World Series or Bust

Mar 14, 2008 Jun 02, 2012 2 97

I've been a Giant's fan since birth. I seen the good times (Will Clark/1989; 2002 (at least up to the last five outs of the 6th game), and the bad times, (Desi Wilson playing first, Johnnie LeMaster, Candy Maldanado playing soccer with the baseball in St. Louis.

I am a season ticket holder, but my new favorite team is whatever one I'm coaching for my son. I've been coaching him for 4 years now, and I gotta tell you, if you get the chance to coach your kids, don't pass it up. What a ride...

Manning a Niner?!?!?

Chris Mortensen just announced, and East Sports Punk Network picked it up that Manning has already tried out for the Niners. His tryout went well enough that the Niners brought in their doctors to evalute Manning. Manning has promised that if his neck is bad, the football team that gets him wouldn't have to pay him, and that would be in the contract. Probably insurance related. To top it off, A. Smith is still a free agent. Ahh, Montana to Freddie, Young to Rice, Manning to Davis.... symetry

McCovey Chronicles JJ Hardy Anyone?

Below is a note from my free fantasy baseball league about JJ Hardy.  I've seen him play, and he is a solid defensive shortstop with a proven bat.  His current numbers are:

Avg:   .275

OBP:  .336

SLG:  .462

OPS:  .797

Tue, Aug 12 FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports the Milwaukee Brewers could trade SS J.J. Hardy in the offseason if they feel Double-A SS Alcides Escobar is ready.

Instead of going after a Furcal and spending a gazillion dollars on a SS that has shown a unique quality to get hurt season after season, why not try to trade for JJ Hardy?  Ochoa looks like he can play, but a proven shortstop is not a strength area for the Giants.

Thoughts, gripes, rants, raves, rotten tomatoes....
