10/20 Kazmir Fail
So it's come down to this. The reason the Angels wanted Scott Kazmir is so that he could give them some extra oomph in the postseason. Watching tonight's game, I had some major nostalgia about Kaz's long journey back from the DL for the Rays this season.
It's safe to say that this series is well over at this point. I can't envision any way the Yankees won't win it all in the WS. They're just too good.
Tonight's game was really tough to watch. Kaz walked a bunch of batters. He gave up a homerun, several base hits, and a bunch of the outs were hard-hit line drives and fly balls. When he got pulled after five innings, the camera showed him throwing his glove down in the locker room corridor, frustrated and helpless.
I was wondering what peoples' reaction to this game is. This was undoubtedly the biggest game of the Angels' entire season. Hell, because the Angels may be the only team that can beat the Yankees -- this may have been the defining game of the entire AL season. And Scott Kazmir was there, right at the heart of it. Out of our small-market town, and plunged into the heart of a major media market. Booed by fans who held red clappers, not cowbells. Booed by those who hadn't really paid attention to his early-season fireworks this year. Booed by those who hadn't supported him over the years, like we have.
I feel sad for him, and sad for the Rays as well.
Is Kevin Kennedy done?
Haven't heard him during the last few games on MLB.tv. Seems like Anderson has taken his place.
I think Anderson does a better job because he seems more enthusiastic about the team. I'm getting pretty annoyed by Kennedy's little chuckle, which he deploys even when there's nothing funny going on. Does anyone have any info about what happened? Or is this just for the road games?
This last sentence is just to meet the 75 word limit.
