"Can anyone stop the Rays Juggernaut??""
I LOVE it..That's what the guy on ESPN said before showing Rays highlights..and how about Gabe Gross..Honestly has to be one of the best clutch hitters in baseball..17 of 27 RBI have either tied game or put Rays ahead..The guy is awesome when the pressure's on. Lastly I would like to welcome back my favorite Ray Rocco Baldelli..Do us proud Roc.
Please weigh in...Any interest in Lo Duca???
Nationals released him and I think he still has something left in the tank. Solid righty bat who has career .336 obp..doesn't strike out much and has some pop. Lots of line drives...Can both catch and play 1st and has actually played some outfield (40 games) Would he be worth picking up????
R.J. Anderson for GM!!!
Maybe then some shit might get done to improve this team...We'd probably have Bonds and Murton by now for sure.... Haven't always agreed with R.J. but the man knows baseball. So tired of watching the Rays get smoked..They've been getting stripped of players for years and we finally get a chance to improve and do something special NOW and Sternberg and Friedman shove their heads in the sand and hide.....We only have so many roster spots for all these prospects!!!! Something's gotta give.
Marlins asking about Manny/ Dodgers after Maddux
They would want Sox to eat a LOT of his salary and Sox may do it if Marlins will trade them Hermida or Willingham plus some young arms. Dodgers/Padres exchanging names........
Any interest in Matt Kemp
Dodgers are looking for a shortstop since Furcal and NOMORE are both injured (yet again)...They've been shopping Kemp off and on all year..Maybe we could do it for Brignac and PTBN?? Thoughts??
ESPN Trade Deadline Rumor mill / Rays
Rays pursuing right-handed bat? Tampa is said to be in the market for a right-handed bat, apparently unaware that bats are not manufactured for right- or left-handers; it simply depends on how you hold them.
Yet another reliever on the block
Cubs shopping lefty reliever Eyre Monday, July 28, 2008 | Print Entry Posted by Jayson Stark Add another lefthanded reliever to your deadline shopping lists. Teams that have spoken with the Cubs -- who, incredibly, now have too MUCH pitching -- report they're calling around to American League clubs to gauge interest in left-hander Scott Eyre. Among teams expected to be in the mix: the Rays, Red Sox and Tigers.
