Cassel making himself at home with the Chiefs - Kansas City Star

+

"We have great players on this team at each and every position that can compete and can play," Cassel said. "It’s not going to be about that. It’s going to be about whether or not we can execute the plays we’re given and whether we can mesh as a team. "We’ve got everything we need to have to win ballgames in this league." I like the sound of that!!!!

Chiefs camp buzz | Haley wants consistency from receivers - Kansas City Star

+

Babb's Report on Camp yesterday. But he misqoutes Haley here: Haley is a former wide receivers coach, and he has said he pays extra attention to wideouts during practices — a habit he admitted he needs to curb because of the Chiefs’ other weaknesses — and that the drops are frustrating. Haley said it was because he used to coach WR. But not a bad article.

Gretz has the injury list and players put on PUP. Surprising...wonder just what this means.

Gretz reports Dorsey has talked with Jackson

+

He wants to be here, but he’s got to take care of business," Dorsey said Friday afternoon as he headed into the UW-River Falls cafeteria for lunch. "It was the same with me. I wanted to be here from the first day last year, but there are things you have to get done and it’s the time you do them.

Chiefs' No. 1 pick absent as training camp begins - Kansas City Star

Magee says he talked to Jackson: "the Chiefs’ top pick indicated to Magee that first-year general manager Scott Pioli and Jackson’s agent, Eugene Parker, were close to a deal."

Gretz talks about the arrival and this morning's test at 10 am. He notes Waters looks slimmer and says LJ looks in best shape since rookie season.

Chiefs have a new look and a new attitude; but they’ve had that before - Kansas City Star

2

Babb's take on how the new energy and attitude has been seen before with poor results. I think this year will be better than last. And I love this quote: "The defense couldn’t keep a three-toed sloth from running for 150 yards"

A Hope For LJ

This is on Gretz's site, but not written by him. This was an email he received and decided to pass on. I'd say a fan's take on LJ.

This Place Is Just TOO Cool

I'm just sitting here and looking through all the posts, and there are four PAGES of post gone down in the last day.  All the information that is fit to print and more besides.  I'm LOVING this...

He makes some excellent points here about this being a make or break deal for Pioli.

Who Will The Chiefs Cut?

Since we are seeing teams cutting players all over the place, I guess we need to start thinking about who is next for the Chiefs.  During OTAs, teams can have 85 players.  For training camp, they...

Winds Changing in Arrowhead with Construction--Gretz's Take

He also talks about Steve McNair. Only two other quarterbacks had 30,000 yds passing AND 3000 yds rushing. Lets see if anyone can guess who those two guys are?

Gretz talks about offseason turmoil

+

I had forgotten almost all of this about the '76 offseason. Wow, I can't imagine all the posts we would have been making about the things that went on then. Bobby Bell a Raider? John Matuszak a Chief...and OD's at camp? Yeehaa. Great write up.

Big Lack of Big Plays--Gretz Points This Out

3

Good write up by Gretz on the lack of big plays coming from the Chiefs the last two years.

Savage to work with Priest

2

Priest Holmes is going to work out and mentor Dantrell Savage before training camp starts. Gee, wouldn't it be nice to have another undersize star? Probably too much to hope for!

The Dorsey Thing....Again

It is pretty amazing how there are so many Chiefs fans who think Glen Dorsey is a bust.  We go through this every time someone talks about the draft, the defense, or available FA.  And it is not...

Great OL playing together

3

This is another in their series of rating groups of players together. Kind of an inexact science, but an interesting read anyway. The '02 Chiefs come out as the #29 best all-time line to ever play.

T.O. gets the T.O. treatment

Not exactly Chiefs related, but just to funny not to mention. Maybe now he knows what it feels like.

AFC West offensive all-decade team thoughts

Quite a few Chiefs close to making the All-Decade team!

According to Gretz, the draft picks currently do not count against the 80 player limit. Cutting some players means we will probably be signing some draft picks.

The things he points out didn't get done are things we have talked about a lot on here. And frankly, none of them worry me all that much. Bring on the season!

Chiefs coach Haley not the type to take it easy on his team - Kansas City Star

Good read about Haley's style. Not there to be a nice guy. If nice guys finish last....we may be headed for the top!
