The Steelers and the outdoors, are two of my favorite interests.
Enjoy humor, and wordplay.
My sarcasm should be taken comically, not as mean-spirited.

Hines Ward's Snap Count
How many snaps did Hines get against San Francisco? Only 9. What you may not have known, is that Jerricho Cotchery was in for 54 snaps.

Interesting tweet from Wexell
@ErikDiana2 "Kemoeatu gone after the season?" -- I would assume so. 800k x 2 in dead bonus money vs. 3.6m and 4.2M final 2 yrs salary.
Isaac Redman to wed?
When momma bear attacked the 24-year-old, Haas "got big," which is the counter-intuitive protocol for dealing with an aggressive black bear. Since that wasn’t enough to stop the bear’s charge, Haas was forced to punch the wild beast in the head, and then beat it with a rock.
Miraculously, Haas ended up pacifying the bear, and escaped with only flesh wounds. Watch her talk about her ordeal below.

Young CBs have good day
Got to love an optimistic title for:
Among the corners out were Keenan Lewis (heat), Cortez Allen (hamstring), Bryant McFadden (hamstring), Crezdon Butler (knee) and the two re-signed free agents who cannot practice until Thursday, Ike Taylor and William Gay.

Dang the lockout! We can see the Steelers bowl, play golf, and softball!!!
Today we'll play against Russ Grimm's son
As for the offense concentrating on Tampa Bay rookie starting free safety Cody Grimm, the son of former Steelers assistant and Hall of Fame offensive lineman Russ Grimm, Randle-El said, "We don't know if we'll attack him, but he'll get his work."

Training Camp - Wednesday 8/11
I think Al Everest got the biggest share of time today in the afternoon practice, and used most of it on fundamentals for his kickoff return unit. I say fundamentals, because the coverage unit did not seem to get much work in today.
There wasn't much hitting today, and there were no live drills.
Coach Tomlin did do an interview after practice that can be seen at: http://www.steelers.com/video-and-audio/videos/Mike-Tomlin---Training-Camp---August-11th/cece3466-1005-4a97-9bcb-ff46010d6bbe#?id=cece3466-1005-4a97-9bcb-ff46010d6bbe
Much more after the jump.

Steelers Training Camp Info
The schedule has been set. The first practice open to the public is July 31, and the last one is August 18.
I've never been to the Steelers training camp, and would like to change that this year. Our BTSC brethren have suggested meeting at camp this year, and it sounds like a great idea!
I have no doubt that someone who contributes to BTSC, will be in attendance for every practice. This may be a good time to get some BTSC T-shirts printed. I'm in for a couple.
I was thinking of going to camp for one week, thought the last week would be best. Some of the positional battles would be coming to an end, and besides the obvious starters, whoever was on the second and third team for the final week of camp, would be a closer indicator to the actual roster we'll start the season with. But after seeing that the last week of camp only has three days of practice, the week from August 8th - 14th, which has five practices, seems like the best option What do you think?
Camp veterans, please share your do's and don't's. I'll be coming from out of town, and have never been to Pittsburgh before. I remember someone here last year, saying typing that the "Steelers Experience" was a "must do" thing at camp though.
For convenience, I'll paste the Steelers training camp info from the word.doc at http://www.steelers.com/news/article-1/Steelers-2010-Training-Camp-Information/094c3382-b714-47a7-a1c7-74a7c5897867 after the jump.
NASCAR Regressing
The Daytona 500 was a huge disappointment this year. Can we get one member from each pit crew to help repair the track next time? How can they take that long to make a repair that lasts…I don't know, how many laps did it last?
This is NASCAR’s premier race, just coming out of the off-season, how long did they have to prepare the 2.5 mile track for this race?
Daytona 500, caution. NASCAR: We’’ll go for the green white checker.
Daytona 507.5, caution. NASCAR: That’s ok, we’ll just redo the green white checker.
Daytona 515, caution. NASCAR: Hire a backup flag waving person...
This is ridiculous.
I think we need a different approach to all these cautions at the “end” of a race. Point subtractions for teams that bring out the yellow in the last 20 laps? What do you think? Do you have a better idea?
Please discuss.
