Pat Knight...Yea or Nah
I'm sitting here on my patio and wondering if anyone feels the same way about Pat Knight as I do. I don't have it in me to raise a flag for another university but I'm rooting for Pat Knight tonight. The dude seemed like a standup guy and what looked to me like he really cared for Texas Tech Basketball. I don't at all think he was ready to be a head coach in the Big 12 but it looked to me like he tried his best. It's the same feeling I have towards WSU, I'm not really "raising a flag" for WSU, I just want Leach to dominate the PAC 12. Just some midday wednesday musing.
passive mindset
"We've just gotta have something positive happen to us," coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It looks like everything's gone against us, but as I told the players, we've got to make something happen, so that's pretty much how we're handling it going into these two games."
That type of passive, woe is me crap makes me want to vomit. Can we get a more aggressive, assertive type of answer please. If one of my reps gave me the excuses we hear I'd can his/her ass in a heartbeat.
also if someone has the halftime sideline interview that tuberville gave on saturday will they please post it so we can all vomit and wollow in his self pity?

Ticket Posting for the SMU GAME
I think the rules last year were to sell your tickets at face value. I can't remember how DTN wanted to handle this last year. Anyway make you fellow DTNer a good deal.
I have 3 tickets to the smu game section 117, Row 31 seats 13, 14, 15....face value is $31. make me an offer.
214-226-7790 text me, call me whatever. I live in Frisco and will either mail them to you or meet you around North Dallas.
PROMINENCE? someone explain please
"Nebraska is exiting much like it entered the Big 12. Back in '96, the Huskers were projected as one of the best teams in the country and the favorite to win the conference championship. And although there were some trying seasons under Frank Solich and Bill Callahan earlier this century, the Huskers have returned to prominence and want to show they're back among the elite. "
If someone will please tell me how beating florida atlantic, ark state, ULaLa, Baylor and Kstate gets you back to prominence i'd certainly appreciate it! They beat one top 25 team all last year and they're somehow prominent! I just don't get it. The surest bet in the football world this year is for the total wins of NU to be under 9.5. I don't dislike NU at all, i just don't get everyone's reasoning.

Why are people pissed at Hance
I know I am in the minority when I say that I am not angry with Chancellor Hance but I don't see that he had any other choice than to allow the firing of Coach. I am as disappointed as anyone that we lost our football coach who very much so personified our school ( a bit out in left field, unconventional but very successful nonetheless) and has all made us incredibly proud of our school.
I know Leach's pros out way his cons by a long shot but when you SUE your employer and thumb your nose at your bosses don't you think the CEO (Hance) has no other choice but to find someone else for the job. I know if one of my employees sued my company it would have taken me less than 30 seconds to fire him even if he was my highest producing rep. No one person is bigger than the school and that goes for Myers and Bailey too.
Just saying
1st Interception (quieted)
I might be wrong here but the first interception that Sheffield threw that was thrown towards Adam James, did anyone notice how quiet Craig James got. He knew his son was at fault not making a play on that ball, that might be the worst "ups" I have ever seen from a receiver at Tech. That was a huge momentum stopper and if I were Craig I would have shut up too.
Oh and can we please stop mentioning that he's Craig's son. We get it!

if you have a chance to read this, it's the transcript of the press conference of MIke Singletary. He absolutely has Crabtree's back and is going to be a tremendous role model for his team. Very impressive man
and now i need at least at least at least 12 more words for this to post.
I'm not ready to move on
I'm not ready to move on to the next game yet. I'm still pissed at the fact that at the end of the first half our f'n kicker kicked the ball out of bounds and allowed Houston to get in field goal range for 3 extra points. And I'm still pissed that we have a coach who has taken a step back in his coaching philosophy where he won't take guaranteed points and I'm still pissed that we have a coach who still hasn't figured out that to finish off a game you run the f'n ball with 5 minutes remaining when you have averaged about 6 yards per carry all game. Ya'll move on to stinkin new mexico....I'm going to be pissed until we beat Kansas. I've got a month of misery
Why there are no live streaming games
This is an email exchange answering the question. How great is it that he answered my email in less than 20 minutes.... Obviously if you want to read the whole thing start the conversation from the bottom
Ryan -- Here's the conference answer: Cannot conflict or bleed in to any exclusive TV windows. Basically cannot go up against any TV games from the conference package. Again, Iowa State has one that begins after a conference package has begun, so that may be an exception. I hope this helps. Ryan -- You hit the nail on the head. Rights have everything to do with it. The Big 12 television contract does not allow for independent airing of games, especially when up against another Big 12 game that has been selected as part of the conference package. I will work on a more definitive answer today. I noticed this morning that Iowa State has a non-conference game on a regional network that butts against an FSN Big 12 game. I'm not sure how they were able to do this, but will find out for you.

Mr. Cook
I wanted to ask the likelihood of there being live streamed games
available this year for football. I am a season ticket holder but I
live in the Dallas area and cannot make it to Lubbock for each game,
just out of curiosity why are there no games available for us to watch
as of now? I'm sure it has something to do with "rights" but with
the amount of alumni willing to pay for online games as far away from
Lubbock as we are......I was just wondering
Thank you
MIKE LEACH TO THE CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!
According to multiple sources the Arizona Cardinals have signed long snapper Mike Leach (no not the Texas Tech head football coach), formerly of the Denver Broncos. Leach had been with the Broncos for the past 6 1/2 seasons but requested his release after they signed a new snapper this off season. It being reported as a 3 year deal but terms haven't been disclosed yet.
Just wanted to give you guys a quick scare.
Leach is staying
I just got a call and he is staying, they agreed to a 5 year deal and there will be a press conference at 6:00.
Thank goodness this misery is over. I can now go through my week without this continuation of tired head.
Lets move the HELL ON
The FanPost is telling me that I have to have 75 words to post so I am just rambling now. You can stop reading if you want to. I just wanted to let everyone know.
Re-ranking the 2006 class
kind of cool on Si.com Tech makes the top 10
10. Texas Tech
2006 Rivals Rank: No. 25
2008 Record: 11-2
Record since 2006: 28-11
Conference titles: Zero
2008 Starters: WR Michael Crabtree, LB Brian Duncan, DT Ra'jon Henley, WR Lyle Leong, DEBrandon Williams, LB Marlon Williams.
Analysis: Red Raiders coach Mike Leach got a big assist from hoops coaches Bob and Pat Knight, who helped bring Crabtree to Lubbock. Crabtree came to college expecting to play football and basketball. He quickly learned the brighter future lay on the gridiron, though, and matured into college football's best receiver.

Just watched the senior bowl
I just watched the senior bowl and with the miserable commentators, miserable sideline reporting, no blitzing and terrible route running that game is just about unwatchable. Anyway I, like y'all tuned in to see how our boy Graham would do. I thought he'd be a little better and I am really not worried about his arm strength like those absolute horrible commentators were saying, but what I am worried about is where he puts the ball. With those little in routes and out routes that Leach runs that are just designed to get 5-7 yards that the quarterback are supposed to put at the receivers right knee or left hip etc where the receiver just catches it and falls down or slides to catch it, (which Graham was unreal at by the way). I think that will be his weak spot, he can learn to throw from under center, he just needs to get into the habit of throwing to shoulders and face masks. Does that make sense or am I just crazy with thinking Leach had Graham throw to receivers where no one else but the receivers could catch the ball?
