Texas DE offer?
So I just got a text from one of my old buddies reporting to me that Duane Akina is at my old high school (Dallas Jesuit) and he just offered a DE named Chucka Ndulue. I don't know a whole lot about the kid or anything being 5 years removed from high school but the only info that I got was that he is a rising senior and barely even speaks english.
Unfortunately all of this info is coming from a friend who has a tendency to stretch the truth but I don't see him fabricating the offer. Anyone (GoBR) know anything about this or the kid?

Trovon Reed/Seastrunk a package deal?
So I was reading on a recruiting service that these 2 players are determined to end up playing college ball together. From what I understand Reed is going to be at Texas' first junior days and will be offered a scholarship so it doesn't sound as if this will be any sort of an obstacle for Texas to overcome if these 2 decide that Texas is the school that they want to attend and play football at.
My question, however, is what all of you BONers out there think about this concept in general.... (In this instance it seems these 2 are players who stand strongly on their own without needing the other to garner a scholarship offer) But what if it involves an all-everything player and his buddy who doesn't deserve a spot on the university of Texas roster? Do you throw in an offer for his buddy as well to try and land the big fish or tell the kid there's no room for his pal?
...Already looking forward to the 2010 class taking shape in the coming week(s)

Miami in 2000
This whole situation reminds me a bit of Miami in 2000 when they beat FSU head to head and then had to watch an underserving FSU go to the national championship game and lose (to who else but OU) Miami was probably the best team in football that year and they got stuck going to (i think) the sugar bowl.
However, it wasn't all bad because they took that disrespect and turned it around to be one of the best teams of this century the next year en route to winning a national championship.
Maybe this slight will leave a bad taste in Colt's mouth and be enough to bring him back next year to lead a powerhouse, pissed off UT team

Defensive Backfield
Would anyone have believed me at the onset of the season that the biggest liability in the defensive backfield was going to be Deon Beasley? I can't believe how uninspiring his play is on a weekly basis - and I thought he was going to be hands down the best corner we had. Obviously there must be something goin on in practice that I don't get to see where he shows that he deserves to be on the field but honestly from what I see during the games I'm about ready to send him to the bench in favor of A. Williams.
Speaking of Aarron did last night's near block mark the 3rd or 4th time this year where he has not-quite-blocked-a-punt? somebody needs to show him how to put a palm on the ball.
Lastly, was the Colt's sister or girl next to his parents last night? If it was his sister - well done mr. and mrs. McCoy. And if it's his girl - atta boy colt

injury updates?
Well, for now I figure no news is good news but I was just curious if anyone had any info regarding the health of Norton. Also, I was at the game so I may have missed something said during the broadcast but it looked like Chykie Brown sat out just about the entire 2nd half - anything going on there? Thanks!
Unrelated BUT, someone at the game was claiming that Jared is Ken Norton Jr.'s son. Any truth to this? I can't find anything that suggests that they are related.

Ranking CB's
and by CB's of course I mean corner backs ( which by chance includes the CBs, Chykie and Curtis Brown.)
So anyways, here is my questions to you all: If you think you could crawl inside of muschamp and Akina's heads how do you think the cornerbacks would rank? It's tough to always tell when watching on TV which guys are getting the most run but from what I can tell it seems as though A. Williams may have passed by Curtis Brown.
My guess:
Palmer, Ch. Brown, Beasley, A. Williams, then Cu. Brown... thoughts?

Earl Thomas
Wow. I gotta say I'm beginning to understand what all the hype was about in the pre-season over this kid. Talk about a ball-hawking safety. Unfortunately it's kind of the nature of the position that as a freshman there are going to be handful of costly mistakes but I think this kid more than makes up for it with his playmaking skills as a defender. I cannot wait to watch him for the next 3 or 4 years in Austin. I don't know that I've ever seen a player remind me so much of Bob Sanders.

White Uni's Tonight
Doggonnit the white jerseys are gonna look pretty on national tv tonight. Far and away the best lookin jersey's in America. The orange are nice and all but there's something about the solid white accented with burnt orange that is just perfect.
Brian Orapko wearing white on white on white is what a college football player is meant to look like.
Anyone have thoughts on what Texas player looks the best in their jersey?
