What to think after 7 weeks..

I know this is one of many of what a lot of these fan posts are about, but I just got done watching the ARIZ - NYG and got to thinking. I'm not going to sit here and find stats to back up what I'm saying, this is an opinion.

The 49ers are 3-3, with identity completely in turmoil. Who is our QB? After watching todays game, it BETTER be Alex Smith. The offense is absolutely TERRIBLE under Shaun Hill, so it was nice to see a change. Why? I have no idea, there is a reason why we hadn't played Smith. So has Smith really got his crap together, and prove to us all the reason as to why we drafted him? I don't know, I'd like to think so. One thing I know for sure, this team is FAR better suited for a QB like Smith as opposed to Hill. With the addition of Crabtree, we have the WR's and TE needed to go downfield a little more, and Hill doesn't give us that option. Also, what goes along with that is a change in the play calling. More pass plays please, for Smith, he showed us he can do it.

Frank Gore... With him coming back, I would assume at 100%, it was certainly a disappointment. I don't know if it's the line or what, but this wasn't the performance I was expecting. I am hoping, though, with Smith, and with the downfield threat that we possibly could have, it will open up some opportunities for him.

Looking at the remaining schedule... I'm concerned. I'm concerned because of the piece of cake schedule the Arizona Cardinals have, compared to the Niners. There have been plenty of posts predicting the outcomes of the games, but in all honesty, that's not accurate. I didn't think Arizona would beat the Giants. But just looking at it, we are at a disadvantage.

In the end, I think it comes down to the play of our QB, Alex Smith. Although Hill has had success starting, he will not get us to the next level. I THINK and I am hoping that the Alex Smith we saw in the Second half, will be the Alex Smith for the rest of the season. If that's the case, I think we will win the division. If not, we will be battling for second place with the Seahawks, and unfortunately, no wildcard.

Sorry for the rambling, I needed to get a few things down while I watch the dang Cardinals take the division lead. Opinions more than welcome.

I was looking through the Rumor Central on my Insider account, and came across something I was not expecting one bit...

Stephen Drew on Boston's radar?

Shortstop Stephen Drew is expected to be shopped by the Diamondbacks, and that should include discussions with the Red Sox, reports the Boston Globe.

Last week, the Globe noted that the list of offseason chores for Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein will include a search for a shortstop.

Should we be making much of this? Seem's a little odd to me.

This article was in the daily star... Take a look at the pictures. Obviously, something that needs to be reviewed, zoomed in, and taken a picture of is certainly a tough call. My problem is the accumulation of bad calls. Oh well. Next game is a new game. Go cats!

Maybe I didn't give us enough credit...? The Chippewas scored with 32 seconds left to make the score 27-26. They attempted to go for the win, but the 2 point conversion failed, however. I was watching ESPNEWS and I quote..."The Chippewas scored all but 10 points to Arizona last week." Though, they only scored 6 points, but I'll take some recognition on ESPNEWS. That's some good news! Some stats, as well as the final score will follow...

Dan Lefevour has rebounded nicely from the game against Arizona.. His stats this game: 30/43 for 305 yards, 2 TD's and an INT. Keep in mind, Arizona held him in check, to say the least.. 18/31 for 108 years and an INT.. Looks as if the game is over, with only 32 seconds left and a kickoff set to take place...
