Lindsay rolls with the Tide
Chad Lindsay the 6-3, 300-pound OG from The Woodlands Texas commited to the Tide today.
He chose the Tide over offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and others.
This is a massive get. Saban has reffered tot his kid as a 'priority' of this recruiting class.
Welcome aboard Chad!! We're looking forward to having you on the team!!

Sly Croom resigns
Message just scrolled across on ESPN. No news as to whether he was forced out or resigned of his own accord. Sorry to see him go, he is a true class act. With luck he can get on as a DC somewhere as he always seemed to field good defenses.

Saban and Richt toying with each other?
Reading up on the Georgia/Bama matchup this weekend and I read the following article.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-blackingoutthetide&prov=ap&type=lgns
Which contained the following quote:
"So, why was he wearing red for his Tuesday news conference?
“This was the only shirt I had in my closet today when I got up,” Richt said with a smile, making it clear he’ll have on black come Saturday."
Sounds a little familiar, yes? Of course it does, Saban said the same thing a day before
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-t25-bama-forreal&prov=ap&type=lgns
"So was his decision to wear a black polo shirt to his Monday news conference a statement?
“It’s the only shirt I could find when I got up this morning,” Saban said with a grin."
Nice, the coaches are getting into this one. I hope the game lives up tothe hype it's receiving.

Head Coach Nick Saban Hires Jim McElwain as Offensive Coordinator.
Source is rolltide.com. doesn't get much more concrete than that.
Look forward to the offense next year. This sounds like a great hire. Hopefully he can do something help out JPW and his decision making.

Antoine Caldwell is returning!!!
[editor's note, by Todd] Bumped from the diaries.
From Collegefootballtalk.com Antoine Caldwell has decided to return for his senior season.
Apparently a lot of people thought that Caldwell was going to go pro especially after the textbook scandal.
Good to see him return for another season in the Crimson and White.
Full story is at http://www.collegefootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
[editor's note, by Todd] There is also an article up at TideSports.com.

Does he bite it or not
Arkansas has announced that they will host a press conference at 7:30PM Eastern Time (the only time zone that counts). Houstoun Nutt is expected to be in attendance.
ESPN.com is reporting that he is gone as is an AP report on Yahoo Sports.
Terms are rumored to be a buyout of 3.5 million to void the remaining 5 years on his contract.
Assuming this is the case, who do you all think will be the leading cadidate to replace him?

First SEC Outing of 07
Ed Orgeron is out at Ole Miss following a winless SEC season. After a 3-9 season I'm sure even Ed expected to be let go.
Given the problems with the program (namely 20 players caught stealing radios from hotels) I can't see this drawing a big name coach. Anyone have any ideas on the next new coach at Ole Miss?
