Dear Ronnie
I never really do these things, I actually prefer reading others goodbye notes. But as a die hard Miami Dolphin fan, as most of you are, I for one am very sad to watch this happen. He is a workhorse and is a staple of our team, not just our offense. He is the reason we convert on 3rd downs. If we need a play from one yard out to beat our most hated rivals at home on a monday night, who else gets the nod so confidently. I always have loved Ricky, I hated that he left us, but the man came back and ran hard. He also was the reason we drafted #23. We had no back, thanks to Ricky and wanted to get back to run first sceme. This situation brought us the wildcat, something that the Dolphins can use and prove its not a gimmick. Although I digress, this situation made us the running powerhouse we were, Ricky can do some things, I don't doubt that, but Ronnie, were gonna miss you man.
ps. Rex Ryan is in fact, a cry baby.

DRAFT 2010....
I know its very early...but we must do whatever we have to, to draft Dez Bryant. Although a perfect candidate for a bust, if the kid turns out to be a freak, a young connection between him and Henne could have us playing in Superbowls in years to come. Weve got a good young D. Excellent coaching. The best running game outside of Minnesota (arguable). If Henne can be what hes hyping us all to be.... then what more would we need than Dez Bryant. On a side note, our draft from 09 is starting to look amazing. We have some young studs at corner, reminds me of 23 and 29.

Orange Jersey
I saw the same thing you guys all did. ESPN pitted us at 2-0 before the Jet game when we wear the Orange Jersey. I remember the win over Washington a few years back, and of course the win over the Patriots. But 4 years or so ago did we not play the Eagles on Monday night wearing the orange and lose? I know this is pointless, and yes I am absolutly thrilled (not even the right word to describe how i feel right now about our dolphins) but if anyone can refute or support my claim, i would be even happier.

There is no such thing as a Moral Victory
Come on you guys. We are the AFC East champions. We are not supposed to be happy with this game last night. I am reading too many posts that we should "not point any fingers" and "our defense played well". First of all, there are very few players I would say played well. Our running game was superb, and just like every analysis on ESPN, we played as well as we could have on offense. But, how many times were we trying for 40 yarders. With those long sustained drives, we need to put the ball in the endzone. You can not beat good teams kicking field goals. Our defense was awful. The only reason it may have not seemed that way to the naked eye, was that we were pretty much never on defense. And when we were, we either forced a 3 and out, which every team in the NFL does every week, or we were giving up long plays for touchdowns. BUT Sean Smith is the next Pat Surtain, ill just throw that out right now, he was great, anyone see Reggie Wayne last night? I didnt. Back to my rant, my one last thing that bothers me, is that I was watching the game with my Jet friend (yes i have one, and yes it sucks) and during the last drive he kept telling me how good he thought Ted Ginn was. All the while I was explaning to him how hes good for the 10 yard out but just can't make the big play. Well, I know you all watched the game, so I don't have to spoil the ending, but really? Your a professional wide receiver and Chad Pennington delivered a pass that no one thought he could....CATCH THE DAMN BALL. By the way, I am not a CP3 fan, I hated him as a Jet, so its still hard for me to watch him in our uniform, but I thought he played exactly the way we needed him to, to win. And one last thing, sorry. Have we never practiced a 2 min drill before? What was that? 2 run plays to kill the clock til the 2 min warning. Then we try to move the ball? Who called the Pennington dive on 3rd and 2? call a play for bess to catch one on the sideline...preserve more time, and if its incomplete, then do a pennington dive for sure yards. Hope you enjoyed my Rome is Burning minute.

