"An under the radar player who is expected to be a very hot free agent is 49ers receiver Josh Morgan. Teams are buzzing about the possibility of acquiring Morgan, who is considered a very good talent who should be available at a lesser price than the receivers on the top rung. The 49ers have been enthralled with Morgan for four years, but he never really had a breakout because of health issues and offensive ineptitude in previous seasons. A broken leg limited him to five games in 2011. But front office men see Morgan as someone with decent size, speed, toughness and play-making ability." --Seems like Morgan remaining in SF might not be such a sure thing.

Kyle-williams-struggle-2

'Dust Devil' is officially the Nostradamus of the sports world. Could that description of K. Williams be any better in light of yesterday's monumental fumbles?

A look at Smith's game versus the Eagles and some reasons why he was successful. For my part, I was just glad to see him allowed to do more than 'game manage.'

"They (Bengals) exchanged a seventh-round pick in 2013 with the 49ers for Mays last week..."

7th round, huh? That is incredibly weak.

"jstaley74 @Boobie24Dixon it's 10 am where are your 86 tweets about nothing in particular?"

Joe Staley is the man. I'm glad someone told Dixon his tweets are absurd.

I'm not a Razzano 'fan' necessarily, but I also don't despise him like some on NN. Whatever your feelings, give this interview a shot because he has some interesting insights into the Draft and addresses Kaepernick (likes him) and other 49ers picks.

"Do you think when 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was watching tape on Colin Kaepernick he saw a little of himself (a great athlete with foot quickness, the ability to run and a strong arm)? When evaluating the tape, Kaepernick is not as accurate as Harbaugh was as a player. In fact, Kaepernick's lack of accuracy makes Locker look precise with the ball -- now that is a scary thought. Kaepernick will take some time to develop. Even when that happens, I am not sure he is a starter."

Harsh words from Mr. Lombardi. Was CK's accuracy really that bad at Nevada?

National Football Post's 2011 draft value chart. A blatant rip off of the PFW chart from last week, but still worth a look.

PFW's Nolan Nawrocki created a draft value chart that is: "based on considerable feedback from NFL teams and projects the league value of players, pinpointing a specific area where players likely will be drafted."

"If you're 6'6" or over you should be allowed to piss in the sink--just throwing that out there. Only the bathroom sink of course." --Anthony Davis

Coincidentally, he's listed at 6'5" ( http://www.nfl.com/players/anthonydavis/profile?id=DAV129997 )

Pretty certain 49ers fans agree that we need more out of Crabs. If he puts in the effort, I'm hopeful he can make great strides under Harbaugh.

BY is one of my all-time favorite 49ers. I'm sure he'll make a strong Florida program even better.

Good summary of the NFL labor situation and the primary disagreements between the owners and players.

Long interview w/ Baalke and Harbaugh. Good stuff.

Just to throw some more fuel on the fire. There's a great quote from an unnamed scout who basically says what we all believe--"Smith is a nice guy, but a bad QB." He even says Smith is the single worst QB in the NFL.

WTF?

This article is complete heresy. It's a perfect example of a writer just trying to be a contrarian for the hell of it. There is absolutely no f'ing way that Don Hutson is greater by any measure than Jerry Rice. Period. End of story.

I do agree, though, that Emmitt isn't the greatest running back of all time. That honor has to go to someone like Jim Brown and even that is still subject to debate.

As to greatest of all time at WR, there's zero debate.. Jerry is the GOAT.

"G**dammit, why does he have to be such a g**damned drama queen? Play, don't play, g**damn, people are getting sick of it. I'm getting sick of it!"

I now have a great deal of respect for Bus Cook.

John Clayton discusses 2nd year players, including Crabtree, and expectations for the upcoming season based on their rookie years.

Despite what he says, I'm glad the Niners have Crabtree and not Bryant because Crabtree is a hard worker who brings the talent w/out the baggage.

An interesting take by Ann Killion on the 49ers stadium situation and the history of voters generally opposing stadium measures in the Bay Area. She claims that some people are saying it's best for the Yorks if the stadium measure fails. Don't know if I agree, but it's a new angle...

Good new is that the knee wasn't infected. Bad news, obviously, is that he had to have surgery.
