Sources: Saints OK move if needed
The New Orleans Saints voted 59-0 to authorize the National Football League Players Association to decertify as a union if collective bargaining talks should eventually reach an impasse, according to union and player sources.
Davis: Another torn ACL
The Carolina Panthers got this season's first taste of worst-case scenario Wednesday, when tests confirmed the original diagnosis of another torn knee ligament for LB Thomas Davis.
DEs Smith, Grant in Saints' plans, coach Payton says
Saints coach Sean Payton says he'll plan on playing Will Smith and Charles Grant this Sunday against Detroit -- unless the NFL tells the club the defensive ends' suspensions are enforceable.
Jared Mitchell has to be on top of the World
Who do you know that was the MVP of the state in 2 sports in high school, Won a BCS National Championship, Won a College World Series, Won Most Outstanding Player in 1 of them (In Jared's case, latter), Get's drafted in the FIRST ROUND of the MLB Draft? And to top all of that off...He's a hell of Human Being. He's a very nice guy, his grades have never slipped since he's been in school (any school). While taking a step back and just observing this unique person, it makes me wonder..."What's Next?"
Do we have any chance at all?
My question is do we we have any chance at all at signing 1 of the big free agents in 2010. From a "Having Fun While Winning" standpoint, there's no other player in the league that i would rather play alongside than Chris Paul. So I definitely think he's a huge attraction, but my question is geared more towards the financial aspects of the idea? I really would like some feed back on this, and the only reason why I am even saying this is because it's telling me that I need to have 75 words.
Expect the best from New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston this season
"You're going to face adversity in any season, and last year was just my turn," Colston said. "There's really not much to learn from it. Just try to work as hard as you can to come back and prevent it from happening again."
Center LeCharles Bentley, whose career has been derailed by injuries, could potentially play this season.
Center LeCharles Bentley, whose career has been derailed by injuries, could potentially play this season. It wouldn't be a total shock if Kansas City looked at Bentley if he decided to play at some point this summer.
Hmm?? Anyone else have their eyebrows raised?
The Debate: New Orleans’ Defense
This afternoon, I take on our own Michael Lombardi as I explain why the New Orleans Saints are soon to be the class of the NFC South — thanks to their defense under new coordinator Gregg Williams. Can he turn New Orleans into a defensive town? I think he can.

Done deal: QB Stafford will be Lions' No. 1 pick on six-year agreement
NFL.com Wire Reports
Matthew Stafford will be the Detroit Lions' No. 1 overall draft pick after agreeing Friday night to a six-year deal that NFL.com's Steve Wyche reports will pay the quarterback $41.7 million in guarantees and could be worth as much as $78 million.
Do we have us a hell of a QB or what?

Forget Another RB
At the beginning of the off-season, I was all for getting rid of Deuce McAllister because clearly he wasn't the same Deuce and then I watched this. Ever since the rumors of the Saints being interested in a RB in the 1st round began to surface, I started thinking: A shiny, new RB would be just that, shiny, new, and full of expectations.

Fleur-de-Lis Fever | Ten Years Later, How Ricky Williams Affected New Orleans
There has been a trade... New Orleans is now on the clock.
These words put die-hard Who Dats and casual Saints fans alike on the edge of their seats. The Saints' brass had rarely made major draft day moves in previous seasons, but now they were putting all of their chips forward.
Pat Kirwan's Mock draft 5.0:
Guess who: *Synopsis* Here's the replacement for Deuce McAllister. The Saints have needs on defense and should move down to collect some extra picks.
State of the Saints
NFL Total Access looks at the Saints and how they can better use Reggie Bush.
SAINTS RECEIVER’S YOUNGER BROTHER MAKING NFL BID
Toledo wide receiver Nick Moore, the younger brother of New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore, worked out for NFL scouts at Ohio State’s campus Pro Day, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
McKenzie, 32, released by Saints
The New Orleans Saints released 32-year-old cornerback Mike McKenzie Thursday, clearing $4.575 million of salary cap room.
Sharper likely headed to Saints
Safety Darren Sharper spent the last four years with the Vikings, but it appears as if he’ll be with New Orleans in 2009, as the Saints have made a contract offer to him.
Titans look for bargains in ‘second wave’
A report had the Titans potentially having interest in New Orleans Saints restricted free agent Lance Moore, but that isn’t likely to materialize given that the Saints tendered Moore at the second-round level. Such a price (the 62nd pick in the draft) would be far more than the Titans are willing to pay at that position, especially given the depth of this year’s draft at the wideout position.
The New Orleans Saints opened negotiations with linebacker Jonathan Vilma Friday morning, but the TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS also checked in expressing interest.
