Yes it's a diet pill, yes they are getting jobbed BUT ...

They are still responsible for they are putting in their body. Had the judge ruled in their favor then what you would have is a built in way for players to cheat. You'd have sports medicine people "spiking" anything and everything with illegal supplements and the player could just say "oh well it wasn't on the label, not my fault." Now this is just my opinion but if I am an athlete I am eating food from the grocery store, working out, staying out of trouble, and cashing six figure checks for playing a game. And the ONLY supplement, or medicine I am putting in my body are going through or are coming from the TEAM doctor. Why these guys manage to screw this up is incredibly stupid. Are the Williams' actions criminal? No. Do they deserve suspensions? Yes. Monday night vs Green Bay without the Wall and no one to blame but themselves. Sucks but it's the truth.

Childress, I am a purple fan and thus you have my support at least one more year. Most people think if Childress does not advance past the first round of the playoffs he will be fired. Now I have faith we will advance, BUT IF we don't...

We will be looking for a new coach in 2010. Mike Shanahan might be a good option. Which at least to me seems yet another great reason why we should make a play at Cutler. Sage should be part of that deal (we would be keeping our word to him giving him a chance to compete for a starting job). Sage and multiple picks spread over a couple years.

Housh and Washington off the board so will the MN Vikings make a move to acquire another Wide Receiver? I have moved past disappointment and anger and am now looking ahead. I am not even sure where WR really is on our priority list but it seems reasonable to assume that having identified this as a need that we will be active somehow to fill the WR need. Personally I would rather not spend a darft pick unless the best player available is a WR.

It seems like it's down to us and New York (at least based on his list of teams he wants to play for). Seems like a good fit and despite rumors I do not think he would e out of our price range, especially with the apparent lack of interest.

Can anyone confirm he is on the way here?

Regardless of QB

First of all I am a TJack fan, people fail to grasp that is called development and Tavaris has constantly imporved and he is a great athlete. That said ... it is not the point of my post. My point is ....

Regardless of our QB our coach and coordinators need to do a better job of disguising run / pass. When AD is on the field 90% of the time it's a run, Taylor = pass. It's ridiculous. It's absurd they might as well be holding giant queue cards they say we re RUNNING or we are PASSING.

In my my humble opinion they need to disrupt that ratio, and for the love of God run more pro form sets where both Taylor and Peterson are on the field. Game planning to to stop them both at the same time would almost certainly keep the opposing line backers attention.

Confusing the defenses more allows Peterson more room and should give our QBs more windows of opportunity regardless of the QB. We don't need to trade, draft, or spend money to alter our offensive strategy and therefor first and foremost this HAS to change.

If this were Texas Hold em we are now "all in". The judge having postponed this judgment and delayed any pending suspension has put us in a precarious place in that if we lose the Wall now it's gone for at least one playoff game. Going 2-2 without them seemed ... possible, but winning in the playoffs without them does not.

We are now past the point of no return, let us hope for the love of all things purple that this ruling comes down in our favor.

Obviously an above average QB under center increases our chances of success, and obviously Gus is not going to be our solution.

I had read many posts on here suggesting Matt Cassel is our best bet - that makes me really nervous since is still very unproven and will want a big contract. Some other posts want McNabb (meh sure), others suggest Vick (who let the dogs out!), or draft a QB ( Booty failed already?).

Garcia looked pretty good in S.F, Philly, and with Tampa in every season I can remember. He is an UFA this offseason, a good pocket passer, and as he demonstrated against our beloved purple recently he is still mobile in the pocket when need be.

Why not Garcia in 09?
