Texas (UT) baseball outlasts BC after 25 innings
And you thought that '05 Game 4 against the Braves was nuts.
--------------------
Texas reliever Austin Wood pitched 13 innings, including 12 1-3 innings of no-hit ball before allowing a two-out single to Tony Sanchez in the 19th inning.
“In my 41 years of coaching, the effort by Austin Wood was the best pitching performance I have ever seen,” said Texas coach Augie Garrido, the Division I leader in career victories.

Bazardo - Express vs Sky Sox
Express pitcher Yorman Bazardo stole the show tonight. 7 innings pitched, 1 run. He had the lone Express RBI until the bottom of the 7th, when they broke a 1-1 tie to give him the win. He also made leaping grabs of bouncing grounders to start two double plays, and made a nifty catch and tag to nail a runner heading to first. Seems that some room in the rotation could and should be cleared up for this guy... (Note: these are impressions from one game.)
Honorable mention to Yordany Ramirez. On a short fly ball that he had no business catching, he was running hard towards the infield, dove all-out, slamming against the ground, and got his glove under the ball. Unfortunately it popped up a bit, and he was almost able to grab it, but couldn't. Got a heartfelt standing-O, despite the run scoring on the play, for his unbelievable effort.
Later in the 9th he slammed hard into the side wall tracking down a foul ball.
Watching the way these two guys play the game really makes you feel good about the future of the organization!
Also I got Tommy Manzella's autograph on one of my old Tulane scorecards. Didn't catch up with Bogey, maybe next time.
