Tebow's Tears are Good
So I see a link on the front page of Yahoo Sports entitled "Tebow's Tears Are Good"... wait.. what? I click on it, and it takes me to an article about research into football players showing emotion. They mention Tebow crying and the kiss between Tebow and Joiner. Funny stuff.
PAC 12 changes USC/Utah score post-game
USC blocked Utah's last second field goal attempt which would have tied the game and took it to the house. However the officials called the score back citing the new "live ball taunting rule" when USC players rushed the field during the play. However, apparently that rule is only supposed to apply to the 11 players on the field. So the PAC 12 retroactively changed the official score of the game.
Several things here.
1. This new rule is retarded and some official WILL eventually ruin an important game with a BS call.
2. That being said, how do you change the score of a game? The game is the game. If the officials blow a call, it's a blown call. It's ridiculous for a committee to meet after the game and change what happened. Where do you draw the line?
3. How dumb is it that you can run on the field and taunt the hell out of the other team and NOT get the score called back, but if a guy dives into the endzone unnecessarily then the score comes off the board?
4. I would have LOVED for Lane Kiffin to get screwed by something like this after he ran his mouth about Cody in the 2009 game.

Tressel knew about players selling merchandise 8 months before reporting it.
What? I thought cheating and unethical conduct was an SEC thing? (sarcasm)
The whole thing with letting those players participate in the bowl game was so fishy. This one will be interesting to watch.
Joke I heard on Bob & Tom radio show
"So I was in new york a few weeks ago. Something interesting happened. The Heisman Trust did something they had never done before. When they gave Auburn quarterback Cam Newton the Heisman Trophy, they also gave him a receipt in case he needs to return it" - random commedian on B&T I lol'd.
Lets beat these boogs!
Should Richardson have been starting over Ingram?
Last year when people would speak of Trent Richardson being better than Mark Ingram, I was one to scoff at those remarks. Sure, Richardson showed us that he has amazing physical tools, but Ingram clearly had the experience, talent, and he was simply playing better. He won the Heisman trophy for a reason. I did think that Richardson had the potential to eclipse Mark Ingram, given time.
Perhaps that time has come, judging by this year's stats.
EDSBS- Just got back from the middle-east
Highly recommend reading this...
For Cam Newton
Hearing Julio had hand surgery.
I hate that this guy can't stay healthy. Such great talent. Seems to be a great person.
Sports Shows to watch/listen to
I'm curious to hear some of the RBR faithful's opinions on various sports shows, whether they be television, radio, or podcasts. I'll go over some of the ones I watch and let you know what I think about them. Of course the Paul Finebaum show dominates the headlines in Alabama and now has gone national on Sirius. Personally I like it, listen to it a good deal, and call in every now and then. Love it or hate it, most people here know about it and already have their opinion of the show, so moving along...
Perhaps the most prominent show revolving around college football is College Football Live from the "Worldwide Leader". I've watched this show for years, and it was pretty good this summer with all of the expansion and other news. But during this season it's been boring. I wonder if it's just that I'm getting the news from other sources such as SBN, yahoo, etc. so that the content on CFL is old hat by the time I watch it. Then again, it may be that Palmer, Smith, and company aren't as engaging as some of the previous hosts. Regardless, I'm seriously considering dropping this from my DVR.
The other major ESPN college football show is "The Experts". It's new, loooong, and surprisingly good. They have a lot of personalities and "experts" sitting around for 3 hours talking about college football. The format allows them to go into issues with much more depth than you see on similar shows. However, the 3 hour duration and afternoon time slot means that you pretty much have to have a DVR to watch it, but if you have one you can watch it piecemeal during the week for some good entertainment.
Text from Nick:
Who's your dadddy, Urban? LOLZ. Where's your Tebow now!
Dooley still blaming the refs
"We may as well start with the obvious question -- why we had 13 guys on the field. It was certainly not your normal substitution play. We had about 150 plays prior to that on offense, defense and special teams and both sides had no issue on substituting with the exception of a couple of things. Goal line is always the tricky one because it's the furthest from the bench and there are a lot more big guys in the game. It was kind of a double substitution. What happened was, there were 32 seconds left, they have their goal line in, we have our goal line in, they run a quarterback sweep, Nick Reveiz makes a great play and then there's a long pause. It's that time where they line up and it looks like they're going to clock it and then it looks like they're going to run another play. So we have to get a call in. We get our goal line, we go goal line and we call our call. So now the players are locked into the play. And then the clock's ticking. And then at about 15 seconds left, they change. They run their personnel on, they get their sub package in and we have to match personnel or otherwise we can't have goal line people covering their receivers, so we go to base. We go to base and we begin to run our base on. At 9 seconds, the umpire steps over the ball. At 7 seconds he steps away. A couple of guys are still getting out there at 6 seconds, center goes down, snaps it at 3 and we don't get our guys off the field. That's what happened. -Derek Dooley
Hey guys, make sure to include Texas Tech in the meltdown post
The beatdown of Tubs at the hands of the Iowa State Cyclones was overlooked because of all the crazy shit in the SEC, but it's pretty funny. I took a peek over there, and they had some epic meltdowns early on. I can't imagine what went down when the clocked ticked to zero and the score was 52-38.

University of Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus informed NCAA investigators that former University of North Carolina assistant coach John Blake recommended agent Gary Wichard to him in a phone conversation last summer, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Blake and Wichard are currently at the center of NCAA and North Carolina Secretary of State probes, as investigators have sought to determine the depth of agent tampering in several college football programs.
Florida Sucks
Jeff Demps possibly out next week for UF?
Huge blow to Florida if he can't play or is limited.
"If a guy wants to borrow money from an agent because he's poor, what is wrong with that?" Barkley said. "Nobody can tell me what is wrong with that. I got money from agents when I was in college and I went in the '80s. Most of the players I know borrowed money from agents. The colleges don't give us anything. If they give us a pair of sneakers, they get in trouble. Why can't an agent lend me some money and I'll pay him back when I graduate?"
Pearl lied to NCAA about hosting HS juniors at his home.
Link Pearl denied that Craft and Selby ever had been to his home when an NCAA investigator initially asked. The problem with that approach was that the NCAA, according to sources, already had in its possession a picture of Pearl and Craft that was snapped inside Pearl's home, which led to the line of questioning in the first place. -Gary Parrish, CBSSports.com

Mount Cody also out 2 weeks for knee surgery.
Just heard it on the radio. Bad day for Alabama. Hopefully we'll get some good news on Dareus soon.
"Almost everyday somebody is in my ear saying 'Aw, go to UT, man...go to Texas'" said Brown, who carries a 3.4 grade point average. "I've just got to make the right decision for me."
"I try to keep my options open, but since I wasn't raised in Texas, it wouldn't be any problem leaving the state," Brown said. "Texas is a great program. I'm not saying they're not good, or anything like that, but I'm trying to keep my options open."
