Is it just me or do Yankees fans always get the short end of the stick when it comes to being a fan but living in another state? I am a lifelong Yankees fan from Arlington, VA, a Northern Virginia city located 5 minutes from Washington D.C. My parents are from Staten Island and Queens respectively, so maybe that has something to do with it. I've been to several games at Yankees stadium, and I always go to games when I'm up there visiting family in the summer. But people never ask me about all that, all I ever get is, "Bandwagoner!" Or I get people saying I should root for the Nationals or Orioles. I'm 23 and I've always rooted for the Yanks through good and bad times. I never hear this same hatred towards Red Sox or Dodgers or Phillies fans who don't live in those respective city. Somebody please tell me, why so much venom towards Yanks fans from around the good old US of A?
