Hello from thephinsider.com, the Miami Dolphins blog-site. We just claimed R.J. Stanford off waivers, and I was wondering what you guys think of him. After trading Vontae Davis to the Colts, we need someone to play nickle cornerback, and I dont think Carrol has what it takes. Is R.J. Stanford good enough to succeed at nickle?
Give Naanee a break. He has had one bad game, and everyone is writing him off, even off the 53 when he supposedly had a spot locked up. He's a WR with potential, that I believe can grow along side Ryan Tannehill. Anthony Fasono had an even worse game against Atlanta and no one is writing him off the 53. Naanee has still had a great training camp, and I believe could be a consistent target along with Bess, and hopefully a young WR that has yet to step up and/or Hartline.
I am so tired of the media ripping on our team, because they seem so dang ignorant. Minutes ago I hear Charly Casserly say that the Dolphins arent as talented as the Jets were when they drafted M...
Coples scares the crap out of me. Not only is he a high risk potential high reward (even moreso than Tannehill), but in 2010 when he had success he was primarily a DT, then in 2011 he switches over to DE and utterly fails against ACC competition. I would rather pick Andre Branch with the #8 overall pick than Coples, at least he had success at DE against the same competition. (no I'm not serious about Branch at 8, im not stupid) If I were to grade the prospects by ceiling and floor at the DE position this is how it looks. Ingram: Medium floor, high ceiling Coples: Low floor, high ceiling Jones: Low floor, high ceiling Mercilus: Low floor, extremely high ceiling Perry: Medium-high floor, high ceiling Branch: High floor, high ceiling Curry:Low- Medium floor, highish ceiling everyone has their opinion, but dont come crying to me when Coples busts hard, and some of these other guys succeed. Also keep in mind that we could possibly get Branch or Curry in round 2, which makes the floor even higher. All of the guys I listed have "first round grades".
my thoughtsOn my other post someone said something that intruiged me.... He said "Maybe if we trade with the Eagles Ryan Tannehill will still be there". This is pretty unlikely, but if it were to happen, then...
The 2 scenario's are the "Tannehill" scenario, and the "trade down" scenario. If the fins stay at the #8 overall pick, and do not select Ryan Tannehill, then I will be sourly disappointed in Jeff...
There are a number of different things going on in the dolphins world, alot including the draft thats happening in 11 days. The things that this post will include are: Matt Moore being the...
hey yall, I want to talk about Ryan Tannehill. Last Year the Aggies had about 50 dropped passes, if you made those drops receptions at a 7 yard average, these would be his overall stats compared to Luck and Griffin. Name Cmp Att Yds Cmp% Ryan Tannehill 377 531 4094 71% Andrew Luck 288 404 3517 71% Robert Griffin III 291 402 4293 73% Now purely on #s which QB is best? Even if Ryan Tannehills #s are 3rd best in some peoples opinions, then is Tannehill that much of a reach at 8?
Hey guys, I just had a thought. What if we were to trade our 8th for the Pats 28th and 31st overall pick. Then we can get Stephen Hill or Kendall Wright at 28 and Perry, Mercilus, or Chandler Jones at 31, and if all those guys are gone then we can just get Coby Fleener at 31, and get Vinny Curry or Andre Branch at 41. After that we can just add O-line depth, maybe get another WR, and maybe get a CB somewhere in there
This post is a little different than the others. Its less of a mock and more of a big-board round by round, along with my opinions on the picks. Round 1: Staying at 8: 1. Ryan Tannehill- I...
I am extremely confused. I just looked at the Dolphins depth chart and we have 3 starting LBs (Burnett, Dansby, and Misi), 3 starting caliber DEs (Wake, Merling and Odrick), and 3 starting caliber DTs (Solai, Starks and McDaniel) . So why is everyone saying that one of our biggest needs is an OLB/DE when we already have everything we need for a 4-3 3-4 hybrid. As it stands we are extremely weak at the WR and TE positions which are both huge needs for the WCO. Our defense is already one of the best in the league and our Offense needs alot of work, so someone please explain to me why a DE/OLB is supposed to be picked before a WR and/or TE!
Rebuilding doesn't mean were going to suck next year, but I need to remind you guys, with my little kid optimism, that even without the draft, we have everything we need to win at least 10 games. Q...
This mock supports the "Barkley" theory. Here we go again for a 5th time. Round 1: Trade this years first for a first and second next year. Round 2: Trade: we trade our 2nd this year, and our 2nd...
I apologize for cloging up the fanposts with my mocks, but I just really want to get this right ya know? Anyway lets begin. Round 1: Ryan Tannehill- Extremely athletic, great pocket presence,...
This one is my favorite mock draft of them all. Provided with new information that we will not draft any DB's, and my new stance on our QB situation, on top of those things I realized it was just...
All of the dolphins fans out there think we are in a lose-lose situation this year, but we are actually in a win-win situation. We have two possibilities at QB: Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill, an...
I think the dolphins are a much better team than everyone gives us credit for, we already have an elite D and we have playmakers such as Reggie Bush and Devon Bess. Sure, we didn't have a great...
I am 14 years old, and I have been a fins fan since I was 4, and everyone around this website is just giving up. Despite what people think, a QB is NOT everything in this game, lets just look at a...
In my original post yesterday, I claimed that I did not want Peyton Manning as a dolphin, but as I thought about it, if he's healthy I wouldnt mind him as long as he learns our offense and not the...
Ryan Tannehill is doing a drill and trips
Free Agency- We have QB options in FA, but I dont like the idea of getting Peyton Manning or Matt Flynn. We should avoid these two, and use our FA cap-space to address DE, and RG, most likely Jared...
First I want to talk about the last 7 games of last season. We had an average at best QB, serious RT, and RG problems, no pass rush, but we still managed to win 5 of the 7 games, and its because...
Scenario 3: RG3 (I dont like this one...) Free Agency: Robert Mathis/Mario Williams/Cliff Avril (etc.), Demirtius Bell/ Jared Gather, and Brent Grimes Round 1: Robert Griffen III- We trade this...
