FA's I think the Sharks should target

First I want to say this is my first fanpost here, (I post at AN). I have noticed that although there are a lot of fanposts about single FA's there is not a single post, (that I have seen) that show the top UFA's/FA's we think the Sharks should be targeting now. Here is a list of some of the FA's I think the Sharks should take a look at. I will link all players to CapGeek and will also use NHL's Free agent list. Please feel free to add names I might have missed or rip me for FA's you think are crap. Oh, and yes I did just bring up most of these names here.

Forwards

F Manny Malhotra (CLB) I would like to have this guy on our team. He is 29 and put up 11 G,24 A, 28 PIM in 77 Games, (I will stick with this format).

F Dominic Moore (BUF) Here's a guy who put up his best numbers last year. He is 29 and had 12, 29, 69 in 63.

F Michel Ouellet (VAN) This guy is younger at 27 and played last year in the AHL with the Moose of Manitoba. In 07/08 he had 17, 19, 12 in 64.

F Brett McLean (FLA) McLean had a down year but the previous two years averaged 35 points. Last year the 31 year old posted 7, 12, 29 in 80.

F Peter Schaefer (BOS) A lot of people, (including me) thought he would be the next offensive superstar for OTT a couple years ago. He is 32 and played in the AHL last year. He put up 9, 17, 18 in 63 in 07/08 for BOS.

F Eric Perrin (ATL) If we only could sign one more FA I would want it to be this guy. In 78 games he had 7, 16, 36 for the 33 year old last year. The previous two years he had 36 and 45 points respectively.

F Derek Armstrong (LAK) The oldest guy on this list at 36 had a disappointing season last year points wise. Hitting is another matter entirely, (I would love to see him and Cranksaft on the same shift). He posted 5, 4, 63 in 56 but has averaged 40 points the three years before.

Defense men, (a much shorter list)

D Martin Skoula (MIN) One of only three D'men I will list as sadly Alexei did not make the cut. Martin is 29 and had 4, 12 ,10 in 81.

D Marc-Andre Bergeron (MIN) The better MIN D'man who could take over for Ehrorr on the PP. The 28 year old posted 14, 18, 30 in 72.

D Dennis Seidenberg (CAR) I saved the best for last as Dennis is my favorite FA D'man. He is 28 and doubled his previous years point total with a line of 5, 25, 37 in 70.

In a perfect world we would move Cheech for Josh Harding and be able to sign 3 or 4 of these guys to fill out our roster. I would be happy if we signed 2 of them and ecstatic if we signed 3. My top five would be from first to fifth Seidenberg, Perrin, M A Bergeron, Armstrong and Ouellet. Let me know what you think.

Giambi on DL, Barton called up

Giambi on DL

Here is a link about Giambi from PA SportsTicker. It does not mention Barton being called up.

I saw on MLB TV that Jason Giambi went on the 15 day DL today. To replace him on the 25 man roster the A's called up Daric Barton. Let us hope that Barton is here today and in the line up at 1B. Here is to hoping Daric stays up longer than 15 days.

CarGon brought up by the Rockies

I just heard on MLB TV that the Rockies have brought up Carlos Gonzalez from the minors today. He is going to play tonight at St. Louis and will bat seventh in the line up. To make room for CarGon they sent down Matt Murton to the Sky Sox. Here is a what The Denver Post had to say today.

COLORADO SPRINGS — Rockies top prospect Carlos Gonzalez has been promoted to the big-league club from the Triple-A Sky Sox.

Gonzalez, a centerpiece of the Matt Holliday trade, will join the Rockies in St. Louis. Matt Murton was optioned to the minor leagues.

Gonzalez, 23, was leading the minor-leagues with 59 RBIs. The outfielder was also leading the Sky Sox in homers (10), triples (7), extra base hits (29) and slugging percentage (.630).

I hope all of the AN nation joins me in wishing CarGon all the sucess in the world.

Update: CarGon is not in the line up today as Seth Smith is hitting seventh in left field.
