Coach VDN and I coached a great game. #proudwintweet
And some stuff to get you hyped for Clippers 2012-13!
"When you're trying to compare and get better — and we want to try and win the Western Conference and have a chance to play for the whole thing — you compare yourself to the Western Conference champ, and that's not the Lakers." --- Chauncey "Mr. Big Shot" Billups
"I wish the Lakers nothing but luck. I still have friends over there. When we’re on the court, they’re the enemy now." --- Matt Barnes
"I think we can be very good. I think we can contend in the West and for a championship."... "It's great [for the Lakers when they acquired Dwight Howard], but just like people said when we got 'CP,' they've still got to play — just like we did. It's a great acquisition for them. That makes them even tougher. But I think we got tougher as well." --- Blake Griffin
"I cannot wait to play the game with my improved team. I. Can. Not. Wait." --- Chris Paul
Shaq: "I’m going on the record right now, best center in the West right now, DeAndre Jordan. Best center in the West."
Magic: "I thought I would never, ever see Showtime again. And I was the architect of Showtime. The Clippers? That's showtime."
Vinny Del Negro, back in his playing days with the Spurs. This card made me laugh. Hat tip to Sean Highkin.

So, yeah. Crawford is playing. Also, by the sound of it ("more players to be announced soon"), perhaps more Clippers come along with Jamal.
Anyone? Also, I should note that he's a center that last year in his rookie 2011-12 season, he averaged 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 37 games (four starts) with New York.
Under the "double dribbles" section: Amico of Fox Sports Ohio rumors that the T-Wolves are looking to trade for a center, and that Chris Andersen (AKA Birdman) is getting interest around the league after being amnestied, reportedly being offered deals in the $1.2 to $5 million range.
This is from something called "social cam". Highlight is when interviewer asked if CP3 had any thoughts/regrets on veto to Lakers last year, and Chris Paul answered halfway through the question with a determined "not at all", followed by his excitement to come back to LA and work with the team.
Good read. Also, there is a second page, so click the page 2 button, y'all.
Besides the report, I just wanted to put this out there: Lakers can only give out vet. min. deals. But the Clippers have his bird rights, so they can do a S&T with the Lakers. If he ends up with the Lakers in an S&T: do you guys want a trade exception or a player?

Spoke to a source in Orlando, who says that the Magic feel that trading Dwight Howard now would be shortsighted. "All the teams in it now will be in it later. Waiting could allow another team or two to talk themselves into pursuing Howard. His value is his value and will not be diminished if traded right before or during the season." Impression I get from Magic source is that Howard not likely going to be dealt right now. Media is putting a timer on this. Orlando GM Rob Hennigan will not settle in any Howard trade. Waiting could buy the Clippers time to considering pursuing Dwight. Magic are said to be very high on potential packages from LA.

Comment of the day: I think someone must have stolen DTS checkbook. He is probably calling the bank right now to cancel the check screaming "I do not even know a Willie Green!" Woooooooooo! ...
Excellent Trade. Add this to the list for the three-headed-monster of the Clippers' front office. UPDATE: Eric Pincus of Hoopsworld breaks the trade down, with some new details on a possible contract for Green, and what trade exception may be sent to Atlanta.
Here is the schedule. Made these predictions while I was on vacation last week, on the paper schedule I printed from the hotel printer. Now I'm back, and decided to post this. Also, note that this...
Men's Basketball Olympics Open Thread: USA vs. France. On the France bench, Ronny Turiaf assumes the role as sixth man. As a recently acquired Clipper, he and Chris Paul look to represent the Clipper Nation at today's game. Turiaf has been teammates

This article was written a couple of days ago, but its still relevant. Not sure if this has been posted yet, though.
"There’s not been one that was our first choice who we haven’t gotten," Del Negro said. "That’s been great. …We’ve worked as a team on all of this. A lot of energy has gone into this. A lot of planning and a lot of execution have gone into this.
