Which Trade?

There has been speculation from a plethora of sources about various trades pretty much since pre-draft last year. Speculation of trading for Chad Johnson and Anquan Boldin were big last year. And the the Chad Johnson trade talks died down but there was and is an what seems as a everlasting rumor that Anquan Boldin will be traded and it quite possibly could be the Eagles. And now the Chad Johnson rumors are heating up again and now theres rumors of Braylon Edwards. But then theres a wild card of Jason Peters the LT from Buffalo that has been thrown into the rink. So with the draft drawing ever so closer i just want to speculate on the different trade possibilities and see what ever one else thinks on the issue. If we were to trade picks and possible players who would you want to be traded for?

Chad Johnson- Chad Johnson is probably the oldest trade rumor. Now we all know Chad Johnson is a flamboyant player and an excellent flamboyant player at that. He's 31 years old which should definitly be a factor in trading for him. But to be honest he reminds me and probably Andy Reid to much of TO. Having discontent with his old team and requesting to be traded. He had a big mouth, so i feel to Andy atleast its to much of a risk v. reward to trade.

Cost- On the NFL Network it was speculated that it would take two first rounders to get Chad but i dont think thats accurate. With his age an all i know for a fact hes ot gonna get two first from any team pending the marijuana intake of the other teams GM. If Eagles were to make a run id see maybe a first and 3rd/or Reggie Brown and maybe getting a late round pick (probably 5-6-7) in return w/ 85

Anquan Boldin-Anquan is arguably one of the top 5 recievers in the game right now. He is a bigger reciever Mac has been craving more than Momma McNabbs Campbells Chunky Soup. But again theres the mouth on him. He wants big money and im sure that we will give him it if he do aquire him but you gotta look at his progatives. Last year after the Cards beat us in the NFCCG Boldin stormed off the field and didnt celebrate the victory and the fact he's goin to the Super Bowl w/ his team. I just dont see this guy as a team player and i do see him as a guy that money first guy.

Cost- I think his cost is similiar to Chads. a First and 3rd. with smaller picks pending to flip flop.

Braylon Edwards- This kid is probably the most wild wild card in the bunch. Recently put on the block. He definitly is a talented reciever but he has drops and inconsistent QB play and he's young so he is relatively an unknown comadity. But the one thing i really look at which kinda affects the possibility of actually trading for him is the whole situation in Cleveland. They gotta new head coach and a young QB in Brady Quinn. With Stallworth probably not coming back to Cleveland they are thin at reciever. They are pretty much handing Brady Quinn the keys to there franchise. I dont see them dealing away arguably there only offensive weapon that this young QB has.

Cost-Again the cost may be real similiar to the others but with them being a rebuilding franchise i see it being a little higher. 1st and 2nd rounder plus later round pick.

Jason Peters-Peters is relatively new to the trading block. He have a arguable hole at LT and he is a arguable great Tackle. He has made the ProBowl and played real well up in TOville. But he has been inconsistent, given up sacks(lots of sacks), and is possibly a locker room disruption. He has heldout before and is a child of the money. He wants his money and he will disrupt if he doesnt get it. But the formost reason i dont see us going for him is i feel our line is just fine the way it is now. Move Herramens out to LT, MJG to LG, and Cole and JJackson fight it out for Center and you got the AndrewCO on the right side. All in all our line looks like this:

Herramens-MJG-Cole-Andrew1-Andrew2

Cost- Jason Peters would be th highest priced guy i feel. It would take two firsts to get him. I dont see us giving this years two firsts BUT if it were to go down i think id be One first this year and next years first.

So pick your poison evaluate the costs and situations and who do you feel is most worth the price and backlash

Joe Mays

I have heard a couple ppl saying how they might want to draft a linebacker in the draft and i was just kinda wondering what is happening with Joe Mays. Mays was a standout last preseason being all over the field and as a second year rookie i kinda wanna see him get some reps in mini and training camp before we go out drafting a linebacker. I get that preseason is preseason but i see potential in him.

Anquan or Housh

Which one would you rather have???

If we went for Housh we would probably have give him a large contract to get him to come to Philly.

For Boldin we would have to prolly trade picks with Arizona, undoubtedly a one of our Firsts and prolly also a third, but we may throw Lito in and keep the first?

I personally would liek TJ Housh i think he would be a gem in the rough after being shadowed by Chad Ocho Cinco for years.

Boldin i think would want us to renogotiate his contract if he did get here and from his statements i feel like he wants a top 3 WR contract out of the FO.

Big Back Option

alot of ppl have said that we need a big back to compliment BWestbrook in the back field and take some pressure off him and i could not agree more and i have heard some discussion of maaaaaaaybe but not likely Brandon Jacobs if he dowsnt get resigned by the Giants but another option i saw in the FA list on the main page was Dominic Rhodes, i think he might be a good option for that big back, he could push a pile on 3-inches and goalline situations and he was part of the 2006 Colts Super Bowl team so he has been to the dance before i think he might be a good option for us as a cheap option

Thanksgiving Cards Game: Does it matter?

I have been pretty much watching tidbits of every show on ESPNs garden of networks (ESPN, ESPN2, Classic) and tons of shows weighin in on the Eagles-Cards game, (SC, FirstTake, Mike-Mike, ESPNews) and all of them had at one point a reference to the Thanksgiving game, And the majority of them said, "You cant take that game into account when weighing in on the NFC championship game" and i kept saying "Why the hell not" there are many reasons i feel that game can be used when analyzing this weekends game.

