Most of you in the Royals Review community would agree that the ideal situation for right fielder Jeff Francoeur with the Royals would be to find him a platoon partner for right handed pitchers. ...
I love baseball players with funky fresh names (i.e. Coco Crisp, Melky Cabrera, Antonio Bastardo etc.), and the DSL Royals roster certainly does no disappoint. I get that it's Latin America, so I wouldn't expect to see any John Smith's or what not, but some of these guys have the craziest names I've ever seen. Get a load of some of these beauties! 3B-Wander Franco! SS-JECKSON Flores! LHP-Yojensy Arias! C-Eddy Melo! And my personal favorite... RF-Brawlun Gomez! If Brawlun Gomez ever rushes the mound, I want video footage! CLASSIC!
As of now, Luis Mendoza is sitting as the Royal's 6th starting pitcher on their depth chart. There are reasons to love him; there are reasons to hate him. His stats have been excellent both this...
These rankings are for an ESPN Standard 5 Category League. The categories are R, HR, RBI, SB, and AVG, so obviously they don't hold much weight in actual player value. Here's how our Royals fare: (overall/amongst batters/amongst OF) Melky-#22/#15/#8 Gordo-#29/#21/#9 French Fry-#45/#33/#18 Gordon was drafted in the late rounds in most leagues, and Melky and Frenchy generally went undrafted. Needless to say, if your fantasy OF is the Royals OF, then you have a good OF. This is the first year in a long time where multiple players have significant fantasy relevance. On top of our OF, Hosmer, Butler, and believe it or not, Getz to an extent (SBs) have all been good fantasy pick ups. Regardless of how this translates to play on the field, and how much of the value is rapped up in SBs (Melky and Frenchy) I find it rather exciting.
Finally, Jake Odorizzi was promoted to NWA today, a promotion which he very much deserves. His stats, especially strikeouts, are among the most impressive in the minor leagues. 103 K's in 78...
This is a random highlight video I found on youtube, their are plenty more just like it, but go to the 4 minute mark in this video. Charles makes 3 guys fall flat on their face simultaneously, goes on to evade several more texans as QB1 himself takes on run blocking duties and just flattens a defender. My absolute favorite highlight amongst many great ones.
As great as Carson Palmer was today, it's time to face the facts. He is probably not a starting QB in the NFL anymore. There is a good chance the Bengals will will be looking to go in a new...
Heres how I see it the rest of the way. The Chiefs will be the favorite: Jaguars, Bills, Raiders, and Broncos at home. Raiders in Oakland. The Chiefs will probably be the favorite: Cardinals at...
