Twin Towers
Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum make a great duo. Tim Duncan and David Robinson did as well.
There was no extension for Roy Hibbert or Brook Lopez this year. They will be restricted free agents and for either one to come to Sacramento and for their teams to say it might be too expensive, we might have to throw a ton of money at either one. What do you think about either one of those players to play next to DeMarcus Cousins? Would it be worth it to overpay to get them to play for the Kings?
Building an arena is tough but not a $440 million dollar court house.
While we scrambling to find money creatively left and right. This is old news but Sacramento County is in the process of building a $440 million court house in downtown. Of all the expensive areas you could build, it goes downtown.
http://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/snog/blogs/post?oid=1440183
It's a court house, with a judges and people processing paperwork. This will be paid with more fees on top of more fees. It's not a tax, it's a fee! So it does not require your vote.
This court house happened way too easily. As for the arena issue, it's less money and everyone is up in arms about the whole thing.
If you have been to the very nice city hall in downtown, that was built for $68 million.
Darrell Fong and Sandy Sheedy
First please excuse me for my bad writing and getting political but it relates to the Kings and our city.
I read that there were two council members who voted against trying to find out what would the parking be worth. According to FOX40.com, the two were Darrell Fong and the other was Sandy Sheedy.
Fong and Sheedy wants to kick the can down the road and turn the arena issue over to the voters. If that's the case, why do we even need council people representing us when we can just send everything to the voters. They show lack of leadership are very short sighted.
Last month in the Sacramento Bee, Marcos Breton said that Sheedy made up her own poll that said the "city residents want an up or down vote on the financing of a new arena in the downtown railyard.". Breton went on to call this poll "horse manure" and that she is anti mayor KJ. There she goes wanting to kick the can down the road again aka anti progress.

(You can read that article here http://www.sacbee.com/2011/10/26/4006936/marcos-breton-sandy-sheedys-not.html)
The Sacramento River Cats and IKEA is both located in West Sacramento. We live in a city where there is little progress made. Sheedy and Fong are of the same DNA as Heather Fargo. That DNA is made up of spending and anti business. That is why the Arena issue never went anywhere under Fargo.
You just can't get anything done with the group that has been in place for years. I am just tired of how everything is.
Since Sheedy likes polls so much, I attached one below. Let your voice be heard.
Can someone please educate me on the bunch below (council people) and if they are worth keeping and why. I'm all for blowing up and starting over with people who are care about growth, jobs, less regulations, and pro business in this area that certainly lacks diversification in our government town.
So lets start a movement to kick bums out of our city. It may not be this issue but it could also be other issues but lets do something.
Below is also a change.org petition to not re-elect Sandy Sheedy. If you agree, please sign it. I'm only one man's opinion. Please forward to people you know in Sacramento.

This basketball video makes me excited.
Watching the half court shot from Tyreke last year against Memphis and it makes pumps me up about the upcoming season. Please share a video of your own if you have one that makes you feel the same (kings related of course). = )

New NBA
With the NBA lockout over disagreements in revenue sharing with owners and players. The owners are pushing hard for a hard cap and more. It looks like player salaries are going down to me and if there is no season, the players do not make money.
I only ask this because I don't know and am curious. Why can't the players either NBA or NFL just start their own league? Can someone tell me why this can't be done?
Both the NBA has the D-League and there's the UFL for Football. Players get together, get investors, pool money, or whatever. I know it's better to go with the main league that everyone knows but if owners keep pushing, couldn't they players union have this in their back pocket to threaten the owners back?
Sacramento Kings Statues
Michael Jordan really left a mark in Chicago and he has his own statue. Scottie Pippen just recently got his alongside MJ.
Philadelphia has one of Rocky Balboa.
I propose that we raise money through a chip in account to have Kings related statues that show pride in our Sacramento Kings.
There are only a few statues around town, most of which are the ones of animals outside of Safeway. Those are beautiful.
Here is my suggestion and maybe you guys could suggest some too.
I would like a statue of Doug Christie taking a swing of Rick Fox.
The more likely ones would be Oscar Robertson, Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, etc.
Kick these 9 people out.
Sacramento City Council has failed everyone.
Just about everyone knows that you can't get anything done in the city of Sacramento.
When Ikea was thinking about building in the area, Sacramento lost them to West Sacramento. It was a boom to West Sacramento which added construction jobs, 300 jobs at the store, and big tax revenues.
Rivercats should also have been in Sacramento but the Sacramento City Council could not get it done there either. Instead they are in West Sacramento.
I don't know all the council people but I know that some have been there for way too long, even decades. Darrel Fong, Robert Fong, Steve Cohen, and the rest of you better watch your seats.
I don't know who is with me but I am tired of our City Government. This is the straw that broke the camel's back.
It's not just this issue but it's about everything and I'm tired.
Carmichael Dave for Mayor!
Below are members of the FAILURE CLUB. When their seat is up, vote them all out.

