Question: has anyone been tracking scoring chances for the VAN-SJS series?
Anyone happen to see a website that is tracking scoring chances for the VAN-SJS series? I can't seem to find them in the usual sources. Although it always depends to some degree on the tracker, It's fun to see how the Canucks are limiting and generating scoring chances. I won't give the formal definition here, but scoring chances are shots from the point with a screen or else come from within the box between the face-off dots in the offensive zone. And we know that NHL teams pay a lot of attention to them. AV for example is always talking about scoring chances, and high percentage plays, etc.
For the first two rounds, Scott Reynolds tracked them for most games and Cam Charron tracked a couple here. But I haven't been able to find them anywhere for this round.
Any tips much appreciated!
Raffi Torres signs with the Canucks 1 year @ 1 million
After waiting 24 hours for a comment from our hosts on this signing, I felt it incumbent upon me to inquire, do we Canucks' fans now have a common cause with the Oilogosphere? Lowetide also has not mentioned it, which makes me wonder if Raffi no longer pulls at the heartstrings of Oiler fans. MC79 tweeted that he thought this is a good signing. Here and here are Jonathan Willis' spirited defense of Torres before he was traded. Here is a link from the Cannon the day he was traded to Buffalo, which also includes a link that says he turned down a 2 year @ 2 million per contract extension with Columbus. (Why wouldn't he?) The discussion in Canucks circles is that he might start the season in place of the injured Burrows with the Sedins, as well as take Bernier's place as the body in the paint on the PP.
So, will some of you now find one thing to cheer during Canucks games?
