Be Better than Buttercup
HH Community and Angels Marketing Department,
This was a HUGE offseason. Reagins. Mathis. Ianetta. Hawkins. Kendrick. Wilson. Pujols.
The ONLY thing left to make our experience even better in 2012 is to replace Buttercup with a real inspirational anthem.
Please list 100 songs that are better than Buttercup and send the Angels Marketing Department a message that we want to rock out and get pumped up and actually built up - NOT TO LET ME DOWN AND MESS ME AROUND - the most buzzkillington, expectation-lowering downer of a song.
It's been brought up before, but this being the offseason of miracles, believe this can happen. Angels Management, finish this offseason strong with a psychic upgrade!
Buehrle? Buehrle? anyone? Buehrle?
This guy, in my non-sabermetric-understanding opinion would make a perfectly reasonable 4th starter next year - our new Joel Pinero. Let Jerome Williams go for the 5th spot and our starters are set.
An Appeal to the Design-Minded
DEAR Halos Community and hopefully, the Angels Marketing Department,

Stop bitching and innovate
Longtime lurker, once-in-a-blue-moon poster here.
I share with the HH community, a winter offseason of discontent. When paraphrasing Tony Reagins, "I'm not ready to declare this offseason a failure," I have to ask: When will you be ready? Alas, I love the Angels and will support them come hell or high water in 2011. We might just pleasantly surprise some people and I hope we do.
Recently, there have been some themes relating to media in recent posts: Fire Mark Gubicza, Lunchtime Halo Talk, etc. and I often wonder about our community and its impact on the culture of the Angels both inside the clubhouse and among the general fan-base.
I think eventually, there will be a natural evolution of technology that will enable us to discuss the game in real-time. Forget comments. I'm talking about radio broadcasts powered by the community; a peanut-gallery of goofballs, catcalls, insights and epiphanies.
Clearly, the HH community thrives because of the diversity of opinions about Angels baseball that are not part of the corporate marketing machine all significantly large organizations employ.
So, I'm calling out HH administrators. Instead of bashing the safe choices served up by our paternal affiliation using a 100 year old format, with limited vibrancy to the order of 2 human beings, let's make our own broadcast, our own play-by-play, our own show!
Lunchtime Halo Talk is a good first step.
Now, let's turn down the volume on FSN or KCOP broadcasts, turn up the HH Airwaves and introduce our own format making commentary, performing seances, taking callers during commercials... the possibilities are endless.
Vote for a Vernon Wells trade
With some much talk on HH about a potential VW trade who do you think it will take to land him?
There are a couple trains of thought here.
Use only players from positions that we're stocked at or won't get the time of day with our depth charts: Izturis, Aybar, Figgins, Willits, Murphy, Mathis, Bootcheck... and now, arguably, Shields
Use some of those players along with Santana or Saunders in a package, then sign Zito.
Fallen Angels commit Cardinal Sin
I just want to come out and say I thought this was done in really bad taste. Merely an hour after winning the World Series, some snarky "reporter" posts this pic on mlb.com with the following headline:
Fallen Angels commit Cardinal Sin

I mean, come on, can't you write a better headline than that?
Are the players reading this blog?
This is a question I frequently ask myself. If I were a professional athlete and therefore a kind of celebrity, enamored of my own success and mildly narcissistic, I would totally read the best blogs about myself. Who wouldn't????
So, I wonder who's reading this blog and more importantly, who is posting anonymously?
Give your best analysis of HH posters and who they actually are on the team/organization.
Take it like a rookie
When Adam Kennedy boils over and tells me to bust my ass, I listen. Kennedy has a world series ring and hit the 3 home runs to get us there.
My prediction? Casey Kotchman takes this laser-guided advice to heart and starts to rake.
I'm calling my boy out to go dongyard tomorrow.
Now, give your diary a bit more thought, then give it another shot.
Extend Escobar's Contract
The most Panther move to come is locking up Escobar for another 2 or 3 years.
I'm starting a petition, I'm starting a draft, I'm sponsoring a bake sale to keep Escobar under the halo. That's right, I'm gonna wash your car, dust your blinds and vaccuum your ashtrays - all to pick up some extra nickels which I'll promptly Coinstar for scrip. I'll do whatever it takes...
Stoneman are you listening?

Best numbtard quote
This thread is dedicated to my favorite troll "numbtards." numbtards has impressed me with his vast reasoning skills, one-liners and comebackers. I selected some gems but feel free to add new ones as they are gifted into the world.

Our Mortal Enemies
I know there's not much going on in our world of things angelic, but I was curious what you all think about moves our competitors in the West have made? I've noticed the Rangers being aggresive about acquiring pitching (for once.) They couldn't avoid it forever. And of course the Bradley trade to Oakland. Is this something to cheer or fear?
