I grew up in the 5-Points area of Denver, and have always bled Orange and Blue. I follow my (our) team no matter what, and I'll die with my allegiance to this team.

Don't know if anyone saw or posted this yet, but it sounds to me like KO left Denver with some bad things to say...lol

Mile High Report By all means

Since my "self-banishment" comment got removed for no good reason, I will post it here again, and if this gets removed, then I will know that my opinion doesn't count for sh*t.

Oh, and if sh*t is the reason this gets removed, give me a freaking break. I hear worse on MHR radio, so please don't fly the "family-friendly" banner over my use of grown up words. I'm a grown man, and I'm sure 95% of you are as well, no matter how immature you may be, so please don't get butt hurt over some grown up words. After today, I'm sure most of you feel like sh*t anyway.

How would everyone feel about McD and the FO trying to trade for a young, experienced ILB with 3-4 expertise? Apparently, A.J. Hawk is looking for a trade out of Green Bay, and we might be able to put something together to acquire him.
What say you, MHR?

Mile High Report Starting LG Ryan Lilja released by the Colts

With the Rex Hadnot deal reportedly not happening, and Tony Pashos being locked up by the Browns after flirting with the Broncos, the Broncos are coming up short on FA O-Linemen that fit the mold of what Coach McDaniels is trying to instill in our beloved Orange and Blue.  With that said, the Colts have just released their starting LG Ryan Lilja, a 6', 2" 290lb offensive guard who is in his 5th pro year, and is only 28 y.o.

I understand he is a little light, but he was part of a Super-Bowl team, and he is about the same height and weight as Casey Weigmann, who performed well for his age.  I'm not too sure what type of running scheme the Colts ran, but I'm sure that Lilja being on the market should catch the attention of our FO.

Any thoughts?

Mile High Report OH NO!!!!

So, I was reading through the one-liners at profootballtalk.com, and came across this lil nugget...

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests that impending restricted free agent OLB Elvis Dumervil will be on the Dolphins' radar this offseason.

The connection with Mike Nolan is obvious, as Dumervil enjoyed a career year under the Fins' new defensive boss in 2009. Dumervil also is from Miami. Denver, however, will make every effort to retain the 26-year-old NFL sacks leader.

...and I got to thinking," This makes too much sense."

Doom is from Miami, and he has close relatives that live in Haiti.  We may tender Doom the full amount, but am I the only one who thinks that his familial ties to that region may be so strong that he would want to "go home"?  I mean, we could offer a huge pay raise, but if he refuses to sign, what more can we do?

My take:  If he wants to go home, I say let him, but not without compensation. Maybe a trade for Channing Crowder, or Sean Smith/Vontae Davis?  Also, after reading Sayre's great post, is it possible that Miami is the trading partner that best fits with what we need?  I'm sure that they (Miami) have some talent on the o-line, and they have talent in the LB corps and DB unit.  Don't misread this, though.  I love me some Doom, and Mike Nolan really unlocked a ton of potential in him by standing him up.  I would hate to lose all this talent, especially to a team in the same conference, but Doom might just want to go home, and who are we to say no?  If you put yourself in his shoes, wouldn't you want the same?

Please share your thoughts with me, MHR.  All comments are welcome, but if you start calling names, don't be hurt when you get it right back.

Mile High Report Just some thoughts...

Well, it has happened.  Our mighty Broncos have fallen in the Charm City in unremarkable fashion.  We now stand at 6-1, with a 2 gm lead in the AFC West.  Were to lay blame?  Where to point the finger?  Nowhere, IMO.  We lost to a desperate team with a great balance.  The Ravens are better than many may think.  Remember, this Ravens team made it to the AFC Championship game last year, with a rookie QB, no less.

I want to raise a few questions for our outstanding members here at MHR.

Mile High Report My last nerve for Jamie Dukes

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/07/16/players-media-have-trust-issues-with-mcdaniels/ I have had it with Jamie Dukes and his failing attempt at relevancy. After 2 separate shows with a former Denver great, and a disgruntled Denver WR, I come across this virtual garbage after reading a blurb about it on ProFootballTalk.com . For some reason, I decided to read what Dukes wrote, and I literally wanted to cause physical harm to him. In fact, I actually thought about how I measure up to him, physically, and how long it takes to drive to LA from Tacoma, WA. He claims that players have come to him expressing how they have trust issues with McDaniels, yet he didn't say who. Maybe this is the wrong venue to post this, so if I'm out of line, my apologies. But I am SOOO wanting to punch his face in right now. I vow to never mention his name again, or to watch NFLTA while he is on-air. GO BRONCOS!!!!!

Mile High Report Crow, please.

I've read in a few fanposts the differing opinions of this whole Brandon Marshall situation, and in a few of the more negative ones, I replied with the intent of defending Brandon, just because I felt that the contract renegotiation angle of most of the arguments was the dominant one, and I felt that his skipping minicamp was just to stay away from the Dove Valley medical staff. I argued that he wasn't skipping for money, but he wasn't here because he has no faith in the medical staff. I used Jay Cutler's weight loss in '07, Rod Smith's career-ending hip injury, and the plethora of groin and muscle pulls and strains from last year as reasons why Brandon might not want them anywhere near his rehab process. I even tried to defend his image, stating that he was still maturing, that he was rid of Rasheeda Watley, and that he made a public promise on "Outside The Lines" to not get into any legal trouble again. I had faith in him. I'll take my crow chicago-style, please. Good luck, 6 and 15.

Mile High Report A thought...(repost)

Okay, so Alphonso Smith grew up in Florida, and I’m pretty sure he watched some Miami Heat games, who had an undersized, hardworking center named Alonzo Mourning. So he goes to WF, blows it up, and comes into the Draft as the No. 1 CB prospect out there, according to multiple websites. But all the draft "experts" say,"If Alphonso Smith were 2-3 taller, he’d be the top CB picked, ahead of Malcolm Jenkins." So, he hears all this mumbo-jumbo, and decides to pick up the number he remembered from his days growing up, watching Alonzo Mourning work his ass off to become what? Defensive Player of the Year. I like that motivation. I posted this in a reply from an earlier post about the numbers all the new folks will be donning. I wanted to get some feedback from anyone else that might have the same thought. Plus, this is my first FanPost. Thanks.
