Dr. Frank Jobe Passed Away

+

The Dr. who pioneered the surgery has passed away. He is a true Hall of Famer, even though he never pitched a day in the majors.

Dr. Frank Jobe and Tommy John To Be Honored in Cooperstown

Tommy John surgery probably saved a number of pitchers careers. This is a well deserved honor.

A List of "Wise" Spenders in MLB

I have a feeling this list is BS. The Mets come in near the bottom of it and there is a picture of Carlos Beltran; implying that the Mets spent poorly on him. No use of WAR, and a "formula" that factors in playoff success makes me extremely skeptical of the list. Of course the Yankees and Red Sox come out in first.

I Hate Him Now More Than Ever

Apparently Frenchy is happy to be back in NY. The money quote is "He always wanted to play meaningful games in New York." He comes off as such an asshole, I hope the Rangers lose now because of him.

…i feel like the Mets first base situation has been like an SAT question this winter, where i look at the possible choices and i don’t see the right answer, but i have to choose the best answer out of four not so good answers…the thing is, i don’t think Jacobs is going to hurt this team and in many ways, i think his bat is going to be beneficial…he has holes in both his offensive game and defensive game for sure, and yes, there is definitely a fair argument to have promoted Chris Carter instead of Jacobs, but in watching the two of them closely this Spring, i like Jacobs personality, and he also has major league service time under his belt, in the NL East at that, whereas Carter doesn’t…that said, having both Jacobs and Bay back to back in the lineup will amount to a ton of strikeouts…ugh…and then there is Tatis who has played a grand total of 43 games at first base in his career… This is what we are up against. This is the mentality of losing baseball.
