Robert Prunty

This is an amortization of Robert Prunty. What he has done at Tech has been remarkable. Put simply, he is a recruiting genius. As we know, he was voted the recruiter of the year in the Big 12...

Small and Speedy

[Note by Seth C, 05/23/11 7:57 AM CDT ] Interesting thoughts as to how to measure the force of a player.  Good stuff.  Bumped to the front page. Tuberville has claimed on multiple occasions that he...

Baseball players are not educated

In Baseball, there seems to be an inverse correlation between the highest level of education and success of the baseball team.

Best/Worst Case of 2011

Here is something that will probably spark useless off-season debate that is fun for everybody!   Here is a schedule so you can easily copy and paste Sept. 3 - Texas State Sept. 10 - Open Sept....

Delvon Simmons is a Red Raider!!!!!!!

[Note by Seth C, 04/14/11 9:49 AM CDT ] Revised to give proper credit to Level with clickable link to his Twitter and the tweet.  Woot! As per Chris Level's Tweet. DT Delvon Simmons has committed...

Which true freshman will start?

[Note by Seth C, 04/06/11 11:31 AM CDT ] Bumped to the front page.  Thanks for taking the ball and running with it.  As Seth kindly pointed out in links this morning, Tuberville said that he will...

Derek David Arrested

Derek David was recently arrested for sexual assault of a girl. In the article, he admitted to police that he had sex with her, and she did not want to. The ER confirms trauma to the girl. He is...

My thoughts on the 2nd Scrimmage

[Note by Seth C, 03/06/11 10:31 AM CST ]  Promoted to the front page.  Awesome work. So I made it out for most of the 2nd scrimmage yesterday. Here are my thoughts on the team. 1: Sam Fehoko might...

Kirby Hocutt, and what this says about Texas Tech

I am a huge fan of the Kirby Hocutt hire. First, he is a native Texan, which is well established. He is very excited about coming back close to home. I believe this means he'll be here for the long...

I Am Optimistic

Perhaps you might call me naive, or overly optimistic. Yes it was a disheartening loss. The offense sputtered out of control, like a balloon that was stabbed with a needle, spazzing out and then...

Former Auburn Defensive End to visit Tech

Since I'm too cheap/poor to subscribe to recruiting services, I usually do a little investigative work to try and figure out all I can from free headers. On our Rivals frontpage it shows Navarro...

Favorite Mike Leach Quotes

Because Mike Leach is probably the best quote machine in the history of college football (if not for Yogi Berra and Joe Biden, I'd have said all of modern history). So go on and dish out your...

Former Red Raider dazzles in MLB Debut!

Josh Tomlin, drafted 06 out of Lubbock, allowed 3 hits, 1 ER (A-Roid 0-4) over 7 innings against the Yankees too out duel C.C. Sabathia and get a win in his first MLB start! Congrats!

All Americn D-II Safety Transfers to Tech

Giorgio Durham, at 6-0, 190, has decided to transfer to tech, thanks to Tramain Swindall. I'm unsure if he has a scholarship, or if he plans to walk on and earn a scholarship, but here is some video. my (uneducated) thoughts on the video is he hits hard, and has a knack for the ball, but is a little slow, which is probably why he was D-II in the first place.

High 4-Star 2011 OLB/DE lists Tech as Number 1

Ok, so before I continue, this is all assumption from a portmanteau of information collected from free headlines and pictures, all information clearly available to the general public. I have no...

DMN Predicts Tech goes 10-2

Mike Graham predicts an early win over Texas and everyone else, until losing close at College Station and getting destroyed in Norman...

Another 2012 Commit!? Derek David's Brother?!

Rivals is reporting another 2012 commit for the Red Raiders....and where does this link appear? On the page of none other than Logan David, Derek David's brother! This would be a huge commitment in helping to solidify Derek's commitment. Though we all know, brother's aren't a guarantee of commitment.

Why I'm excited about the Big 12 - 2!

First off, I'd like to formally announce that Texas are a bunch of bleach blonde, drive daddy's porsche to school, tea sipping, arrogant, but talented bullies. Or as I like to call them, d-bags...

RECRUIT UPDATE: Welcome Alfredo Morales!

Rivals has confirmed that Alfredo Morales, twin of 4 star, tech recruit Tony Morales has given Tech a solid verbal commitment. Alfredo is rated 3 stars by rivals and scouts, ranked 17th nationally and 42nd nationally as an offensive guard by each service respectively. Otherwise a solid to high ranking 3 star recruit, who is a perhaps a little slow for his weight, (5.25, 40 at 290) but that is something our strength coach is a pro at, so this could be a good pick up.

How about a break from realignment chatter, and talk about how awesome Tech is?

Basically, Tech's Biochemistry/Chemistry department chair, along with an assistant professor at Baylor (meaning our guy is the lead on the research) have developed a patent that you can add into existing antibiotics that make the usable against diseases currently resistant to that antibiotic, which in case you're wondering, is freakin' huge. It is entering into Pre-Clinical trials shortly, and if it goes well, within 2 years Tech will be making some big, important headlines about this.

Nebraska Regents "informally" decide to leave the Big 12

The 3 latest tweets from Chris Brown # # One of the reasons B12 South schools think league can't survive w/o Neb is how bad relationship with Mizzou has deteriorated. 11 minutes ago via TweetDeck # Several officials in the Big 12 South have said if Nebraska leaves the conference, the Big 12 is dead. 33 minutes ago via TweetDeck # Nebraska regents have informally agreed to leave for the Big Ten. A formal announcement will come Friday. 34 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Texas Tech, British Petroleum and Conference Realignment

I think this is incredibly interesting, especially in relation to what was in the DD this morning. Essentially, this article talks about one Dr. Seshadri Ramkuma, Texas Tech professor, who has discovered a breakthrough material, using west texas cotton, that absorbs both types of oil better than materials out there, and the carcinogenic fumes associated with it, and how this kind of hugely public research breakthrough should shut up people questioning Tech's academic credentials.

More Expansion Hypothesizing?

Lets do a little hypothesizing. Lets say the Big 10 expands to 14 teams and takes Nebraska, Missouri and Pittsburgh. In all likelihood the Big 12 would do the smart thing and take schools like...

4 Star OLine to Visit Tech

Matt Hegarty is taking an unofficial visit this weekend. The kid would be a good grab for Tech.

New York Times/Tuberville

Its not anything we don't already know, but its positive press in the NYT, which is always beneficial

Texas Tech, Alabama reach agreement...?

Apparently ESPN is reporting the DMN's original story on their front page. Do you think ESPN is pressuring 'bama to get the game they want, or do they perhaps have better information?
