still the same. Can we PLEASE get serious about 100 losses now?

Canepa wakes up from his nap to give us his take on booing Trevor. He also uses a cliched headline from perhaps fifty years ago.

Gooch is ahead of schedule, but still not close to returning.

Do not disturb Shawn Chacon when he's eating. (Sent via Drama who seems sad that he had to give up this gig. You'd think he'd be busy with everything else he has going on.)

Sorry for the delay. Massive storms rolled thru Dallas this morning and wiped out the power for bit.

Is there anything less enjoyable than losing to the Yankees? I'm not even one of those guys that despises the Yankees just because they are the Yankees, but there's something about losing to them that just sucks.
