Hi, I'm David Wunderlich. Or Dave, whichever you prefer. Feel free to email me at any time.

I am a graduate of the University of Florida with both a BS and MS in Decision and Information Sciences. I am in Illinois thanks to my wife joining the Navy, but I spent five years in Charlotte, NC after college before to being exiled to the Rust Belt. I was born and raised a Gator, and still remain a devoted Gator to this day.

I used to run the blog year2.wordpress.com before coming to Team Speed Kills, have had opinion articles published in the Orlando Sentinel, have been published on FoxSports and Scout.com, and have been a guest on sports talk radio show in three different time zones..

Yes, the Georgia Southern loss factors in, but shame certainly doesn't.

+

South Carolina could have easily won the SEC East last season if not for awful field position.

Jim Donnan Not Guilty of Running Scam

+

Jim Donnan was up on 41 counts of fraud and related crimes, accused of running a multimillion dollar Ponzi scheme. He argued that he was just a victim too, as his business partner was the mastermind and he was just a pawn. Well, the jury agreed with him and acquitted him on all charges.

Abandon Hope of Scheduling Consistency

44

Don't expect to ever see a standardized scheduling format among the power conferences as long as we have the current setup.

AT&T, DirecTV, and Conference Networks

+

AT&T is trying to buy DirecTV for $50 billion. AT&T is a partner for both the Pac-12 Networks and the SEC Network, while DirecTV hasn't signed up for either. Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News broke down what the proposed AT&T-DTV merger might mean for the P12N. You can basically just sub in the SECN if DirecTV tries to play hardball with Mike Slive in the way it has with Larry Scott. If you're interested in conference network carriage rights wrangling, be sure to read the whole thing.

The SEC Network's Real Challenge

29

Hint: It's not Comcast's harebrained campaign.

Comcast is Fighting the SEC Network

21

Comcast has begun running a ham fisted commercial done up in the grand political scare/attack ad style asking for fans to push back against ESPN and the SEC for daring to ask for money for SEC Network carriage. It's undoubtedly a counteroffensive to the SECN's campaign to try to rally fans behind the network. (via Thomas Goldkamp)

What is the SEC's Non-Conference Schedule Penalty?

25

It only matters if someone will actually get the penalty.

SEC Preserves Eight Game Schedule

120

It's not surprising, but it does contain one interesting bit.

SEC Attendance Was Up in '13. What Does that Mean?

10

Talking about attendance numbers for an entire conference gets problematic quickly.
