Trade Drawer - I'm Bored & Have Internet
This is my proposed consolidation trade. It involves three teams the Bobcats, Rockets and Blazers.
Blazers:
Out:
Outlaw
Webster
Bayless
In:
Bobcats:
Out:
Gerald Wallace
In:
Rockets:
Out:
Tracy McGrady
Brent Barry
In:
Nazr Mohammed
Boris Diaw
Raja Bell
Why This Trade Should Happen:
For the Blazers: Consolidates young talent into a single superior starter and a expiring veteran.
For the Bobcats: Money. T-Mac is a giant expiring contract. The save money plus they get two young quality players.
For the Rockets: Bigs. They get a decent big man plus another quality forward. They also add Raja Bell to fill Ron Artest spot.
Why This Trade Won't Happen:
For the Blazers: Pritchard seems unwilling to give up young talent, especially Bayless.
For the Bobcats: They trade away almost they're entire starting line-up for an unproven player, a career back up and a washed up superstar.
For the Rockets: They probably want more for T-Mac and don't really have a need for Boris Diaw

Tayshaun Prince
This is a little piece that i am copying and pasting here from clubblazers.com.
Here's what is says:
On Brian Wheeler’s show tonight on 95.5FM, The Game, he mentioned he has a hunch that Kevin Pritchard is rumored to be looking for a big move on draft day and he has a hunch that it may not be Kevin moving up, but out of the draft.
One player that Brian hears that keep’s popping up in the rumors going around the NBA is Portland has Tayshaun Prince high on their list of young veteran players they are seriously looking at in acquiring on draft day.
Tayshaun Prince
Age 28, 6′9″, 215 lbs.
Talented all-around player - Good shooting skills - Can drive to the basket or shoot the outside shot - Excellent defender, voted NBA all-defensive 2nd team 3 years in ‘04-’05, ‘05-’06 & ‘07-’08
What will it cost the Blazers?
Rumored price at #13, Travis Outlaw, Martell Webster and Jarrett Jack
for Tayshaun Prince & #29
I think this is an interesting idea and would probably do it if I could.
Boston Vs. Cleveland Game 7
I'm going to start this FanPost(I love how FanPost has become a compound word with Fan and Post beginning with a capital letter). I'm going out on an edge. I think that Lebron will really step it up in Game 7 and elimintate Boston. I base this prediction on nothing. except spite for Boston. What are your thoughts?
Randon Fact: Gavin mentioned on 95.5 today that he and Casey are starting a new blazers podcast and they said Dave would be a guest.
We don't need another all-star
Note before you start reading: I WOULD LOVE to have another all-start I just don't believe it's necessary or likely.
There has been a lot of talk recently about getting a premiere point guard. Guys like, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul or occasionally Deron Williams. I am on the opinion that we don't need a point guard as talented as one those fine gentlemen. We already have three players who are arguably going to be good enough to be all-star caliber.
What we have:
1.Brandon Roy, already is an all-star. Will almost definitely average twenty point per game next year.
2.Lamarcus Aldridge, already averaging 17 points and 7 rebounds in only his second season. My guess would be that LMA will average at least 20 points per game next year.
3.Greg Oden: if GO lives up to expectations he will end up be able to average near twenty points a game pretty easily. Not next season, but eventually. My prediction for Greg next year: a simple double double 10 points 10 rebounds. I hope I'm lowballing him, but hey, I'm a pressimist.
4.Travis Outlaw: is averaging about 13 points a game this year, let's just suppose he averages the same next year. So next year 13 points per game.
.5Martell Webster: averaging about 10 points I expect he will improve next season and average 12-14 points per game.
6.Rudy Fernadez: I have no idea what he going to do next year, but I assume he'll play and score a few points: random guess 8 points per game.
The Power of math
Points a game next year
B.Roy: 20
LMA: 20
GO: 10
Travis: 13
Martell: 13
Rudy: 8
Total: 81
Conlusion so far: We don't really need another player that can score. If you consider that the blazers can use only 6 players and reach 81 points plus add in the other players on the team that will be playing we don't need another scorer. I don't think we not another star.
What we do need.
1.A slight improvement on Steve Blake. I would like this unnamed player to be a bit quicker than Steve, play better defense and have a better percentage three point shot if at all possible.
Why I don't think we need a starting SF: I think that one of three things will eventually happen.
1.Roy and Rudy will be starting together, but Roy won't be the point guard. I.E. Rudy at SF
2.Martell will continue to develop into our starting SF, improved defense and more consistency.
3.Travis Outlaw will be the starting SF, improved defense, range and consistency.
The Real Conclusion: I think the Blazers truly only have one piece left to find and that player will not be a all-star point guard, but a smart, veteran capable a running the team efficiently.
Now a couple question:
1.Is the point guard I talk of Calderon or Harris
2.Am I just completely wrong
top players to build a team around. Brandon Roy?
So I play a lot of NBA 2K8, and to spice up the game a lot of times I do the fantasy draft option. Basically for those people that don't play NBA videogames all the players are put into a league wide draft. It results in more even teams, or is supposed to. I was thinking today about two, well now I have a third, questions while mindlessly wasting my time playing today and that is:
- Who are your top players to build a NBA team around. Not necessarily the best players, but the best players to build a team around. Make a list of your 5,10, 15 make a list of however many players you like
- Is Brandon in the top 30?
- does Greg or LMA have to potential or likelyhood to get on the list
- Lebron, Chris Paul, Kobe, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard,
- Yes
- Not really sure.
LMA Vs. Chris Bosh
I think that Lamarcus and Chris Bosh have fairly similar games, so I decided to do a little investigating and found that their stats in the second year on similar.
From that you can see that they have similar averages. Chris Bosh did rebound better. I think though Lamarcus will end up being a similar player.
This is my first diary so if there are any problems with it I blame them on that.
