If the Braves ever left Atlanta
First off I would like to say that I don't even know if this is a possibility. I don't know if there is some sort of binding agreement that says the Braves are bound to Atlanta. Secondly, I'm not promoting this idea. I've got no beef with Atlanta or its fine citizens. I was born after the Milwaukee era & the only Braves I have known are the Atlanta Braves. What got me thinking along these lines was the post about the new alternate uni's. I got on a Braves history site to try to find a uniform which matched the new ones. I discovered that the new uni's closely resemble the ones worn by the Milwaukee team of the early 60's. There was a side note that said that soon after removing the Tomahawk logo from the jersey that the team moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta.
And so the seed was planted. What if this is a sign? What if the Braves left Atlanta? Would there be weeping & gnashing of teeth? Sackcloth & ashes? Would there be heartbreak like when the Dodgers left Brooklyn or meh, no big deal? I started thinking which cities would be good candidates. Charleston has a rich southern heritage similar to what Atlanta has to offer but do they have the fanbase to support a MLB team? Then I thought Nashville would be a good fit since they already support an NFL team. Maybe they would go full circle & return to Boston? Maybe Boston could be like New York, hosting both an AL & NL team. And so I pose these questions to the TC faithful if you so care to partake. What if the Braves moved from Atlanta? Would you care or not? What city do you think would be a good fit if they ever moved? Thanks for the input.
2011 Brave hearts. R.I.P.
As we all kick back to watch the ball drop and to bring in the New Year let us not forget some will not be joining us. Below is a list of former Braves players who have passed in 2011. Some names you will recognize. Some names you won't. Some had lengthy careers in a Braves uni and some were brief. However, they all accomplished something many of us dream of. They strapped on the cleats, donned the Tomahawk jersey and played the game at the major league level. I hope you guys don't mind me taking up some FanPosts space to pay respects to these former Bravo's. Maybe there's a relative of one of these players that's a member of TC & this will give them a smile. If so, I hope this starts their new year off with the blessing of knowing your loved one is not forgotten.
Ernie Johnson Sr., Wes Covington, Chuck Tanner, Roy Hartsfield, George Crowe, Ron Piche, Gino Cimoli, Bob Rush, Normie Roy, Eddie Joost, Mike Krsnich, Merritt Ranew, Roy Smalley, Dave Cole, Nick Strincevich.
Rest in peace & thank you for the memories that are Braves baseball.

Dear Santa,
I have been a good Braves fan this year. (Just ask my wife. She didn't see me from April-Sept of last year.) Even while I watched one of the most painful disentegrations that a baseball team can endure in Sept, I kept my cursing to a minimum & my T.V. is still intact. I still wore my Braves hat to work & endured the mocking from my fellow workers with integrity. This year I would like to write to you my Christmas list. Please do your best to leave these presents under the tree.
1. Please let Dan Uggla get off to a good start. He's traditionally a slow start guy. Last year was a little too traditional. (Even though the "Phoneix rising" thing was a joy to watch.)
2. Let Jason Heyward hit another opening day HR to make it 3 years in a row. And then, let him keep hitting HR's every game for the rest of the season so that he can regain his immortal status in our hearts.
3. Please change Freddie Freeman's pic on the ESPN stat page. I don't need to go into details.
4. Could you please set it up to where Joe does more talking than Chip during the broadcasts.
5. Please take the bad taste of September out of our mouths. Don't let "The Collapse" affect attendance at the Ted in 2012.
6. Finally, let the Mets stay in the cellar, break the Nationals curse over us, increase the aging process of the Phillies, and may every high dollar deal the Marlins make explode in their face.
I'll leave some peanuts, cracker jack & a hot dog under the tree for you. Don't forget to say "Hi" to Rudolph for me. (Can he play S.S. by the way?)
That's my list. Do you guys have one?
