What would be your path to a Championship?
Over a few Stone Ruinations and Bell's Two-Hearteds last night, I thought of a completely unrealistic albeit interesting situation. I asked myself, if I had the choice of which teams the Jaguars would face and defeat in the playoffs and Super Bowl, which would they be?
Now, you have the choice between 16 teams. You have the other 15 AFC teams to face in the Wild Card, Divisional and Conference rounds and 1 NFC team to face in the Super Bowl. You don't have to make a whole bracket, but you can. You don't have to provide scores, stats, and individual accolades, but you can. You don't have to write a story about each game, but you can, if you want to.
Please keep in mind that this is strictly hypothetical. I'm not predicting anything of the sort will happen. You can do it any way you want. You can pick teams that would be funny to see the Jaguars matched up against, completely unrealistic teams, or simply, teams that you dislike. This is for fun. So the question is, what would be your dream path to a Jaguars championship.
Here's Mine:
1) Wild Card Round: Indianapolis Colts at home. Score - 30 to 14.
2) Divisional Round: New England Patriots at home. Score - 23 to 20.
3) Conference Championship: Denver Broncos at Denver. Score - 28 to 10.
4) THE SUPER BOWL: Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau. Score - 27 to 30.
SportsFans.org "Jacksonville is the home of the blackout"
This is the description of What They Do:
Sports Fans Coalition fights to make sure that fans have access to games both on television and in the stadium. Because fans have spent billions and billions of dollars financing sports stadiums, they deserve to see their local teams play. So we fight against all media blackouts and for affordable seating in public stadiums. In addition, we fight for a college playoff because of the corruption that exists in the BCS bowl system and the unfair way that revenues are distributed to our schools. Finally, we fight against work stoppages, such as the NBA lockout. Fans have spent billions on stadiums – the least owners and players can do is play ball.

What do you guys think of this? This really pissed me off:
"Jacksonville is the home of the blackout, outperforming every other NFL host city in 2009. The problem is so dire that the team holds a celebration when it is able to actually ‘sell out’ its stadium when the Super Bowl-bound Indianapolis Colts come to town. Are you serious? A party when you barely make the cut?"
Robiskie's Chances of Having An Impact?
Obviously this is not quantifiable, but for conversation's sake, do any of you think Robiskie will have a positive affect on the WR corps/offense? It seems he didn't get much done in Cleveland, although their QB situation has been in flux for a while up until this year.
The kid is young (24) and it would be nice to see him get a little rhythm with Gabbert. He has some nice size and seems to be a heady player. It will obviously take time for him to build a "playing relationship" with Gabbert and to get a handle on the playbook.
What were his negatives in Cleveland? Judging by the TU article from today, it seems he was not very good at getting separation, which is the exact same problem our current corps is experiencing.
I hope we can see something/anything good from him, but at this point, I think our best bet, regarding receivers, will be a mix of draft and FA guys, and a complete retooling of our WR's.
Anyway, how do yall think this will play out. Interested to see the differing opinions.
BCC Mock Draft: With the 27th Pick in the Draft...
The Indianapolis Colts select Evander Hood, Defensive Tackle for Missouri. Although the Colts and Bill Polian love to surround Peyton with ever-fresh talent, Polian knows that there is a dire need to fill he gaping hole at Defensive Tackle. With many of the top rated wide receivers and defensive tackles off the board, the Colts pull the trigger on Evander Hood, in hopes that he may be the weight that tips the scales regarding their lackluster rush defense. Hood weighs in at 298 lbs and is 6"3. Not only is Hood a good run-stuffer, but he fits into the Colts defensive system in that he is explosive, and quick off the line. He ran a 4.97 40 at the combine, but is known to have run around 4.7 as of late. He locates the ball carrier well, and although his specialization and technique could use some fine tuning, the Colts will be glad to see Hood as their first round pick.