First of all all of the ESPN guys say "oh the teams are very different now" and i say "Really?, are they?" On the Eagles side: our front seven is the same, our D Backfield, McNabb is still quarterback, Westbrook is still limping into the game, on our side its pretty much the same team. How about the Cardinals, Warners still QB, they still have both Boldin and Fitzgerald, there D is the same, so how r the teams different???

Secondly they say "the Cards are playing a much better Run D and Running much better." So, first the Cards D, were they playing "Bad" when we played them in Thankgiving?, they were actually plaing pretty good, at that time they were like 7-4 and being talked about as possible "the best team in the NFC", then there running game, i wont take away that they are running better, but we have the BEST D in the NFC, they dont have the best running game in the NFC, look who we played, the Vikings with AP and Chester Taylor and the Giants w/ Earth Wind Fire, those are two of the best running games in the NFL and we stopped em, so why should anyone expect the Cardnals game to be any different?

Finally look at the score....48-20.......that wasa friggin BLOWOUT.....i could see ppl saying it doesnt matter if it was 28-20 or 24-20 but not friggin 48-20

So why r ppl still saying this game cant be taken into account when analyzing this game???

Rueban Amaros Signings

I've noticed a tendency over the last couple days in the signings that Rueban Amaro has done (and offered), i commented it on the Nomar to Phillies post and i felt liek fanposting it. Now it started with the signing of Raul Ibanez over Pat Burrell, then Chan Ho Park, Marcus Giles and the offer to Nomar.

It seems to me that Amaro is making a habit of signing so called "has-beens" to he roster. Do u think that Amaro REALLLY thinks these guys can still play at a good level or he's just signing names that he recognizes???

Eagle MVPs

With Peyton Manning winning the MVP my local newspaper the, New London Day published a list of ALLLL the players to ever win a AP NFL MVP award and i started looking for......Eagle MVPs...plan and simple there arent any.....over the 47 years the Associated Press has voted for a NFL MVP the Philadelphia Eagles have NEVER.....EVER....had a MVP win it on there roster.....now i understand we had some pretty bad teams between the times of 1961 and 2008 but gosh it comes as a big suprise too me that we have never had a NFL MVP on our team win it......Ron Jaworski never won it, Harold Carmicheal never won it, Jerome Brown never won it, Reggie White never won it, Sonny Jurgenson never won it, Wilbert Montgomery never won it, and modernly, Brian Dawkins never won it, McNabb never won it, Duce Staley never won it, ALL these great players many of them Hall of Fame players NEVER won the MVP on the Eagles, and i find it astounding....granted the MVP was started in 1961 so there are so many players on the Eagles who would of won it before '61, Chuck Bednarick, Steve Van Buren, Norm Van Brocklin, Pete Retzlaff, Tom McDonald, and many others i an just astonished to find the Eagles never won a MVP.....

Chris Berman predictions

I was watchin Sportscenter on ESPN his morning and they had Chris Bermans "2 Minute Drill" where we predicts winners to all the games and he did his playoff prediction...after a almost cliche showing of JimMoras "Playoffs?" quote he predicted the winners this weekend and then made his Super Bowl picks.......for the AFC he picked the Colts and for the NFC he picked......The Eagles....Now Chris Berman i like....On ESPN there are the lovers (Jaws, Chris Berman) who WILL give the Eagles respect and credit when credit is due. Jaws always gives Eagles respect  and even last year was talkin about a Eagles upset vs. the Patriots, remember we were like 24 point underdogs.......no questions why there....and Chris Berman always have the Eagles respect for there talent....last yearwhen we were on our 3-0 run to end the season he said  "im sure a lot of teams are glad the Eagles didnt make the playoffs b/c there a team to look out for" not his words but the jist of wat i can remember. Then there are the haters to the Eagles (particularly Merril Hoge) Merril Hoge and this really came evident this year HATED to see the Eagles win with there heavy pass offense on NFL Matchup Hoge and Jaws would literally get into yellin fights over the Eagles ability to win with there such heavy passing.

But i just thought thatit was really cool to see Berman like the Eagles chances so much as to predict them to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl....

What happened 2 Marty callin the Plays???

Now look at the numbers 48/12 pass/run ratio, thats not Marty Morningway calling the plays, wat the hell happened too Marty calling that balanced offense, what the hell was Andy Reid thinking when he takes the playcalling away from Marty and after 3 GREAT games of balanced attack and running up and down the field on opponents. I hope he gets the message after this week, we HAD a balanced attac kfor our prolly 3 best week of the season so i hope Andy, the front office, and the Andy lovers finally get we cant win anymore with this guy, is Andy Reid just ignorant or stupid, b/c he just doesnt get it...so i hope in this offseason whether we miraculously make the playoffs or not, i wat the FO to tell Andy or his successor to have Marty call the plays b/c guess what Andy cant just for thought by the way

from 2003-05 when he called they plays WE WERE A VERY SUCCESSFUL OFFENSE, in 2006 when Andy started calling plays he went 5-6 then he handed the playcalling to Marty after McNabb went down...WE WERE A SUCCESSFUL OFFENSE, finally this year he drove our team to the ground in Washington twice, against the bears, abd against the bengays, theres prolly more games but i recessed those memories, then...u guessed it he handed the playcalling to Marty and he friggin beat the Giants, the Browns and the Cardinals...then what does he do...he takes it away and pulls and Andy (in my life at home when ever when ever i or someone fuck up i say "U pulled an Andy".....im starting a fad) and we are terrible after having the playoff scenario in our own hands....

SO WHY DID ANDY TAKE THE PLAYCALLING AWAY FROM MARTY......WHY!!!....I REALLY WANNA KNO...
