What's the latest on Fernando Perez?
I was just curious on what the latest was on Fernando Perez. I have seen him working out with the team before games and it appears as if his cast has come off but I have not been able to find anything. I know he had ligament damage and could miss the season but I was wondering if anyone knows how his rehab has been going and if he can come back soon, or if that is even possible.
Rays Celebration Video
I love this clip, it starts off with the on-field celebration then the locker room scene afterwards.
My favorite part is when EJax waits to see if the guy is okay before dousing him with beer.
I feel Gomes' only purpose is to coordinate the locker room celebrations as he passes around a bottle of Patron and has a great dance towards the end.
We got one celebration left to go boys! Go Rays!

Greatest Ray In Franchise History
The link to Baseball Tonight's greatest player in franchise history segment they just started. The Rays choices are C.C., Roberto Hernandez, Aubrey Huff, Fred McGriff and Kazmir.
My vote is for Kazmir, the franchise leader in wins and k's. Whats say you?
What a season!
What's up Rays fans. This is my first fan post and I feel like tonight was a good night for it as this sweep has got me feeling real good. I want to start out by saying that I love this site, it's good to see that there are real Rays fans all over and the guys who run this site are always on top of what's going on. I usually check this site first for new Rays info before going to their website or the beat writer blogs.
Next I just want to throw out some random observations and thoughts:
First, how come when we sweep a team, all the other teams talk about how they are in a slump and they had bad nights when really they just ran into great pitching and defense?
It's going to be good to finally play some below average teams now, hopefully the Rays can do what good teams do and handle these lesser teams.
I know its far away but I was looking at the schedule and man do we have a tough September cut out for us. We play the Yankees and Red Sox 12 times, the Twins 4 times and Detroit away. Not to mention playing 18 games in the final 17 days.
Papa Joe needs to have a talk with B.J. and get this kid to hustle more in the outfield. I know he made a great catch tonight but he also let J.D. Drew stretch a double into a triple. This isn't the first time something like that has happened either.
Finally should the Rays make the postseason and go deep, I think I would be the happiest person because I am a Tampa native and attend the U of Tampa which unfortunately is heavily New Yorkers and New Englanders. I endured the Sweet Caroline sing-a-longs deep into the night last October, I would love to be able to keep those kids up this October!
All in all it's been a tremendous season so far and the by far the most fun in my 7 years as a fan and I hope it's only the beginning!
GO RAYS!