Kings vs Clippers = DMC is Overrated
Has anyone noticed in today's game that DMC sucked? When he gets the ball, we want him to pass and not handle it or shoot. The offense really moved when Taylor or Thornton was in and attacking.
I really dislike his post moves, which are to get the ball and trip over himself. Good luck in the pros buddy.
Sammy on the other hand has showed an offensive game that no one knew existed. Maybe it's because this is a contract year and we all know how that usually goes.
Anyways, DMC is hype. Trade value is high, we could pull something similar to what the Nets did for Williams during the off season.
Maloofs are broke
"Leonard Green & Partners LP and TPG Capital are in talks to take a controlling stake in the Palms Casino Resort, a Las Vegas celebrity hangout, as owner George Maloof seeks to restructure the property’s debt, people with knowledge of the matter said.
The buyout firms acquired most of a loan backed by the casino and its hotel towers at a discount last year, and may take an equity stake in the first quarter as part of the restructuring, said three of the people, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are private. No agreement has been reached and talks are continuing, the people said."

Off season free agency
I'm gonna go on the far end here and throw this out there.
With all the free cap space we have, we'll pick up someone decent. A good quality big man is always good. We have a ton of them right now but I don't think Sammy will be here after this year.
If all goes right, we can be a great team instantly. If all goes wrong, we'll be in the same place we are now, the shit hole.
In free agency, I say we go after two great centers. Yao Ming and Greg Oden will both be unrestricted free agents (i could be wrong). It's a risk reward thing. What do you think?
Every other free agent on the 2011 market are mid-level players, not great players with some exception.

Luis Scola

I know we have a ton of bigs now. Carl Landry will be a restricted free agent after the 2010-2011 season. Will we be throwing him $8-$10 million a year? If we do, wouldn't you rather throw that money at Luis Scola or maybe even a Marc Gasol who are bruisers that restricted free agents this year and then use Landry for trade bait to get a guard or a draft pick for next year's draft that will be used towards a guard?
I think guys who play well in the post are invaluable. Those two guys above have lots of toughness. Gasol and Scola have similar games while Landry does not post up as much as they do.
Tiago Splitter
Tiago Splitter is considered to be the top center in Europe. San Antonio Express-News noted that Spurs drafted him in 2007 but won't be able to bring him over since they can only offer him the mid-level exception.
Perhaps we could get some help from our very own Jason Levien who is knowledgeable about all things related with foreign contracts, etc to help make this deal happen.
The only way this might be able to work is that spurs trade us his draft rights then we can offer what free cap space we have.
What do you guys think?
The Slovenian Butterfly
PRIMOZ BREZEC
7'1 Center who played several years with the Charlotte Bobcats, could be had for the veteran minimum of $1.1 million.
Just throwing this out there to see what you guys think. We need a center who is not 't 6'9 but since we've been picking up unwanted former Bobcats as of late ..a la Sheldon Williams, Sean May, so why not The Slovenian Butterfly?
As of Today, he has reached an agreement in principle to sign with with Philadelphia 76ers aka he has not officially signed yet. I don't think we were going to get him or give him a look but imagine what a guy like him can do you for you. Primoz can provide as a decent backup to Spencer and also provide a veteran presence. It is likely that he is off the table, so who else is out there that is UNDER THE RADAR?

Bringing Back The Roar
Two of the starting 5 of the 2002 kings team are still playing in the NBA. Any chance we can bring back Vlade, Chris, or Doug as an assistant coach? Sharif is here now but he wasn't part of the 2002 magic.
I don't know what the cost of an assistant coach is but I know they would sell more seats and most importantly, bring back some lost fans who want a piece of the past. I know we should move on but those guys are my guys. Anyone else in favor of this?