Steal of the Draft
Pat White... he could not have fallen into a better situation. and neither could the Dolphins. Pat White is the absolute perfect player to be in our Wildcat formation. This offseason I have been screaming for Mike Vick. Sure Pat might not be as fast, or have as strong of an arm, but he is quick and a smarter on field player than Vick. Too add to our "trickaration" in the backfield, we not only have added more speed, but an arm too.
To put it bluntly, there is nothing we won't be able to do out of our Wildcat formation next year. Just have too many weapons.
I don't necessarily agree with our later round picks, big but slow recievers, but besdies that, we have turned our offense from disaster from a few years back, to something many fans will want to watch week in week out.

No more feel good story...
Before our Jet win i posted an article that pretty much got bad reviews from everyone including Matty I. I touched on points that we should reflect a year ago how bad we were and what a turn around it would be regardless of the result of the game in the Meadowlands.
Although i understand why people had such a problem with the article, playoffs in our sights, it was no time to reflect, but in my opinion it was the perfect time. Because now, were in the playoffs and no one wants to hear about a feel good story anymore.
Were in the playoffs, ok great. Throw out all the records, every team in the postseason now is 0-0. Forget the turnaround from last year. Who cares. Ill tell you one thing, the Baltimore Ravens sure as hell do not care about our story. All they want to do it come into Miami and shut us up. Just as much as we want to dispell the rumor a rookie QB can come in here and win a playoff game.
So i yell out to all of you, forget our story, its not important anymore, we won 11 games, made the playoffs and won the division, now lets prove we are as good as we think we are and win this game. We paid the Ravens back this regular season for letting us beat them last year (why they didnt go for it down 3 on our 1 on 4th and goal when they had nothing to play for will never make sense to me... Thanks Billick) but now its time to prove we can even beat this great Defense.

Mangini ousted as Jets coach
Eric Mangini is out as head coach of the New York Jets after the team lost four of its last five games to finish out of the playoffs.
Mangini
The clincher was the Jets' 24-17 loss to Miami on Sunday that gave the Dolphins the AFC East title.
"We don't take this decision lightly," Jets owner woody johnson said at a Monday morning news conference. "We respect Eric for what he's done but we want to build on the successful foundation he has laid."
Mangini, 37, was 23-26 in three seasons with the Jets, including 0-1 in the playoffs.
"We've made the decision to move on," Johnson said.
The Jets acquired Brett Favre before the season started and ran off to an 8-3 start. But losses to Denver, at San Francisco, at Seattle and Sunday to the Dolphins left New York on the outside of the playoffs for the second straight season.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I see Farve retiring in the near future.
That win yesterday not only propelled us to the playoffs and a division title, but might also set the Jets back a few years. Good news on all accounts.

Making History
With all the commotion surrounding our next game against the hated New York J-E-T-S and the possible playoff birth and a division titile, lets all pause for a moment and remember that the Miami Dolphins this time last year were 1-14 and the laughing stock of the NFL.
Now, a year later the Miami Football Dolphins have proved their resilance and made history. No team that finished a season with only one win has ever finished the next season with double digit wins.
While i know all of you have enjoyed the recent coverage of our possible playoff run (excluding Trent Dilfer's comments on ESPN, which by the way, what does he know) I really want all of you to take a step back, or if your reading this from your computer chair, lean back, and reflect on how you felt about your Miami Dolphins a year to date ago.
Life's good now as a Miami Dolphin fan, and while we should not take this feeling for granted, we should look foward to more years like this to come. We have a solid team and what appears to be a great coach in the making. While I do not need to provide a list of people we should thank, thanks to a previous post, some honorable mentions should be:
Wayne H. for hiring Bill P. and letting him do his thing which includes hiring Sparano and bulding a TEAM that doent turn the ball over and plays stingy D. If you watch the NFL, you know that a great team in the NFL has a great running game, plays great D and holds onto the ball, see Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Carolina, New York (Giants). The exception is of course the Pats.
The Dolphins have always had the potential, and now with a good coach (Wanny, Saban, Cameron dont quite qualify for that honor) we can look foward to this week with actual confidence that we can actually go into New York in late December and come out with a win. LETS GO DOLPHINS, make us all true believers again!
