"Calgary has serious interest in David Booth I am told. There is a proposal, but the Panthers will need more than I am hearing."

Take note, this does come from Eklund. Is there anything we'd even want from Calgary, ya know, besides JayBo back? How does this guy get paid for this stuff legally, and why am I not doing the same thing!?

It appears the wait is over.

David Booth, out since Oct. 24 with a concussion, is expected to play Sunday against the Islanders.

Litter Box Cats Horton out 4-6 Weeks

Yet another self-inflicted injury for our beloved Panthers. This time, Nathan Horton is out 4-6 weeks with a fractured tibia, says OnFrozenPond. What is it about this team that just when you think things might be turning around, there's another smack-in-the-face? When do we start talking about the Curse of the Rat? Will we see Victor Oreskovich shortly returning back to Sunrise or was this known when the odd decision was made to send him back to Rochester?

The team has battled through most of its injuries thus far, but to be without now both Booth and Horton and asking this team for a trip to the playoffs is asking a heck of a lot. Who will replace Horton's numbers that he's putting up in what might be the best year he's played in the NHL? Besides Frolik and Weiss, there is no one to be expected to do that, and even those two guys can't make up the 20 or so more points we expected from Nate during the next month.

Most importantly, what does this to do our Trade Deadline plans? and what about Booth's recovery plans? Does the team call it off and extend our streak of futility? Do they try to salvage what they can and push for another late season run? After all, there is no way that right now they think they can't squeeze into the Top 8.

The life of a Panthers fan....

According to our friends at the Sun-Sentinel, Booth will be travelling on the next roadie and we are expecting Stiller back for the first game after Xmas (12/27 v Bos).

What happens to the kids when they return? Which stay? Which return to Rochester to bring them back to 1st place?
