My name is Ryan Blight, and I have been an editor for Arctic Ice Hockey since the Winnipeg Jets 2.0 came back to the River City. Prior to that, I was a contributor to Nucks Misconduct as the Manitoba Moose (AHL) blogger. I have proudly watched AIH grow by leaps and bounds every season since the return of the Jets, but am not willing to sugarcoat what I see occurring on the ice or in the boardroom. Avid fan of #fancystats and season-ticket holder since the Jets returned.

The Jets did well to acquire Michael Frolik

While the bottom-six of the Winnipeg Jets remains very much a "work-in-progress", Kevin Cheveldayoff did a very nice job to bolster it by bringing a solid player in Michael Frolik.

Winnipeg Jets rush to extend Chevy for some reason

There are a number of different directions I could have gone with this criticism, but they all came back to the same spot. Why sign him now when he still had three years left on his current deal?

Zach Bogosian extends long-term with the Jets

Kevin Cheveldayoff has saved himself a trip to Toronto after locking up his fifth and final restricted free agent before, each of which before they hit arbitration.

The Jets may as well have kept Rick Dudley as GM

Kevin Cheveldayoff has been too enamoured in playing it safe these past two years as opposed to making deals to better his rosters. Now Jets' fans could be stuck with a loser for years to come.

Nothing Little about it: Jets re-sign Bryan Little

The Winnipeg Jets have come to terms with centre Bryan Little before their scheduled arbitration hearing on Wednesday. But just how much is this signing going to cost the team?

Jets well represented at Olympic orientation camps

Many members of the Winnipeg Jets will have their chance to strut their stuff at Olympic camps later this summer, though the official teams won't be chosen until much closer to the Sochi Games.

Recap: Winnipeg Jets Development Camp 2013 - Day 3

Day 3 of the five-day Jets Development Camp has now come and gone, and the drills have become more and more complex. Below are some of my thoughts about the Wednesday session.

Recap: Winnipeg Jets Development Camp 2013 - Day 2

Day 2 of the five-day Jets Development Camp has now come and gone, as the players engaged in more battle drills. Below are some of my thoughts on the Tuesday morning session.

Jets agree to terms with Tangradi and Cormier

Kevin Cheveldayoff inked two of his RFA's forwards today, and managed to avoid one of his arbitration hearings next week in the process. Hopefully these will lead to some of the bigger signings that we're all waiting for.

Recap: Winnipeg Jets Development Camp 2013 - Day 1

The first on-ice session of the 2013 Winnipeg Jets Development Camp has come and gone, and here are a few thoughts from an arm-chair GM sitting in the stands.

Winnipeg Jets Development Camp - Open Thread

The Winnipeg Jets will put 43 young men through the paces this week at the MTS Iceplex, including Mark Scheifele, Jacob Trouba and Joshua Morrissey, and it begins today. Come join in on the discussion!

Burmistrov defects from Jets, heads to KHL

After two seasons of being misused by coach Claude Noel, restricted free agent Alex Burmistrov is heading to Ak Bars of the KHL after signing a two-year deal today. This is not good news for the local ice hockey franchise.

Jets announce 2013 Development Camp details

43 young men will be at the MTS Iceplex for the week-long Development Camp in just over a week from now as we again get a glimpse of what the future of the Winnipeg Jets could look like.

Winnipeg Jets, Chevy and TNSE's "Cone of Silence"

News from the Winnipeg Jets is nearly impossible to come by, as TNSE stubbornly allows absolutely nothing out for the media to talk about. And in my humble opinion, it is stupid and Winnipeg won't be a true big-league town until they do.

Winnipeg Jets fail to sign 2011 pick Zach Yuen

It is really hard to "build through the draft", which is apparently Kevin Cheveldayoff's mantra, when you trade two picks to move up and select a guy that you later don't sign.

Alex Burmistrov may be done with the Jets

According to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press, multiple sources suggest that Burmi has no intentions of re-signing with the Jets. Oh joy.

2013 Winnipeg Jets Final Player Grades - Forwards

The Winnipeg Jets have packed their bags and left for home after finishing 9th in the Eastern Conference and out of the playoffs. The postmortem of the season is in full swing, and here's a look at how the forwards did.

Preview: Jets need a win over Habs to stay alive

The Jets will need a lot of help from the out-of-town scoreboard if their slim playoff hopes are to come true, but none of that will matter if they can't put two more points on the board in their final game of the regular season.

Recap: Jets carve Sabres, keep playoff hopes alive

Despite being undermanned and up against a team with nothing to lose, the Winnipeg Jets put in a solid effort and were rewarded with the tight victory over the Sabres. The win keeps their slim playoff alive.

After getting thoroughly outplayed for the first period, the Winnipeg Jets finally showed some fight in the 2nd as they piled up four goals in the final 7:22 of the frame en route to a pivotal victory. The season might not be a lost cause just yet.

Redmond resumes skating, docs say it's a "miracle"

After nearly bleeding to death when a skate blade severed his femoral artery just over six weeks ago, Jets defender Zach Redmond makes his incredible return to the ice today to the surprise of many.

Byfuglien moves into new role on Jets' top line

In related news, Montreal Canadiens defenders have attempted to call in sick to work. Sadly, their coach knew they were faking and are being forced to dress.

Preview: Jets limp into Montreal, take on the Habs

The Jets did very little on trade deadline day, only claiming Mike Santorelli on waivers to replace the injured Nik Antropov. So this team will be heading into the stretch drive as is and will be in tough to remain in the playoff picture.

Jets stand pat at deadline while others improve

Despite having a plethora of needs for his team, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff made just one move as he claimed Mike Santorelli on waivers. As a result, the Jets will stick with this current roster and will be in tough to make the playoffs.

Recap: Jets losing altitude, fall 4-2 to Rangers

Despite taking a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, the Jets threw up all over themselves on four power-plays in the second and allowed all momentum to disappear. This team, as currently constructed, will not make the playoffs.

Are the Jets and Blues potential trade partners?

The Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues have scouted each others games multiple times over the past few weeks. Today, we try piece together some info to see if a potential trade would make sense for both teams.
