Basically a rip on the Suns from my prospective. One of the top 10 toughest schedules while remaining top 5 record wise. I would say if we have to get better than the best that's a pretty tough feat right there and i don't think that's really a question to ask. More so we should be concerned about sustainability but that's with any team.

Traveling ESPNS article here

Are we serious? I like this line in the article...

"Whether or not this will affect play on the court remains to be seen. Referees have long been instructed to allow two steps and in interviews with NBA players last season there was some confusion about the rule."

Can we assume that this happens with other rules?

How about reaching in? (ie bruce bowen on the spurs). Based on how that article reads that is a statement out of the president of referee operations mouth. What do you guys think?

Will this affect anything for us?

I think Amare might like the rule. May make his moves to the basket more effective?

Did anybody see the missed call on the last shot of regulation before the over time in the Lakers / Magic tragidy?? I was under the impression that what Pau Gasol did was considered a goal tend? Am I wrong? His fingers cleary pass through the under side of the rim. They clearly touch the rim.

The way I read the rules it's a goal tend? I 'll keep an eye out for video or a picture. But my DVR says goal tend.

I keep pretty good tabs on sites like NBA.com ESPN.com and any other site I think I might find Suns news on.

It pains me to see the Suns trashed by the basketball community. Even during winning times this team could not get respect from the NBA and its <strike>retarded</strike> fans. Now that we are not exactly on the same level as the Lakers and Celtics it has grown even worse.

Years prior when the Suns had to try to lose 30 games the articles still had no respect. Can they win with a "run and gun" system? Every loss was front page news. Every win was, well just a statistic under a standings tab on the website. For some time now the Suns where just expected to win but not expect to "WIN".

From 1988 to 2001 the Phoenix suns went to the Playoffs 13 times. Over the entire history of the Suns from 1970 to Current we have made the playoffs 28 times. Only 9 other teams in the history of the NBA have achieved this or more. The Spurs have 28 (soon to be 29). Why is our Suns team so disrespect by the NBA? By the Refs and most of all, by the fans? I don't think I remember a winning season or losing season where we had not been the losing bet in most situations.

Is the bottom line really a championship? I would have to go out on a limb and say that the holy grail of the season would not get us the respect we desire. This team has been to the show, this team has paid it's dues. When is it our turn to catch the luck it takes to prove ourselves?

For those of you who don't think the Suns get the shaft I beg of you please read these:

This song is how I feel when it comes to the Suns right now....

We Need the Mavs to take a loss tonight against Denver. Even though Nene is out I think the Mavs will have a tough time competing in this one. I do wonder though, how in the world does it seem like every suspension in the NBA has a negative affect on the Phoenix Suns?

That's just our dumb luck. I will surely be rooting for Denver. GO CARMELLO! heh. Who is with me?!

I really hate all of this...I was more content just knowing we had a reserved spot in the playoffs.

Barkley (not that his opinion actually matters) stated recently these next two games will be losses for the Mavs.

Blazers vs Suns

Ed Note: Bumped from the Fan Posts. I've intended to write a detailed preview of this game myself and have a LOT to say on the matter but once again am just slammed today. Maybe later. Thanks to antiw0rm for stepping into the breach

The Suns have more or less dominated the Blazers the last few years outscoring them by an average of 11.7 points and winning 11 in a row until our last meeting. Phoenix beat them twice this year, then came Roy. Roy scored 52 points in 44 minutes to finish his best game of his career and give the Suns a taste of their own scoring medicine. The Suns sit 2 - 1 against the Blazers this season.

However, Last night against Philadelphia Roy went 5 of 18 from the field and watched as his team climbed back from a 14 point deficit to eventually be defeated in extra minutes. Portland in the race for better positioning in the Northwest division will need to avoid adding another loss or risk being caught by Dallas in the 8th seed. Portland is currently tied with Utah at 44 - 27 for 6th in the west.

Phoenix coming into this game will need to shut down Roy and keep close tabs on Steve Blake. These two combined for 72 points and are the reason the Suns lost to Portland in the last meeting.

Blazers Edge Preview

Match-ups that I will be watching:

Grant Hill vs Brandon Roy: Grant Hill has been a defensive juggernaut in the past 4 games and an offensive genius as well. If Grant Hill is playing decent he should give Roy enough to worry about thus keeping his scoring in check. Not to mention Roy has a minor ankle injury and is listed as probable. + 1 for the Suns.

Steve vs Steve: Nash will need to be aggressive offensively as to keep Blake occupied. However, Nash can never exactly be relied on for defensive stops and continues to react slowly in most cases. + 1 for Portland.

Greg Oden vs Shaqtus: Simply +1 Suns.

LaMarcus Aldridge vs Matt Barns: This is a tough cover for Matt Barns but I see this thing going either way. Matt will need to continue to be aggressive going to the hoop. Matt Gives up a few inches as usual at this position but they end up roughly the same size. I would say these two cancel each other out.

Phoenix Bench vs Portland Bench: As of late our bench seems to be the better of the two. With extreme hustle and improved confidence the Suns should win this one. + 1 for the Suns.

The rest of the Suns need to continue to put a hand in the passing lanes. Richardson will need to continue to make shots and on the other end keep track of his man on the 3 point line.

If the Suns play anything like they have in the last 6 games. We should come out of this with a WIN.

Dallas plays Denver tomorrow night. A win for us in Portland could move us to 2.5 games overall. A win by Denver tomorrow night would put is with in 2 games. This will be a nail biter.
