Midwest AN days?

Maybe this has been posted lately, maybe not. I don't get online much these days. It's frightening.

Our boys will be in KC in just a few weeks. This will be the 1st time I've been back in 2 years. Last season was the 1st time I hadn't gone to KC in 6 years, but seeing them lose in Boston was some how sweeter then seeing them lose in KC. Was just wondering if anyone will be there or who will be there. I know there was some fun to have last time I went. Oh the fun.......

Just because I want to....

I haven't been on here in a while, maybe this has been posted before.....but I just stumbled upon it and wanted to share.

For anyone that can remember, I am obsessed with Swisher. Always have been and always will be. I was just killing time at work today and went to his website and found a link for www.voteswisher.com.

I think it's great! It's a site started by Yankees fans to write him into the All-Star ballot. Yes, I know he's not on our team anymore. Yes, I know he plays for the enemy. I was worried about his move the NY. I went to one game there last summer, and that was more then enough. NYY fans are brutal. I thought there was no way they'd love him like we did (Or still do), but they're getting pretty damn close.

I thought, maybe,.....for old-time sake, maybe we could just write Swisher in. Just once.....

Spring Training Twist O' Fate

I just recently found out a few days ago that my parents got a seasonal job working at Phoenix Muni. That means I have a free place to stay!! I can hardly wait. It's so totally unexpected. I never thought I'd get to go back to Spring Training. It was the best experience I ever had as a fan.

So I was wondering if there is anything noteworthy going on March 24-29? I've seen alot of people are going during the 1st part of March, but couldn't see much for when I'll be there. I'm sort of out of the loop so any info would be greatly appreciated!

Spring Training is going to rock!

So, I come here in peace. I am not a Royals fan. Does it help that I go to KC every year to watch the A's play?

Anyway, I just found out that I get to go to Arizona for a Spring Break and I'm going to a game at the Royals stadium. Is there anything I should know about? Any inside info? I'm really looking forward to it!! In the past these sites have really helped me out. If there's anything I should know as a 1st timer, let me know. It's almost time for baseball kids!!! WOOO HOOOO

Better late then never right?

I'm not sure anyone on here even remembers me, but way back in May I was on here asking for help  on planning a quick trip to Boston. It been over  a month since I got back, but I finally got around to making a post on here. Not that anyone would really care to hear all of this, but I just had to share with someone...........

Things to do on the East Coast

So I'm headed to Boston to see the A's August 1st and 2nd, then I'm headed to NYC to catch the Halo's/Yankees game. If there's one team I hate more than the Yankees, it'd be the Angels, so I figure it's a safe bet I might not get arrested for being mouthy.....we'll see.

Anyway, I have the day before the game on Saturday night in Boston, and I have an entire day after the Yankees game in NYC, does anyone have an suggestions on things I should see other than the obvious touristy places? Didn't I remember someone having an A's bar or something somewhere in New York City, or did I make that up? But I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. IT's not much time to do anything, but I wanted to make it to Yankee stadium before they tore it down, and I'm going it alone. So instead of taking my saved money to help me move in August, I decided to spend some of it on this trip......what can I say, I have my priorities. Any suggestions would be great!!!

I'm from out of town....WAYYYYYYYYYY out of town.

I am so grateful for sites like this because I can share my ignorance about other places in this country without feeling totally humliated. I am in the works of planning a trip to Boston and New York City for the 1st weekend in August. Thanks to the Red Sox website, I got some very useful information. Now I need help on this end.

I've lived in rural Arkansas, in a town of 11,000 people, for way, way, way, way, way too long. Any city that has more than about 6 signals and 1 major interesection confuses me. (Sad isn't it?) I will be taking this trip alone and on a pretty pathetic budget. I'm wondering what's the cheapest and best way to get from Boston to New York City? I also need a cheap, SAFE, close place to stay for a night or 2? (anyone want to adopt me? I'm house broken!!) I'm hoping to arrive in New York City early evening Saturday August 2nd.

And to really show my true ignorance about this part of the country....will someone please tell me, does it matter what airport I fly out of to go home? I know there's 2, but no one around here seems to know what difference it makes. (Surprise!!) I know, I'm a dork.

I don't know anybody on the East Coast. I don't even know anyone that's even been to the East Coast, so I'm really just depending on the nice suggestions of folks like you!!! please help....and be nice!!! :)

Hi! I don't belong here! Please be nice...

So, This was the only place I could think to turn. I will say it...I am an Oakland A's fan. I know what you're thinking, "Why is she taking up our space?" Well, I will make this short and sweet so I won't get throw out.

I'm looking to take a trip to Boston for the 1st weekend in August to see the A's play. I'm also going to try to catch one Yankee game. (I know, it makes me puke to say that, but it's just one of those things. Please quit booing me and throwing rotten produce) I live in a hick town in rural Arkansas (No, I don't have any family here...and if I did...I still wouldn't marry my cousin) Anyway, I'm not familiar with Boston at all. I can find it on a map. I can point it out in a book, and know it's in a different time zone, but that's about it. It looks like I'm making this trek on my own, which is kind of scary. Is there such a thing as a nice, safe, close, and CHEAP place to stay? Cheap transportation? Like I said, I haven't been in a city bigger than about 50,000 people in years.....and making a quick 3 day trip on my own is a little scary, but I'll never find anyone to go with me.

I figured I'd come to the source with all my questions.....please tell me what you think, because like most things in life, I have no idea......

Think what you want

EVERYONE, for as long as I have been on AN, has been a part of the "Joe Morgan Sucks Train"; Weither it's "FireJoeMorgan.Com" or critiscising  his commentary of A's games. He talks shit about us. We don't steal enough, or bunt enough. Has anyone ever even glipsed at, Baseball for Dummies"? I know the answer is, "Yes" because we've talked about it on AN before. And now I'm being told it was classless, etc? So be it!!!  I  have done more than enough to support the A's in the South tonight. I have talked to more Yankees fans, Mets fans, Cubs fans, and White Sox fans. than I have done in my entire life.  I have worn my Oakland, Nick Swisher jersey proudly tonight, when I walked around Memphis, I have worn my A's sweatshirt. I have been the only female that has shown some love of a sport tonight. I have shown my A's tattoo in pride, so AN, think what you want about me telling Joe Morgan he sucked. I'm ok with it. I'm glad I did it. Someone who talks shit about the team you love should be told how you feel. I'm sorry that I thought a group of fans  that would be proud of me, are now ashamed. You'll all make fun of me for thinking I'm a martyr now. I really don't care........

This just in from Memphis..........

So This will be short and sweet. I will be posting more about it later, but I'm in Memphis with my mom and step dad for the CIvil rights game. He's a White Sox fan, I love Nick Swisher. I was all decked out in all my A's stuff AND represented TWICE on the jumbotron. It was cool!!! Anyway about 30 minutes ago, we're walking out of the game, against the crowd, a man walks, he brushes against me. It's Joe Morgan. In a fluid movment, I say to my step dad, "Hey it's Joe Morgan! JOE MORGAN YOU SUCK!!!" with him about 3 ft from me and loud enough for all to hear.

My grandfather raised me to hate the man.....even if he didn't, I feel I would've hated him on my own. I said before we got here "I'm going to find ESPN and tell Joe Morgan he sucks" Little did I know my dream would come true. I have fulfilled my grandfathers wishes!! Now off to Beale Street for some blues, bar-b-que, and beer!!!!!
