A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It was dark, in more ways than one and there was little hope to be found. But a merry band of rebels fought to bring down an evil empire. There was a whole lot of things they ran into along the way, being trapped in a trash compactor, possibly being too short to be a stormtrooper, a stop at Space Pimp (tm) Lando Calrissian's city, a rancor pit and arguing over who shot first. Also, it required crawling in a taun taun to survive. And you thought they smelled bad on the outside.
It may be the bleakest of times, but have the heart to persevere. Keep calm and swing your saber.

One day last fall, Ron Wilson is walking through the underground labyrinth of tunnels that connect all of the major points in the city’s downtown when his cellphone rings. On the line is Scott Gordon, his assistant coach with the U.S. Olympic hockey team, and they begin talking about issues surrounding the coming Vancouver Whistler Games.
A shortish fellow in standard business attire walks by, sees a familiar face, and does a bit of a double-take. Then he walks up to Wilson, who is still talking, and hollers the following directly into his ear.
"You’re the worst [expletive] coach I’ve ever seen. You’re a [expletive] idiot."
Then the man in the suit walks away, leaving Wilson standing there, with Gordon laughing on the other end of the line.
It doesn’t end there. Anyone who knows the way Wilson relishes the cut and thrust, understands that he likes to get the last word, can imagine what comes next.
He sprints through the tunnel – his antagonist has a 50-metre lead, but he quickly catches up – and stops him dead in his tracks.
"You said something back there. Now say it to my face."
His critic is momentarily taken aback, but eventually summons his courage and repeats his critique, complete with f-bombs.

You know, sometimes people forget that haters are always going to hate. Apparently the Leafs can never do anything right and you know what? Shut up. We don't care. We don't need you. HATE HATE HATE. Get over it. Obviously if we have this many hating, we're doing something right. Brian Burke strips the team and brings in new talent? Hate. The goaltending situation has improved since Vesa Toskala? Hate. Different stripe on the jerseys? Hate. I tend to take advice from Andy Warhol and think he was right to say, "don't read what they write about you, just measure it in inches."

Well this certainly has the build up for drama and theatrics. Given the last run in of the Leafs and Ranger, I expect fists. Sean Avery isn't going to be very welcome in the ACC after his hacking action on our honorable and handsome Mike Komisarek. So who will be the one to bring down the hammer? My money is on the Sheriff.

Let's keep this party going. The Leafs are on a roll, DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Remember what I said last time, be cool. We've been on a bit of a break since the last game but I think we are all itching to get down to it.
So put on your colors and get comfy, there's hockey to be had.

The Maple Leafs and the Penguins square off tonight. The Pens have themselves a shiny new rink to show off. But I think the Leafs should break it in. We start fresh. Sure we had the preseason games to shake the cobwebs and get the balance right. Take a look at all the new names on the roster. The team has gone through a massive amount of change and only a few players remain from the past two seasons. What will the fresh blood mean for the overall performance of the team this year?
