Vote: message on 2008 Cubs page @ baseball-reference.com
Hey fellow cub fans antagonists...
I've sponsored the 2008 scrubs page @ baseball-reference.com so we cards fans can have a little fun at the cubs expense. I, as the sponsor, get to add my own message to the page, and i'm open for suggestions. My thought (actually all4tookie's) is to take suggestions from VEB for the next few days, and then put the top 5 or so into a poll.
The guidelines for messages are fairly lax, but let's keep 'em clean, clever and painful.
BTW, If you'd like to chip in on the cost of the page, use this paypal link. The page cost me $65, so any small donation is appreciated.
Alright folks: Sorry for using VEB in an inappropriate manner. This was never intended to be meanspirited.
chuckb: Your criticisms are noted. If you'd mentioned your disapproval on Wed when you posted, I'd have ended the discussion then. I don't believe that i've broken any of the Community Guidelines, but I understand why you'd be uncomfortable with what i did. I wasn't attempting to incite anger from anyone.
Let's move along.

Dan & Al on your iPhone
The MLB At Bat application will include video for selected baseball games starting tomorrow. Eventually this would expand to all mlb games. I have this $10 app and love it. The ability to listen to any baseball game any is nice, but television would be glorious.
My main concern is how mlb tv determines your current location for the blackout restriction? GPS? Cell tower triangulation,? wifi ip address? or billing address on the account? Once we know this, then we can figure out a way around the blackouts. FlimtotheFlam, i'm counting on you.

ankiel's story
In light of the media beating (and rightly so) Ankiel took with hgh story last year, perhaps a more personal story will soften the hearts of vebbers. This article in the Palm Beach Post explores the tumultuous relationship between Rick and his dad.
Admittedly, last year I was a bit ambivalent about his return - maybe a bit leery of the spectacle and concerned that he would again let us down as Cardinal fans. But lo and behold, his presence was absolutely magical. He gave us hope last year. Sadly, after the hgh media blowup, he had a couple precipitous moments - ugly strike-outs, followed by some horrendous defensive mistakes. But somehow, with TLR's guilt-ridden patience, he rebounded and now appears to have become a viable major-league hitter.
I'm not sure what to expect out of him this year. His k's and low obp will likely continue to be an issue. But as he seems to have a matured and created a more stable life away from baseball, his prospects are looking up.

Shelley Duncan has a little fun...
Not sure if this has been discussed, but I found it to be rather humorous.
